You are totally amazing, I have been involved in Art Therapy, and teaching public school art for more than 30 years,, but I have never heard or seen those parts of the face explained and demonstrated in such an incredible way. I am also USArmy, retired, disabled from 3 wars, and 4 combat tours, losing my Commander, soldiers, and too many friends. I have drawn and sketched most of my life, but never at your level. I will definitely look forward to your future lessons, maybe at my 75 years, with combat disabilities, I can still keep learning, thank you, MSG Leum
I was struggling with noses, then you said think of a nose in its most basic shape or whatnot and it made noses so much easier when I grasped that idea. Have the most basic shape and build upon it. I guess that is all of drawing and art as a whole isn't it.
I feel once you learn the structure and anatomy u kind of enjoy the process without worrying about getting things in right place ...u start experimenting
And you'd be right! There's a reason why good art teachers teach realism first: You have to know the rules in order to bend them and make them your own
yes knowing anatomy is important but shading and knowing about contrast and light for a 3D effect is almost even a more important skill. For the drawing in my case if its too complicated i just trace it ,,. and get that off the way. I have managed to achieve very realistic drawings with that trick and even opened my own channel :)
Thoroughly enjoyed this video Brad. I feel like you can never learn too much about portrait drawing. Everytime I watch tutorials there is always something else I gain. Awesome explanations. Wonderful video and just feel privileged to be able to sit here and watch someone like you draw! If you think about it... we live in such a lucky time that we can gain access to amazing artists doing their thing... right from our computers/phones etc. Thank you for sharing.
This artist is very helpful to everyone He's good to show the technique about proportion process and the complete discussion that why i like practice to do that . Salute sir !
my favorite demonstration/explanation of how to draw the nose. I love how you used the csi concept and simple, fluid shapes to execute the structure. Thanks for this!
I am returning to art as a dabbler after decades of sporadic drawing. At 73, I am finding that your lessons are so user-friendly and relaxing. If I could have had youtube in the 80's, I would be so much further along now I think.
i dont know how to thank you enough for this lecture and techniques you taught in this video. ive been watching drawing lectures to improve my tattoo works, and to properly know what are the rules in drawings. and here you are teaching in the best way for us to understand. thank you!!
Wow awesome. I mostly use the techniques you use here for drawing portraits (digitally and traditional). But the one thing I never really added as a construction line (or shape rather) was the Greater Alar. I think using that for the nose is extremely efficient and now it makes drawing noses even more enjoyable. Thanks Brad. I'm always willing to learn something new even its subtle 👌🏽
Your video, models and personal style is great. I am taking a fashion sketching course at junior santa monica college level. I am horrible but hopeful, I find fashion sketches to be so cute and interesting. I am not an art student, neither I wish to be an artist but is nice to learn new skills. Fashion sketches are cute, your work is more artistic.
Thanks from the core of my heart for this amazing tutorial I have ever seen on how to draw noses of different shapes. Really helpful for me to learn more in my sketch work ❤️❤️🙏
IT was quite amazing. Very very useful video for all budding artists like me who wants to master portrait techniques. Thanks a lot for posting this wonderful video. All the best for all your future ventures. Bye.
For a while I tried practicing the whole head. I didn't think to instead of combining all the elements in one, try practicing combining just two elements, like the eyes and the nose. This is useful. ^^
Thanks for the video. I have been struggling to draw faces. I don't watch alot of videos because the artist are amazing while I'm struggling. Maybe I'm struggling because I'm not watching enough professionals draw. Your tips and techniques will be in front of my mind during practice. I subscribed!!🙃🙂
Dude this was really great. Found your delivery and presentation very pleasing and easy to digest. Don't normally retain a lot from these kinds of videos, but I found I learned a ton from watching this. Caused me to dive into your other videos, and they're all super quality! Thanks for sharing and would love to see more of these types of videos showing drawing fundamentals you have gleaned. Big new fan.
This Video is Very Helpful.. more Videos like this Please.! This is a Fantastic Teaching Format.. really helps to learn the names as well. That reputation helped me to remember the names and everything.! Really Great Video.! 👊😎
Sir, Thanks a lot for all of your tutorials. As a recommendation, could you do a rhythm tutorial over a faded subject, rather than over a blank paper. That would help us a lot ! Regards
10:52 that was something... Thank you:) I can't support you by getting a t-shirt I live in the middle East in my region we don't even have banks all what I can do is to watch the add and giving a like I think it helps the video with the algorithm 🍀 I just want to say thank you 👍🏼
I had seen a few videos and I had not realized or you had not mentioned that you went to Watttss, but I was able to recognize the really really good technique in your work and it did remind me of some videos I have seen from Jeff and now I am at the beginning of this video and saying damn! I wish it was possible for me to go to watts!!! TTuTT Sadly, I´m from Mexico and getting a visa and being able to pay for my stay is just way impossible at the moment, and probably will be for at least a few years. Hopefully some day, in the future, I really do hope to be able to learn there some day.
Quick question. Is it bad to always use construction lines when drawing? I use them almost exclusively 99% of the time. For figure drawing and landscape. Someone asked me why I always draw lines, shapes, curves or whatever. The best part of drawing is drawing the whole piece using construction.
@@LIZ-xw2tz I actually enjoy the look of the constructed figure before I start painting. As I got more experienced, I realized that I can actually have 3 different kinds of art for whatever I'm working on. The beginning with construction lines, the clean line art sketch, basic b/w shading, then final colored pieced.
The one thing I like about your channel is the real time drawings where I can follow along. Hit me with two hour videos, not this 20 mins speed up thing that everyone else does.

Keep at it and all the best; now it's time to try and relax a bit and smell the roses.

The more freedom you have when drawing the more fun!
I 'm going to make as U told me and I hope that one day U could see my studies about anatomy. Thank a lots
yes ou can draw anything.. and all you ideas, you can create original pieces
