@@SnuggsMcDuff It was such a flex because he didn't reveal his stand until after he had technically used it several times in that scene, so he summoned used the ability instantly moved Za World down the stairs to move Polnareff then unsummoned it before the time stop ended to make it seem like he wasn't using it all... oh and he was dominating the conversation while keeping this up as Dio does

Many stories make it so their villains make effortless flexes just to make them look cool and intimidating.
In JoJo, the Villains WORK for their Flexes!
Dio put in the work to make that flex, to look as intimidating and unstoppable as possible!

I liked that Araki made Iggy be really unique. Often times the animal becomes the group's pet and is all cute and "we must protect", and if it is killed, we all rage and cry. Iggy, however, is an annoying brat and never really give a shit about the group.

Even if he had a crude personality, when it came to battle and to their overall cause, Iggy was committed and willing to die to win and protect his allies. There's a reason that Part 3 and Jotaro are iconic in Japanese culture (Jojo for them is as much a cultural institution as like Batman or something similar). The anime adaptation is made with so much love and really elevates the material imo. The way they change the OP and make Part 3 feel like a culmination of everything that came before is really powerful.

Something cool about the opening is that the singers are the singers from the three previous openings, to symbolize that Part 3 is the conclusion of Parts 1 and 2.
And the songs ends with "sono chi no kyoku" which means "the memories of your blood", meanwhile the opening of Part 1 ends with "sono chi no sadame" which means "the fate of your blood".
    Pretty damn cool

The most ridiculous/funny parts of part 3 to me have to be one of two things: The Oingo Boingo Brothers and how they tried to kill Jotaro only for fate to make it backfire, like how the orange came back or Polnareff forces him to do the cigarette trick in his mouth. The other thing that made me laugh so hard was the Bastet’s Mariah moment. Avdol and Joseph are magnetically attracted to one another and Araki literally does the most wild thing of having them try to get off of each other only to have it appear as though they’re doing the nasty. Like that caught me so off guard. That’s what I love about Araki’s humor sometimes is it’s so unserious.

  • @PrixtoTNT
    @PrixtoTNT Месяц назад +2

Overall the second half of Part 3 has more consistenly amazing fights. You can see Araki evolving and less and less fights being just resolved by "Ora Ora Ora!". Way more smart and strategic battles instead! They're very satisfying. Even with some comedy in between with Oingo and Boingo lol.
And what an amazing climax. DIO is teased so much and has so much final boss vibes that it's amazing that he's able to deliver. Everything from that fight is iconic, the dialogue between him and Jotaro, the knives, the road raller. What a blast

I´m really happy you're enjoying the show! And I believe you´ll have a LOT of fun with the next part!
Also, I think it´s interesting to comment that, in a lot of situations where coincidence was the main resolver with Iggy, like when he tripped the child holding the sword, or in the Oingo Boingo episode with him stealing cake and bringing back the tangerine, it´s an actual characteristic of the tarot card Iggy represents "The Fool"
The Fool is mostly associated with "new beginnings" and "Trusting the universe" in a way, but it also can mean someone whose decisions (also recklessness) and paths can lead to future and mold fate. In the drawings of the tarot card, it normally depicts a person walking into a cliff, seemingly unaware or uncaring of the danger their path is leading them, and behind them there is a dog, barking trying to warn the person!

The fact that Jotaro and Dio had such similar stands speaks volumes about the inherent natures of the two. There's a possibility that if they grew up in different environments, both of them could've been just like the other. Another thing tying them together is a connection to the ocean, for Dio its a negative one, and for Jotaro positive (him becoming a marine biologist and all).

Something I really appreciate of the final fight is how well structured the build up to it is.
First you have the main villain that has been teased and hype during the whole story (and who the readers already know since he is a returning character) finally fully reveal his face, being extremely intimidating, then revealing his ability which is absolutely terrifying and unlike anything we had seen before, then killing one of the characters to show it, and then finally reaching our main character for the final confrontation, making the villain "kill" his grandpa in front of him, and piss him off. But this isn't just any main character, it's Jotaro, who has been the embodiment of badassery and cool headed throughout the whole Part, and now you have him be genuinely pissed off and against the mail villain. Even the dialogue between the two before the fists is perfect, and that goddamn walk to each other.
What a masterful way to build up the hype for a final confrontation

You made these connections and new friends and now who knows where life will take you, and whether or not you'll see them again. But as one door closes, another opens. Time to head to Morioh, you're gonna love it there.

A fun fact about Jotaro is that he doesn't consider himself unemotional or hard to read, but... that's only because Holy, as the clingy and lovable mom as she is, always gets through his "fazade" and realize what he thinks and what he's trying to say.

My favorite part about the fight with Darby the elder is that the thing that finally breaks him is Jotaro telling him to bet the details of what DIO's stand is. While admittedly distressed, until then Darby still has confidence that he'll win. But the thought that on the slight chance that he'd lose, that he'd have to reveal The World's abilities and betray DIO was enough to make him absolutely crumble in fear, to the point of his hair turning white and passing out sitting up. Really solidifying the idea that whatever DIO's stand ability is, it must be terrifying, and further emphasizing the mystery around it
