In Hawaii, SPAM isn’t just a canned meat, it’s a big part of history and played a role in the island’s economy as an inexpensive source of protein. But times have changed since SPAM was introduced by Hormel Foods in 1937. Changing consumer tastes and competition from new brands

    My mom bought the millionth can of Spam and won a trip to Europe! It gave my mom and dad an opportunity to travel they would never have again in their lifetime in 1960. We ate a lot of Spam growing up.

    The first batch of spam was made back in 1937. Hormel recently announced due to recent popular demand they are planning on starting a second batch in the next few months.

    My grandfather said he ate so much spam while serving in ww2 that he'd never eat it again once he got out of the army! He didnt! Sure helped me feed my kids during hard times!

    Spam is literally sold out 😭 in some grocery stores because of the COVID19.

    Spam's part of my life. One of the better quality luncheon meats that I've tried over the years.
