- Rebuilding an EV Engine (GTI) for my GT. My first Golf Mk2 Engine so keep calm ;)
And no its not grease its assemblylube, wont clogg up anything, wont hurt, wont damage the engine, nothing....

what lube do you use to install cam and what type of spray are you using for intermediate shaft? thanks in advance
Its a assembly lube. from liqui mol,y. I just sprayed the shaft with break. cleaner.
Hi, I have a 1992 Golf cabriolet (mk1 bodyshell) with the 2H digifant engine... Am I right in thinking it's the same engine as the one in this video? If not, any clue as to where I can find a rebuild vid? Thanks..
its the same basically. the intakemanifold and so on are different.
Hint for next time: Slide some tubing over the rod bolts. The tubing will guide the rod onto the journal and prevent scratching.

Can this engine with stock internals handle boost? like 1 bar of boost?
No. G60 has a CR of 8 or alike. This is 9 to 10. And g60 runs way under 1 bar. Dont try it.
Did u reuse rod bolts or replace? Procedure you can share if you replaced?
Not on this engine. You can reuse them one time. VW says so... on the new engine Ive replaced them. Got a Video on that. Called pleuelschrauben
What about a Baffle/oil scraper- pan gasket? Did you prime pump? I use Vaseline. Love the Music!
I used a baffle yes. Not really visible but its on in PT2. Also prime the pump in PT2 but no vaseline needed. Just a bit of oil poored into it and turning it by hand a bit (so the oil sticks inside the gears to seal).
I believe your work as mechanics is ok.
Unfortunately can not say that about video editing skills.
Next time just leave it raw.

ive cleaned them in engine cleaner. before assembly Ive used break cleaner to get the dust off

As far as i know yes they are different. Need to look it up. But why? Same stroke and so on 🤔 G60 block has some nice features...
No looks like they are all the same (golf 2 1.8). Since G3 they are different
