Sir I found it a bit biased, since you couldn't qualify for the IAS and were stuck in IES. Some points that I found erroneous; 1) District and Sub-division postings are generally for first 6-7 years, when your kids are usually studying in very small classes or maybe even they won't go to school. After that you are either posted at divisional HQs or State Hq, where education standard is okay. 2) a person who balances his work and personal life will have mental peace. It's a very personal and subjective thing. An IAS can also manage mental peace, while having a stressful job. 3) in IAS, you can choose either to be high profile or low profile. If you chose former, you would have people moving around you like a VIP, if you choose later, you can enjoy your personal life without people infringing your privacy. But you don't get this option in IES, you are necessarily low profile. 4) in today's world of Netflix, prime and other forms of streaming platforms, why would you need a cinema. Entertainment if also not affected, hence. Also, if you have a humongous bungalow, fleet of cars, army of helpers and the whole district under your supervision, you don't need any entertainment. Work profile of an IAS officer is very dynamic, which makes it perhaps the best service in the world. Most importantly, IAS can head officers from any other service (maybe not in railways anymore). IAS can head IES officers as well, which is the beauty of the service. 5) servants, cars and bungalows are some things with officers from.other services like IES have to worry about, but it's never a problem for an IAS.

But bhai state headquarters me ya central govt me bhi IAS is better as compared to other services. Correct.. an IAS can even become cabinet secretary who is the head of all civil services of India. But that is not the point here. Sir has already said in his very first point that IAS is more prestigious and powerful. He has just tried to emphasize that people should give more priority to what they like not what society likes. You love power and recognition then go for IAS and if you want to have some lesser power and recognition but time and place for hobbies and other things also then IES or any other.

And it's obvious because he himself is operating as an IES. So be it anybody, he/she would never talk anything bad about his/her job. Comparison can only be done by a neutral person.

I have seen IES leaving their job for SDM pcs. No doubt IES is good but IAS is at a far different level. DM sabko Pata hota Hai IES is kind of departmental. Power ke maamle mein SDM or DySP of state civil services are more powerful than IES or group A services. IAS or IPS are also at different levels.
No basis is same for all central government employee which is 35% so they have same allowances and salary the only thing ias have different is the perks i.e the got more perks as compared to ies because they have to deal with civilians that's it

IAS is king.They have unparalleled domination.No comparision can be made with them.I can talk in perspective like they are all India service, mentioned in the Constitution.But for the layman just understand that their Railway borad chairman, leave aside DRM or bla bla, report to the cabinet secretery.

IAS officer can head any departments,Even DM at the very young age,he has the authority to supervise any department in his district..Ias is the most popular and preferred service among the student,but lots of student even do not know your Service IES.As an officer you should have neutral mindset.
Only solution is the engineers should be independently given responsibility to complete projects and public services without reporting to ias , an independent post of chief engineer like chief secretary be created at state level and central level which can coordinate to all engineering departments

Sir, IAS mai special allowance 30% of basic pay diya jaata hai in some states. Whereas, only 10% in IES.

IAS is king.They have unparalleled domination.No comparision can be made with them.I can talk in perspective like they are all India service, mentioned in the Constitution.But for the layman just understand that their Railway borad chairman, leave aside DRM or bla bla, report to the cabinet secretery.
Your comment is biased,the points you are mentioning may be right,but people looks for authority and responsibility which can influence society to great extend,Why don't you compare in that direction??? IAS officer can head any departments,Even DM at the very young age,he has the authority to supervise any department in his district..Ias is the most popular and preferred service among the student,but lots of student even do not know your Service IES.As an officer you should have neutral mindset.
Only solution is the engineers should be independently given responsibility to complete projects and public services without reporting to ias , an independent post of chief engineer like chief secretary be created at state level and central level which can coordinate to all engineering departments

@Mystory Man! You are already working in a PSU ,some maturity is expected from you. Who do you think is happy with his job?? My college senior is an IPS still giving UPSC again and again. Does that make TCS better than IPS? Everyone knows IAS is the best but do you think even IAS are happy with their job?? Noone in the world can be completely satisfied with his job we are human we are bound to be progressive.
I left my job as I was not happy but I am sure some guys may be happy and they never compare with IAS or any other job. Get over this IAS demigod thing you can be satisfied in any job and at the same time remain disgruntled even in IAS also.
