you probably dont care at all but does any of you know of a way to log back into an Instagram account..? I somehow forgot the password. I would love any help you can give me
@Kameron Gatlin Thanks for your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm trying it out now. Seems to take quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
+Dieting On Classic if you watch the Deezer session of Tame Impala playing Let it Happen, Kevin's got a pretty expansive pedal board, including a switch in guitars where he starts using a Squier Jazzmaster with the GK-3 and the Gr-55 synth module. I think it would be sweet if they replicated those tones, because there are a lot of very unique tones that they can get; that lead tone at the end of Let It Happen is so sweet through the GR-55
being almost tragically of that time, of that moment, they were really special, well the scene that spawned them, at least. Because it was 100% ours. you had the pop-punk American stuff, and the realistic grime rap, and the indie as fuck strokes, and with the call backs to the smiths/stone roses/ beatles vibe, of exiting things from bleak northern towns, getting famous from people organically sharing their demos. And this will sound silly, but at the time it felt like No Compromise, like why haven't we been doing this all along? even if they were the most derivative thing ever.
+Wethewax how could anyone not like the monkeys? i've met people who are just "not their biggest Fans", but never anyone who genuinely disliked them. Even a Disturbed/Amon Amarth type of fan said they're not bad...
+Wethewax yes of course and everyone should listen to the music he/she likes :) maybe its bc they are not as hyped in germany and therefore less hated?
11:25 what he actually used was a 12 string he’d just bought. With an Octave pedal too. It was only Alex who played the riff if my memory serves me correctly.
I'm really loving these sound like vids, but I was wondering if you'd consider doing some sound like Bass players without breaking the bank... Tim Cummerford, Flea, Steve Harris, Lemmy, Mike Dirnt, Duff McKeagen.... Having seen quite a few of the series now, I have noticed that on more than one occasion the bass was really missing (GnR) or you purposely got an octaver to cover the bass (Tom Morello). And it would be nice to see what you guys can come up with on your limited budget. :-)
+TastyChevelle I wasn't taking the fun out if it, I was making fun of it! If you're genuinely interested in Noel Gallagher's tone, go here: www.dolphinmusic.co.uk/article/2472-the-complete-noel-gallagher-oasis-gear-guide.html
+Marcos Correa yeah.. Well, the sound can easily be done by swapping the stock pickups with dimarzio pups and the series parallel wiring. According to me, classic vibe tele(not custom, because the neck) will be the best. But... I really envy the contours :p and that drop D system.
YES PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DOOOO IT NOW OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG MUSE MUSE MUSE MUSE, THEY SHOULD DO OTHER MUSE ALBUMS TOO LIKE DRONES!!!!!!!!!!!
I think they've done a Sounds Like Josh Homme in an early Sounds Like, so yeah they've done him already but a Sounds Like QOTSA By Busting the Bank would be cool
Skrillex is actually a great guitar player. ..and if you knew anything about production and engineering, you wouldn't be making that joke. You don't have to like someone's music to appreciate their talents. ..but I guess you do need to know what you're talking about.
The Mooer Green Mile replica of a Tube Screamer can be had for half the price as the Donner Blues Drive. It's the exact same pedal in a differently painted box. So there you go.
Cant say i disagree with the generic songs and lyrics, but i like the front man. He's a decent guy (as opposed to most of the stuck up arrogant pricks that inhabit Brit and indie rock these days) and not the worst vocalist I've ever heard but i still like them all the same. I think we all have bands we don't think are great but still listen to them anyway.
sounds like Marty Friedman, rival sons, Alice in chains, mastodon, zz top, Aerosmith, David gilmour, Chevelle, Paul Gilbert, Ian thornley, candlebox, periphery, Eric clapton
haha awesome! It is, I prefer his Telecasters though. Too bad they didn't tour with ES in Brussels, saw Shikari several times, but AR wasn't support act for the dates in Brussels. I was lucky to see Arcane Roots on a festival though, 40 people watching, but so intense, love it!
Seen them 3 times on 2 different UK headline tours and they just get better and better, I've been tryna get a sound as massive as his for a while now, he's got mad skills on that guitar and gear to match!!
My 335 Dot has a couple of issues in terms of it's finish quality, but how well it stays in tune is the one thing about it that always amazes me. Maybe you got a bad one or I got lucky with a good one.
Mexican Strats are widely overlooked. My main guitar is a Custom Player from Mexico. Several guitarists who own American Strats said it was as good as the americans, if not better.
Great episode! You did a pretty good job on getting close to the AM sound. The only thing I'd have to criticize would be that you played the main riff on "Do I wanna know" wrong. But the rest was spot on imho, keep it up! P.S.: Do a Johnny Marr episode please!
Alex turner uses more jazzmasters, bronco (mustang) and lespauls now so you could have done that with the squire vintage modified guitars to reduce the budget, plus with the fluorescent adolescent riff you did, the fender does the chords, and the epiphone does the lead notes...
So here's small detail that matters - you should also take in account the money needed for the other essentials: a power source for pedals + all the cables, and these sum up to around 100-120 pounds.
Nailed it! I just saw Coheed and Cambria live again last weekend at a festival with a ton of great bands. Easily the best sound. Would love to see it here.
Do I wanna Know was recorded with a 12 String Vox for Alex's parts, and on Fluorescent Adolescent Alex is playing the rhythm/chords and Jaime is playing the riff...great series gents! /off to watch more
I always play Do I Wanna Know with a PRS singlecut, a fuzz and pitch shifter shifter set to octave down with 50% blend, and that works out great, so there are always multiple ways to get a specific sound!
Sounds Like Suggestions: - Matt Bellamy (Muse) - Ace Frehley and Paul Stanley (KISS) - Jerry Cantrell (Alice In Chains) - Billie Joe Armstrong (Green Day) - Larry LaLonde (Primus) - Tom DeLonge (blink-182) - Tony Iommi (Black Sabbath) - Billy Corgan (Smashing Pumpkins) - Thurston Moore (Sonic Youth) - Kim Thayill and Chris Cornell (Soundgarden)
Awesome series! I'd be cool if you guys could do a Sound Like for Cage The Elephant. One of my favorite bands, and I can't quite put my finger on how to get the sound.
Yes, Jimi Hendrix is one of the missing fragment here. Two very interesting questions are in the room: Will a new Fuzz Face Hendrix works, when Rabea turn the Volume of the Guitar down to clean and which Uni-Vibe working well in the Budget. Also there are Guitar-Artists, that could be very fine are: Lenny Kravitz, Joe Bonamassa, Eric Johnson, Joe Perry and Max Cavalera. Bands, that "Sounds like" Busters are: Slayer, Mashine Head, Black Stone Cherry and Rammstein. I love you guys ... "Sounds like" is one of the best channels on youtube.
Can you make a video about how to get the sound like Johnny Greenwood & Ed O'Brien from Radiohead? It would be wonderful! Thanks! Keep up the good work!
Sound like Doug Aldrich. Massive LP and Marshall sound w/ awesome delay tones. Can bust the bank with some Friedmans w/ the modded plexi tones or don't bust the bank with a DSL 40c. Getting his massive tone isn't super easy to dial in.
+Daxjagames ideally you need a vox, and a Marshall, and a tele, and a tube screamer for Francis modern sound rick is just vox Marshall and tele with a flanger or phaser I can't remember which!
Hey guys! Great video! You guys should definetely do pedal quest! I mean the type that Rob and Capn' did, but this time you would pick your pedal rig! It would basically be sounds like rabea and matt :D
rizhardd c very true. It's such a shame that a lot of Robby's guitar playing was drowned out by Ray Manzarek's keyboard and Rhodes bass piano. Not to detract from Manzarek as he was probably one of the best, if no the best rock & roll organists around!

@Kameron Gatlin Thanks for your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm trying it out now.
Seems to take quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Kameron Gatlin It did the trick and I actually got access to my account again. I am so happy:D
Thank you so much, you saved my account!
@Jaziel Augustine glad I could help :)
that's actually really interesting I didn't know that
The guitar tone on 'Do I Wanna Know' is actually all from Alex Turners Vox Starstream XII- a 12 String Electric Guitar
No Jamie Cook plays a part as well
Sound like The Strokes!
sound like the strokes please
that'd be awesome!
yes ive been wanting that for so long
A Jekyll and Hyde pedal will do for both guitarist of The Strokes :-)
don't forget the fender DeVille. Any tube amp will do but that one gets something you can't with something like the twin reverb or any vox amp.
Could you guys do a Sound like Tame Impala? The tones they get are amazing
Yes. They sound amazing.
this
rickenbacker/strat - blues driver, small stone phaser, dd20 delay, holy grail reverb - vox ac30/fender twin
And a lot of honestly one trick pony kinda pedals, that they use to full potential.
A kid: Can i have Arctic Monkeys to listen??
Mom: oh, but we have Arctic Mokeys at home
Arctic Monkeys at Home: 8:20
Do Tame Impala next!! Their pedal setup(s) are insane!!
rickenbacker/strat - blues driver, small stone phaser, dd20 delay, holy grail reverb - vox ac30/fender twin
small stone - reverb- delay- fuzz (sometimes)- compression - blues driver - diamond vibrato (lonerism)
JustSpencer same goes for innerspeaker
JustSpencer currents is similar too
currents' guitars use the boss gr 55 like on the moment and tliktb
That is the slowest I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor ever!!!
and the solo was sooooo wrong
Have you heard their 2018 version in studio? Slower than normal XD
Sound like Blur! or Cream, or Radiohead!
Cream. I always wanted to know a bit more about songs like "Tales of btave Ulysses" and "White room".
alphajames33 yes! :)
+alphajames33 for white room watch the ehx video of their pedal: the cock fight
Radiohead is going to be hard
for Jonny Greenwood, tele - delay, reverb, micropog - fender twin
Strat
Amp
Downstroke like your hand is on fire
????
Profit
Much musical snobbery.
+Wethewax fair enough
being almost tragically of that time, of that moment, they were really special, well the scene that spawned them, at least. +Wethewax yes of course and everyone should listen to the music he/she likes :)
maybe its bc they are not as hyped in germany and therefore less hated?
5:42 This made me happy
johnny marr
that would be amazing
Please! Nobody has/ had a clean sound down like Johnny did!
Yes!
People have to remember that this is on a budget so they aren’t going to buy a twelve string
jimi hendrixxxx
yes
right?!
yes
yes
It has been done before
Sounds like the smiths
Yeeesss, should that
tele/rickenbacker - compressor, delay, modulation, reverb - fender twin/roland jazz chorus
Marr
yeeeesssss plssss
ASAC Schrader wrong guitar, jaguar or jazzmaster
CHALLENGE for Rob, Captain, Rabea, and Matt: Sound like your favorite band for under 700.
11:25 what he actually used was a 12 string he’d just bought. With an Octave pedal too. It was only Alex who played the riff if my memory serves me correctly.
Do sounds like muse please next
pedals pedals and more pedals
i second this.
Including Chris Wolstenholme please
Yesyesyes
+Thomas Macken ye plz
Sounds like Interpol would be very cool. 2 guitarist so you'd have more fun with it. Slow Hands and Obstacle 1 are good examples of their style.
sound like St.Vincent
and/or Mötley Crüe Dr.Feelgood album
yeah
sound like Dr Feelgood themselves would be better :-)
Odd pair, but I fully back St. Vincent.
That would be f@ckin awesome.
ST VINCENT PLEASE
I'm really loving these sound like vids, but I was wondering if you'd consider doing some sound like Bass players without breaking the bank... Tim Cummerford, Flea, Steve Harris, Lemmy, Mike Dirnt, Duff McKeagen.... Having seen quite a few of the series now, I have noticed that on more than one occasion the bass was really missing (GnR) or you purposely got an octaver to cover the bass (Tom Morello). And it would be nice to see what you guys can come up with on your limited budget. :-)
OASIS
epiphone dot + any Marshall. crank everything and play G, D, and C chords.
+Jack Bruce and look awesome while doing it ;)
Stop taking the fun out of things. It would still be fun to see them do it.
+TastyChevelle I wasn't taking the fun out if it, I was making fun of it! If you're genuinely interested in Noel Gallagher's tone, go here: www.dolphinmusic.co.uk/article/2472-the-complete-noel-gallagher-oasis-gear-guide.html
Maaayyyybeeeeeeeee
if you’re gonna use his old strat guitar, makes sense to only play songs from the first album?
Sound Like Richie God Kotzen! Please guys!
Please yess! Cheap way to Ritchie kotzen! But.. Nothing can replace the flyrig 5 eh? :)
+Jasjit Gulati Yeah! But i'm thinking more about the guitar! His model is a little bit unique! It has some things that are not so normals.
+Marcos Correa yeah..
Well, the sound can easily be done by swapping the stock pickups with dimarzio pups and the series parallel wiring. According to me, classic vibe tele(not custom, because the neck) will be the best. But... I really envy the contours :p and that drop D system.
+Jasjit Gulati Of course!I think that the most dificult will be play his songs,because....you know kkkkk,he is an alien! So underrated.
Hahahaa.. Totally man. The guy is a genius. I tell my students, if they learn to play his one whole album, they will be sorted! Riff master!
If you search for Alex Turner, you'll find him using Les Paul Custom and Jazzmaster, but not specially Strat
In the early days he used a strat
Pearl Jam!! For all that is good!
Yes please, Stone and Mike (Ed's pretty easy!)
Yeeeeees! Do it. Do it now.
Screen shot, Hagrid with a full sized tube screamer.
😂😂😂👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Sound like lamb of god? Anybody? Nobody?
I for one would FUCKING LOVE THIS
YES
Yes
Boogie Mark Five is a bit over the budget, would be interested to see what they would go for to get the sound
Yess
In fluorescent adolescent the guitar parts are switched the original Alex plays the chords and Jaime the riff
sounds like origin if symmetry muse?
*of
*of
Yes, please!
YES PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DOOOO IT NOW OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG MUSE MUSE MUSE MUSE, THEY SHOULD DO OTHER MUSE ALBUMS TOO LIKE DRONES!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't think we can avoid this one!
Absolutely love these videos, please please keep doing them, make them as long as possible! So knowledgeable and enjoyable to watch
Gary Clark jr would be nice! love that nasty fuzzy reverb sound
Sounds like Queens of the Stone Age
I think they've done a Sounds Like Josh Homme in an early Sounds Like, so yeah they've done him already but a Sounds Like QOTSA By Busting the Bank would be cool
Well then how about sounds like Saint vitus.
+michael smubly Do you mean St. Vincent or is there a band called St. Vitus?
Yeah. There's a band called SAINT VITUS. They're considered one of the pioneers of doom metal (aside from sabbath and pentagram)
Sound like Skrillex - Without Busting The Bank
lol
Fart into a mic. Throw in some weird drum sounds. Done.
Skrillex is actually a great guitar player. ..and if you knew anything about production and engineering, you wouldn't be making that joke. You don't have to like someone's music to appreciate their talents. ..but I guess you do need to know what you're talking about.
aka Sonny Moore, former guitarist of post-hardcore band, From First to Last?
+PorkyD Lynd thought he was the singer?
would love to see if you guys can tackle Sounding like Matt Bellamy under-budget. THAT would be a challenge.
Now sound like the strokes or the wombats!
Sounds Like Kings of Leon would be awesome, they are not very complex guitarists but their sound is amazing!!
How about a sounds like steel panther
I would love this.
yes. this :D
All they would need is hairspray and spandex.
Yesss!!!!!!!!
And cocaine.
The Mooer Green Mile replica of a Tube Screamer can be had for half the price as the Donner Blues Drive. It's the exact same pedal in a differently painted box. So there you go.
Sounds like Thin Lizzy
Gary Moore recorded 1 album with Thin Lizzy.
Yes, please.
Dude you look like Van Gogh.
Yes but the only image of van gogh is painted by himself and other than bias to oneself he was also completely insane
Radiohead - Jonny Greenwood pls?
and Ed
Ive also requested it
I think this would be one of the more interesting suggestions i've seen scrolling down here. SO MANY PEDALS
Truueee
Suggested this many times!
Sounds like The Killers?
Yes. I love their music.
Do a sounds like Metallica without busting the bank or Green Day
Rob and Lee already did a video on this few years ago.
metallica all the way
Those are the two I want as well 😂
And didn't really get close :P
yeah
I look forward to these sound like videos. Best series on RUclips.
Catfish and the bottlemen
Same as this really tbh
YES.
What???? Catfish and the bottlemen have one of the most generic tones I've ever heard (doesnt stop me from loving them tho)
never have I ever heard a more generic band with generic songs, terrible frontman and terrible fans
Cant say i disagree with the generic songs and lyrics, but i like the front man. He's a decent guy (as opposed to most of the stuck up arrogant pricks that inhabit Brit and indie rock these days) and not the worst vocalist I've ever heard but i still like them all the same. I think we all have bands we don't think are great but still listen to them anyway.
most of these riffs are played slightly wrong, however i loved the video thanks for making it
sounds like Marty Friedman, rival sons, Alice in chains, mastodon, zz top, Aerosmith, David gilmour, Chevelle, Paul Gilbert, Ian thornley, candlebox, periphery, Eric clapton
Eric johnson, bonamassa
mastodon and David Gilmour have been done
("If I put enough bands, eventually SOMEONE will see ONE band that they agree with. Muahahahhha!")
DOWNVOTE.
A 'Sounds like' series for bass would be amazing
Sound like Arcane Roots!
fucking yes
Could not agree more!
haha awesome!
It's funny you mention this, Rabea's band Toska toured with Arcane Roots last year.
My 335 Dot has a couple of issues in terms of it's finish quality, but how well it stays in tune is the one thing about it that always amazes me. Maybe you got a bad one or I got lucky with a good one.
Johnny Greenwood and Thom Yorke of Radiohead!!
These videos are so great! Keep doing the good job.
I would love to hear some Opeth tones on a budget.
That strat sounds great!
Mexican Strats are widely overlooked. My main guitar is a Custom Player from Mexico. Several guitarists who own American Strats said it was as good as the americans, if not better.
+JamesShore1990 they're also really hit and miss. just based on my experience anyway. Americans tend to be a bit more consistent quality wise
+JamesShore1990 I own MIM Strat for 3 years and It's Amazing, especially after some upgrades :D
You guys should do sounds like Pete Loeffler from Chevelle..Love this series
Rocksmith just did a Chevelle pack
Awesome..Thanks for the info
+Andrew Stuart Unfortunatelly without including "The Gunman". My favorite song.😠
Maybe next time
so why go for a tube screamer clone instead of the TS Mini which is just as affordable and uses the TS808 circuit?
Great episode! You did a pretty good job on getting close to the AM sound. The only thing I'd have to criticize would be that you played the main riff on "Do I wanna know" wrong. But the rest was spot on imho, keep it up!
P.S.: Do a Johnny Marr episode please!
Sound like Red Fang.
Yes, my boy. That is a must.
I knocked my weed over while reaching to 'like' this comment
Alex turner uses more jazzmasters, bronco (mustang) and lespauls now so you could have done that with the squire vintage modified guitars to reduce the budget, plus with the fluorescent adolescent riff you did, the fender does the chords, and the epiphone does the lead notes...
ANGUS YOUNG BY BUSTING THE BANK
Easy.
Already did it
+chrisattigliato1 they did it without busting the bank
Original 1978 JMP with Angus Young custom shop SG, original schaffer vega, done
done, using a 2017 SG, a White Falcon, a Marshall JCM800, a Marshall Reissue and some other fx
Alex did use his MIM fender strat.. Arctic monkeys early album is actually easy/cheap to get since they also basically started with mid end stuff.
Sound like MUUUUSSEEEEE!!
Yaaaass
sounds like the pixies
If this is how you do stuff by ear after all these years... Damn. Literally none of it was right. (which is a recurrent trend i've seen here)
Maybe they just didn't listen to the songs enough space they couldn't remember the notes
i learn a lot from these 2 guys thanks for sharing your knowledge
Tame Impala or Mac Demarco!!
So here's small detail that matters - you should also take in account the money needed for the other essentials: a power source for pedals + all the cables, and these sum up to around 100-120 pounds.
Kings of Leon!
Nailed it! I just saw Coheed and Cambria live again last weekend at a festival with a ton of great bands. Easily the best sound. Would love to see it here.
sound like the smiths
that is a hard one
Talking about do I wanna know ‘clear very bitey strat sound’ strange considering it was done on a vox star stream🤣
Lmao ikr
Do I wanna know just sounds so wimpy with this rig. Especially on the chorus you gotta thicken up that tone
14:15 damn, NAILED it
Please do Eddie Van Halen! You've done other classic artists but not him yet. Please do Eddie Van Halen!
Do I wanna Know was recorded with a 12 String Vox for Alex's parts, and on Fluorescent Adolescent Alex is playing the rhythm/chords and Jaime is playing the riff...great series gents! /off to watch more
Sound like MUSE!!
I always play Do I Wanna Know with a PRS singlecut, a fuzz and pitch shifter shifter set to octave down with 50% blend, and that works out great, so there are always multiple ways to get a specific sound!
Sound like the Smiths maybe?
Sounds Like Suggestions:
- Matt Bellamy (Muse)
- Ace Frehley and Paul Stanley (KISS)
- Jerry Cantrell (Alice In Chains)
- Billie Joe Armstrong (Green Day)
- Larry LaLonde (Primus)
- Tom DeLonge (blink-182)
- Tony Iommi (Black Sabbath)
- Billy Corgan (Smashing Pumpkins)
- Thurston Moore (Sonic Youth)
- Kim Thayill and Chris Cornell (Soundgarden)
Literally asked for this sounds like on every video.... Please do Nothing But Thieves
OH MY GOD HOW DID I NOT THINK OF THIS
+Thomas Macken because youre stoopid?
+Yesto Idk maybe
Awesome series! I'd be cool if you guys could do a Sound Like for Cage The Elephant. One of my favorite bands, and I can't quite put my finger on how to get the sound.
Sound like kings of Leon
Do a Sounds Like versus episode, do one rig each and then compare and look who got it the best!
Props on the Agent Fresco T! I'm going across the pond to Iceland in a few days, but they're on tour elsewhere.
Sound like Robert Smith, The Cure
How do you guys always manage to change the riff only in the slightest way but it still manages to annoy me 😂😂 still love you guys
how about a sounds like Sonic Youth?
Do I Wanna Know uses a 12 string which is why it gets the wobbly tone because the strings are slightly tuned differently to each other
You really need to do Radiohead at some point...maybe something from Ok Computer, Amnesiac, Hail to the Thief and In Rainbows.
So much great EHX gear... I love my Memory Toy and my vintage Small Stone.
sound like Status Quo pleas
I'll second that 😀
Easy: DSL40 + telecaster
+Auric is it maybe possible to make the quo sound with a marshall mg15cfxms?
+Daxjagames ideally you need a vox, and a Marshall, and a tele, and a tube screamer for Francis modern sound rick is just vox Marshall and tele with a flanger or phaser I can't remember which!
+mandolingrass okay thankyou m8!! ;)
Hey guys! Great video! You guys should definetely do pedal quest! I mean the type that Rob and Capn' did, but this time you would pick your pedal rig! It would basically be sounds like rabea and matt :D
.....Still looking for that "Sound Like Muse-Without Busting The Bank" video......
Yeah you guys really nailed it on this one!
Here's one out of left field.....
How about "Sound like ROBBY KRIEGER without busting the bank"
One of the most underrated guitarists of all time!
A sg and lots of skill....
rizhardd c very true.
It's such a shame that a lot of Robby's guitar playing was drowned out by Ray Manzarek's keyboard and Rhodes bass piano.
Not to detract from Manzarek as he was probably one of the best, if no the best rock & roll organists around!
+Freddie Ellis i mean they both got there fair amount of play like peace frog is an example. Just two very amazing musicians, its just skill.
@@freddieellis8449 That'd be awesome, his playing on songs like Roadhouse Blues, L.A. Woman and of course Light My Fire is just incredible
This was pretty spot on
*without busting the bank
"our budget is 15 hundred"
AGENT FRESCO!!!
