DAYUM! Game changer. I haven't streamed in a few years so I am looking into getting back to streaming my D&D games. I used to have to use the VoiceMeter stuff to mix in mic, Discord, Syrinscape and desktop. This was one of the things I dreaded when deciding to get back into streaming my Fantasy Grounds games. So glad I ran across this before setting up by OBS.
it would've been amazing if you mentioned that this is a plug-in that you have to install. I reinstalled my OBS 2 times and didn't have this option until I googled and learned that I have to download this plugin separately. Thanks for the video though!
i am really excited to set this up. When it comes to recording the content and i were to drop everything into davinci to edit, will there then be the multiple audio tracks listed to play with them there as well?
Hi Hammer Dance, thankyou for the great video. Im having some difficulty and hoping you can help. I am trying to record the Audio and Video from WoW as well as the audio thah I am hearing through Discord as well as my voice when I am talking on Discord (using push to talk). I have set up the same push to talk key on OBS to match discord push to talk. Everyone on discord can hear me just fine but my recordings play back with no audio what so ever from discord. I have spent hours on this and cant figure it out. Do you have any advice for me?
I seem to have an audio issue either that or I'm not understanding it completely. I have no problem, capturing my game, audio and window. I have no problem, capturing my main microphone that will go to my stream but for some reason when I add other stuff, everything starts doubling my music,. I am not sure what my settings on my laptop should be as far as Audio. I would prefer anything on my desktop to go into my headphones Instead of desktop speaker. I have a source labeled alert that pop up through stream elements when somebody follows my Twitch account. That seems to work fine, but anything I try to use through my stream deck, for let's say crazy sounds airhorns I'm not sure how to route that or what type of force I should create any help would be much appreciated 8:02
Does this allow you to be able to adjust volume separately. As in music if I put it as a separate audio source in obs when I adjust the volume does it only adjust it in stream and not through my headset
Does this work the same way if you stream on console with a el gato plugged up between the console & the PC with the el gato chat link cable ? I want to split gameplay audio & chat audio & turn them on & off as I please. Or since I am using two different pieces of hardware to stream I will just need to get a XLR & what not ?
Thank you for your video much appreciated. I don't use voicemeter but I was using a different method to seperate the audio. But sometimes the settings would change for some reason which resulted in a DCMA. So I want to give this a go. But my question is. I use WinAmp for my music and I also have a plugin called Sound Alerts in which I have made some custom sounds from my music collection. Now I have added WinAmp. But if I want to add Sound Alerts do I need to add another source for sound alerts? Or is there some way in which both can be combined? Thanks
when I added certain games, it wouldn’t capture game chat on stream with Apex game it would capture the game chat so now I’m confused why my call duty game stream can’t hear the game chat who I’m talking to
Hi! I use a Zoom H8 as usb audio interface. I have connected 2 XLR mics BUT when i have to choice the mic 1 and mic 2, i can select only the Zoom H8 usb audio interface. I have put the mics on 2 different tracks by the advanced audio option. This way i hear the audio of 2 microphones together in two different channels. I would have one mic per channel. Any idea? :/
hey so when i record my games of xbox series X with a elgato hd60 hooked up to obs and voice meter potato it combines all my audio tracks back together when i go to edit them. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?
Hello, I tried this and was able to capture the sound from this youtube window while it is playing this video. My problem is that the sound is distorted, wobbly, and sounds like you're underwater.
With these separate tracks, how do I get my alerts sounds since I’m not letting desktop audio play and having a separate track for everything but I can’t figure out how to make one for just my alerts
Kinda late but I happened to catch your comment and since I had the same "problem" I solved in this way: in the browser source properties check the "Control audio through OBS" (or something like that) so that the alert sound reaches the viewers, but since doing this will prevent you from hearing them, go in the advanced properties of the browser source in the audio mixer and select the last audio monitoring option (the one that makes the audio source reach your headphones, so to speak). This way both you and your viewers can hear the alert sound without you having to rely on Desktop Audio.
how does the game audio work though i dont want desktop audio but if i want separate game audio its only for 1 game or i have to open each game and add the setting?
What if I want my music to play for my stream but I don’t wanna hear the music. I play cod and I can’t listen to music and play the game at the same time
Hello is there a way to do this without capturing my mic on discord the problem im having is my mic and my mic on discord is creating an echo of my voice
I’m having an issue where I added the url but only got an overlay without audio so I added another audio source amd used my interface now my audio and game sound is doubled
I’ve been playing Warzone 2 and I realized that the game voice chat is not going tru my OBS livestream but I can hear people on my headphones, need help I’m on PC
1) Right click on your Spotify Audio mixer, and select advanced audio properties. 2) on the boxes to the far right of your advanced audio properties IN COLLUM 2 check the boxes of the sounds you want to be in your VOD and make sure your Spotify track IS NOT checked. 3) Go to OBS settings in the bottom right of OBS and click output 4) First make sure you are in advanced settings, then click the check box next to the name "Twitch VOD Track" in the streaming settings section of output. 5) Select 2 for your Twitch VOD Track and test it out by going live real quick and watching your stream hope this helped :)
Look I really need help, I run a laptop and ps5 streaming set up and use a elgato capture card. My audio stuff is driving me insane. I have watched 100s of hours of different things that are suppose to work for my setup and commented and reached out to people via the comments and I don’t get help. I’m super desperate and would really like someone to help me. It’s making streaming very difficult when it comes to trying to get audio sources just right. Please help me hammerdance!
hello there i got a problem with my audio settings that whenever start streaming on twitch i can hear my voice echoeing 2 times a lot idk how to fix it i tried to fix mine and still the same
Is it possible to make it so that you don't have to make a new application audio capture source for every game you play? because it is kinda tedious if you have to set one up for every game...
U just have to change it every time u want to streaming. You only need to create 1 source "Game audio" and change the window to your specific games that you want to play.
Hello, I may need some guidance / help. Whenever I do Application Audio Capture (BETA), it doesn't add anything to my audio mixer. I'm still stuck with just my Desktop Audio and Mic/Aux. I am on version 28.1.2. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.
how can i do that discord not be hearing while streaming on obs studio for viewers? I mean all sound go to stream but Discord only I can hear in my headset. It is possible?
According to the tutorial on the video yes you can, i didnt tried it yet but you can set it up to capture the audio of the game window and mute the Desktop Audio, that way it will capture only the audio of the game

Absolutely brilliant tutorial, thank you so much for this!!
THANK YOU!
2 hours from my first stream, life saver!
That was interesting yet informative and I'm glad that obs has new things
Thank you, I was going crazy trying to figure this out.
couldnt figure this out for awhile, thanks
Thank you for making a short and simple video explaining this in detail! Epic video!
awesome feature! I'm loving the OBS master class! THX for all the effort.

About time! The audio mix update will make my life a lot easier now
i cannot find the application audio capture option what do i do
And is streamlabs prime worth it?? And btw I started streaming recently and you vids helped a ton to get me streaming at1080p60

thank you for the video

Just curious how do you have all the stream information etc on obs?
What do you mean? Not sure what you are asking, could you elaborate?
@Hammer Dance on the left side of obs says stream information, twitch activity feed, then you have twitch chat on right side. Is that a plugin?
@@TFCarbon No it's under the Docks tab at the top

so, if you add an audio track for Runescape, but then you go and play portal do you need to add a audio track for that game?
Well, I suppose that can work, but maybe you can just simply change the window of the runescape audio track to your new game window
how can i split spotify off so that it doesn't play in my VODs while still being able to hear it when live on stream?
1) Right click on your Spotify Audio mixer, and select advanced audio properties.
2) on the boxes to the far right of your advanced audio properties IN COLLUM 2 check the boxes of the sounds you want to be in your VOD and make sure your Spotify track IS NOT checked.

hope this helped :)

how to separate audio and video
Hello, I may need some guidance / help.

do you have the aplication open which u want to capture or mute?
@@Ryukekun Yes. But when I do everything, no track gets added to my audio mixer..I still have just desktop audio and mic.
So when i want to edit ‘game only clips’ how do i access that?
hey do you know how to separate sound from pc audio ? i mean i did what you did but still my pc audio recording from app
Advanced audio settings let you set audio track per output, and then in overall settings which tracks to include in recording.
how can i do that discord not be hearing while streaming on obs studio for viewers? I mean all sound go to stream but Discord only I can hear in my headset. It is possible?
According to the tutorial on the video yes you can, i didnt tried it yet but you can set it up to capture the audio of the game window and mute the Desktop Audio, that way it will capture only the audio of the game
@@kored6610 thanks for answer! Now must find the video about that… but it will be hard.. maybe You know where can i find it?
is there a way to reverse it, so that it instead just doesn't let discord through?
You have to select discord as an application to record, then you can just turn down discord in the audio mixer ^-^
Does stream labs have this
I had no idea that this existed... I thought it didn't exist just like global warming
this didnt work. it just created a loud feedback loop.
