Awesome! Thanks a lot!! After watching 5 other tutorials this one nailed it!
So your tip for the expander filter is game changing for me, I can't believe how incredible it's working. It's very effective!
Thank you so Much for this video, I've been watching so many different videos and getting frustrated because nothing was really sounding right when I record. I just found this video this morning and did a test recording and the night and day difference is unbelievable. I can't wait to jump in and do some new recordings. 🤗
So happy to hear! Glad it was helpful!
LITERALLY PERFECT
This was an excellent tutorial! Good job sir!

Hey so I watched last night and recorded some videos and just wanted to come back and say thank you. I've watched so many videos and none of them made me satisfied with my sound. This has been going on for years lol.
Thanks again man.

u nice video Dude thanks :)
Hope this tutorial helps :) Let me know if you have any questions!
How do you have a sepeerate track for "desktop audio"? I only have a mic/aux that fluctuates when my desktop plays any audio AND ALSO picks up when I talk.. not sure how both my desktop audio and voice are being picked up into one track.. can anyone help!!!
that is weird, mine just defaulted to that. I know for people on mac it can be different and you have to manually add it so might be worth looking at a video for mac users to see@@IzzyMojica
Hello, sorry for bothering. I have a question - I record with OBS, my mic is headset Marvo HG 8935. When I record, I hear some hissing, like.. high frequencies. Not too loud, but I hear it. I tried to record with any filter, with or without them, even in Audacity I can hear that. Maybe you help me?
P.S. I noticed, this hissing comes with any mic.
@@IzzyMojica well, i think i'm bit late XD
When you open Advanced Audio Propeties, you see all to the right the "Tracks", you have to put in different tracks your mic and whatever you want to record, Example: My microphone is in Track 1 and the videogame is in Track 2, so if something from Windows pop up with a sound, its never going to add to the Record.
Other important things is, in "Source" i put "Application Audio Capture (BETA)" and there you can select what audio you wanna record, a video for Chrome, music for any music player or a specific game, again in "Advanced Audio Properties" uncheck all other Tracks and check only 2 or depends on you, more tracks but never the same as the other, like i said before: my microphone is in Track 1 and ONLY in Track 1, the other ones are uncheck and for videogame in Track 2 and only in Track 2.
For last: in Settings for OBS, Output, don't forget check the Audio Track numbers you are using
@@d66user-purple13 I noticed hissing at first too using my blue yeti when I listened back to my stream, luckily the mic I use has a knob where I can mess with the gain settings, that worked somewhat but then I added another gain filter on OBS and that worked perfectly! Maybe try this? FYI: Im not familiar with the mic you mentioned, I imagine its a headset with a mic - if so, I'm not sure at all
Nice video. Better than all those flashbang noise without setting screens videos out there.
Thanks bro. Great video. I was searching someone who will explain me what's work of different filters in the mic section, so that I can increase my voice quality in my streams.
Since I don't have very good earphone so I need to improve my voice quality by any software settings only. And they way you explained each and everything, this will help me a lot.
Thanks again. 😊
So glad it was helpful!!
As a newbie to obs this will helps me loads thanks for a very informative video 😊😊
Awesome! Glad it was helpful!
keep up the videos man
thank you soo much i didn't knew my voice could be this good , lol you made my day
So glad it was helpful!
hey bro, I appreciate you making this vid. I just hooked up my ntg video mic to my streaming setup and its amazing clear... maybe a little too clear at times haha you can hear an inhale when i'm stuffy 🤧defiantly getting a thumbs up from me! 👍
Thanks for pointing out where noise surpression was
Thnx
Finally got my HyperX Solocast sounding great with this tutorial! Now to get a shock mount and boom arm to help with the keyboard and mouse sounds. Also, hearing myself speak, I've realized just how slow I talk compared to other content creators 😂😂.
This is the best one for beginners. Thanks bro ! It really worked well for my humble Boya mic
So glad it worked!!
You are a GOD and Helped me SO MUCH!!! lol THANK YOU!!!!!!
Glad it helped!! :)
Best Audio Settings and perfect guide
So glad it was helpful :)
thanks
Really high quality. Easy to follow. Great job! @5:15 if you have an nvidia GPU, you can look into the NVIDIA noise removal option.
Top!
nice
Thank you so much I dont sound like minimouse with a stuffy nose now. Now if I can figure out how those timelaps build vids are done I should be all set
So glad it helps! and yah it's nice to sound ok even when you're stuffy haha!
@@Chiselchip I am always stuffy I have bad sinuses so it is nice to sound better I am still learning so much and I really want to make quality videos.
Ong you perfect bruh perfect, I keep losing this video gotta save it somewhere THANKS DAWG ! FYI for anyone wondering I have the WA-14 classic condenser microphone, I’m guessing this varies depending on mic 👌
I would like to add that you should use a noise gate if your mic picks up your ac or pc fan in the background. I have a blie yeti condenser mic and instead of using the noise suppression i used a noise gate instead which sounded a lot better for voice quality.
The best clip on OBS sound recording, no yelling, screaming, or funny faces, just straight up easy to understand technical details.
Thanks! Glad it was helpful :)
Thank you very much for helping
Best tutorial ever learnt . wish our teachers also teaches us like this 😂😂
Haha glad it was helpful!
Can you possibly guide me into fixing an issue I have with OBS and my DAW? I'm using Reaper into OBS but I'm getting weird phasing issues I can't seem to fix. Thanks for the tutorials
Just one question. Why do you apply gain to all the noise and try to reduce it? Wouldnt it make more sense if you first removed all kinds of noise and apply gain to the clean sound at the end of the chain?
Good video but can u tell me how i can turn game volume up my viewers in stream said the game sound was very low
More grace
Hi there! Thanks for the video tutorial, I want to ask if I can use this same settings for my church audio settings during live streaming.
definitely! If you have obs for streaming, and the settings work with your mics then go for it :)
Thank you sir
Thanks for the video! I'm a female and my voice is low like a little princess and sometimes high pitch when I'm loud. These settings did improve my mic sound but I'm looking for something that might boost me a bit more. I tried SteelSeries Sonar which did make me sound even better and it allowed me to segment my audio to turn down if my game was too loud and so on but I had trouble with it. Could you do a video on how to setup Sonar too? All the other videos I've found don't help much.
what if you dont have an audio output selection what you hit the plus button in sources?
I use maono au 400 is a budget microphone and when I connected the mic and use your settings for mic but some is also coming when I speak when I not speak the noise is no when I speak bgnoise is coming so how fix plzz help
Thanks this video helped me a lot, but when i choose my headphone mic i get the two voice bars. Am using Hyper x cloud 2 headphones with mic but mic doesn't work so i bought a cheap usb mic and using it for obs. I have done all the settings in Mic/Aux then i tried your settings with the usb mic and it showed only one voice bar. So i check the advanced audio tab and the mic for balance is greyed out. Is this normal ?
how can i monitor the audio in OBS? I just hear my mic over monitoring on my zoom F3 (which i use as soundcard) but i don´t know what the audio is on the OBS output
i have 320 audio bitrate lower or higher is better? on this video you choose 128
Hello, any suggestion for settings for live stream leaks and worship? I use the behringer x32 along with atem mini pro. Stream bus is set to stereo. Any help would appreciated
Could you do a video because I cannot find one anywhere and not much online helps either but I can cut out the background noise when I am not talking but if I'm speaking it will pick up all sorts of things especially my keyboard or my desk and it only does it when I speak. Also on how to fix it cutting off words when I start speaking especially if it starts with an s or an H. I think if you made a video on how to fix these things especially the keyboard clicks when you're speaking because every video I've seen it just does it when you're not speaking but the problem and I I see online having it picks it up while we're speaking and you'd be one of you or only videos that would have one on how to fix this issue
great video!
I followed your guide exactly. I noticed I don't have a 3 band eq filter for some reason. Also, any reason why you don't use noise gate? That was the only filter i was using before.
So, i followed all of this and stayed pretty close to your numbers. In the end my voice sounded slightly under water. There was a faint hum in the background when i spoke but would cut out when i stopped speaking. Like the threshold was working, but almost too noticeably. One by one i deleted filters. When I got down to only noise gate and compression everything sounded great. I'd like to play with the settings of each filter but i'm so worried about fixing something that isn't broken.
Anyways, for what it's worth, the compression was a great addition. it should cut down on audio adjustments during editing. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful! And yes the thing to do would be to play around with the thresholds... the "Underwater" sound is an indicator that it is working a little to intensely for your voice frequency! As for the noise gate, I just like more how the Noise Suppression works a little better and a little more subtle in my opinion :) Glad you've found something that works for you, it's definitely very dependent on your voice as well as the mic you're using!
@@Chiselchip oh! and i really enjoy these videos
so it sounds perfect when i preview my audio with monitoring, but when i review the recording it sounds different like more BASS in my voice. any advice?
i did my first live stream on RUclips and the Audio was very low. If i record a Video with multiple seperate Audio Tracks in OBS, I don´t have this problem. But the live stream where i need to put Mic, Desktop and Gameplay in one single Audio Track, it was so quiet. What did i wrong?
Pronouncing of 's' ending word trails for a long that I'm unable to remove. Please guide me if you can.
*Hug*
So hard to set up so Only the mic picks up my voice but it always picks up my keyboard and squeaky chair
What microphone did you use
a rode nt1
I have no clue how to hear my mic in real time. I have a Shure MV7, but it seems to not like OBS. Sure, I can record, but trying to get a good sound out of it means recording, then remuxing, playing it, and doing this over and over for any minute change.
I do recall at some point hearing myself (with delay that comes from the processing), but now I cant find whatever I did. I know Im a ludite with things but still...seems like this should be a more basic function that I just cant find.
Great video, but one question, why add a scene as a mic, why not just adjust and change the mic your using in the audio mixer section?
Good questions and maybe I didn't speak to that much in the video, but the reason for that is so that when I have other scenes selected that it won't pick up my mic. For example, if I'm streaming and on the starting soon scene, then I don't want people to hear me or any noises coming from my mic until I switch to my gaming scene
What was the reason for not doing 320 audio ? becuse 128 is pretty noticeable in quality
RUclips only accepts up to 160 so unless I'm recording a music video and editing it, then 160 is the highest I go for OBS
I have an issue with the settings, I initially set everything exactly as in your video, but sadly my mouse and keyboard can still be heard in the background, I messed around and cannot seem to be able to find a solution for this. Even my gaming chair can be heard too at times. Which setting is specifically responsible for close background noises? Is it the close/open threshold one?
the OP used the noise suppression filter over the noise gate filter. you can tailor the background noise more with a noise gate, but the suppression is an overall easy fix, just not perfect.
Hopefully, someone can help. I was using a different software program, and it just wasn't working out, so I searched for other options and found this video. I've downloaded OBS and followed all of the steps in the video, but there's an issue. I currently have two microphones hooked up. Both are recognized and assigned in the Audio Mixer field. However, when I talk into my microphone, I'm being picked up on the other microphone across the large table. My microphone meter moves, but on the playback of the file, you can tell that it's not from my mic, it sounds like it's from a distance. I then went over to the other mic and started recording and then played that file, and it's close, crisp, and clear, so that microphone is picking up whomever sits in front of it. I then went back over to my microphone and in the audio mixer area of OBS I muted the other microphone across the large table, recorded a test file, played it, and this time it picked me up on my microphone. Why won't my microphone pick me up when another is plugged in? Any help is appreciated.
When i talk, the audio keeps looping in my headphones. I already muted the stream preview and when i change the output to my speakers, it doesn't loop. Is there something wrong with my headphones???
allow me subscribe as my appreciation. thanks for your help. now my mic sound better
Thanks! Glad it helped you :)
How would I add my external sound board?
if it runs your mic or something similar then you would set it to be your input source for that
voice actor from shredders?
doesnt wrok for me i have the hyperX quadcast s, everything is messed up i like to scream i lot and my voice is muted. i have to talk so quietly so it will pick up my voice
Turn down the gain (knob on the bottom) all the way. I have the same mic and I have the manual gain all the way off. Put all the gain into the compressor
I’m getting a delay on my microphone Lila a latency issue and it drives me nuts!! I wanna hear myself when I talk.. everything is set to 48khz.. Any ideas why my voice is coming in later?
there will always be some delay unless you have an interface that supports DSP, but it shouldn't be too bad, so try restarting it all, and also unplugging and plugging in the interface
setting/system/sound/input/"BLUETOOTH_MICROPHONE" do not allow your bluetooth mic if thats why you are here
Every single time I use a limiter the audio ends up sounding distorted on stream.
Might be that you’re over doing it, there’s a fine line with how far you can go without also being too much
Lol Jokes on you Im deaf in my right ear so I can only hear people in my left lol XD
1:50
Followed the tutorial and all i can hear is me breathing lol
Stop breathing.
I mean like loud 😄
hey idk if you can help me with this, but I separated my mic, and game audio. I test recorded it but for some reason whenever I put it inside of filmora to edit it, I play the video in the track theirs no audio. i tried searching an option and tweaking with the Audio track and their are like 5 different tracks i tried, They do not detect any sound. Idk if this is a filmora issue or what, but i really need some help. I've been having issues with Recording and my game audio is overlapping my mic audio so i tried seperating the two, but Filmora wont put in two seperate sources.
turn me up
