- Although it is winter and most of the time cold grey and wet, during the dry periods there are still some jobs that can be done. Today I will be planting some more spring bulbs and dig up the last dahlia tubers.

I like how your garden is not cluttered yet full of year round interest. I also find your videos so inspiring and uplifting. The bloopers are quite funny and relatable. Thank you for another great video
Thank you so much for your kind words 🙏 Very motivating to continue creating these videos. It really means a lot to me 🥰🍁🍂🌼
I have planted tulip bulbs as late as beginning of February and they bloomed beautifully in May. So it's not too late to plant spring bulbs in December 😊greeting from the north of italy (zone 8b)
I have never tried planting them in February, latest I planted them was December. Good to know that they bloomed well, thanks for letting me know. I think it would be nice to experiment planting them in different months to get a longer display of flowering bulbs in spring 😊🌷🌷🌷
@@theladygardenermy mum bought them because they were less than half the price, since they were sold so late in the season. So we thought, worst that can happen, we lost 3 euro😅 I always experiment, I literally got for free three dahlia tubers on October 18th, put them in pots, now I'm keeping them indoors and one is about to bloom. I know that I completely messed up with their natural life cycle, and I don't know what will happen to them, but for now they're alive and didn't end up in the trash bin. Lovely channel!❤
That's wonderful. I think if you plant the dahlias out in the garden in spring they might survive and return to their normal cycle. Good luck! 🌷🌼🍁🌸
Your video gives me inspiration and motivation, Linda! The boxwoods give the garden nice winter interests. It's been cold and windy for gardening :) I planted a bunch of alliums last year but none of them bloom. Not sure if the pesky squirrels got them or I may see some flowers the 2nd year like you mentioned. Not so much luck w/ Alliums and Tulips so far... :)
Thank you so much, it means a lot to me 🙏😊 Sorry to hear about the squirrels eating your bulbs. My neighbours have rats under their terrace that come eat some of my bulbs, but they do eat a lot of snails too. That's why I haven't grown tulips for a couple of years, now I grow them in pots that I keep covered. This autumn I have planted them in the garden as well, fingers crossed. Do you grow daffodils? They are poisonous so they won't eat them.
The garden, the lady, the soft voice... So much beauty in one video. Cheers from Barcelona!! 🌻
Thank you so much for your kind words 🙏😊 It means a lot to me 🌼

Hi, I have left half my. Dahlias in the ground with thick mulch and half, I have dug up, just to see which works the best. Thanks for the video. I am in the south of England 😊😊😊
Would love to hear your results. I was thinking about leaving a few in the ground as well, but last winter it was so incredibly wet that I didn't want to risk it. It would save a lot of work every year.
I will let you know how I get on.😊
So Beautiful Video ❤❤
Thank you so much 🙏😊
Thank you very much for sharing your very interesting video. Have a nice new week!
My pleasure, glad you enjoyed it 😊 Have great week!
Въпреки студеното време,градината ви е впечатляваща!Прекрасен избор на алиум!Поздрави и приятен ден!❤
Thank you so much 🙏 Have a great Sunday! 🍁🍂
I love your videos! I live in Georgia (USA, but heavy clay soil (same zone). I am so envious of your rich and easy to manage, soil. My husband is Dutch and I lived there 3+ years, Bennebroek near Haarlem. He is originally from Naaldwijk. Looking forward to your next video!
Thank you so much 🙏😊 I'm so glad you enjoy them. How nice that your husband comes from the Netherlands and that you have lived here. My soil is very well drained, but unfortunately not very rich so I have to add a lot of compost for the plants to grow well. I guess there is no such thing as the perfect conditions 😁
Same here in NC but if you continue to put compost and mulch eventually your garden beds will look as beautiful.
@ we’ve been here 7 years and every year we order 2 bags from soil cube and add to our beds, it’s a process but this year it was workable.
Tipje, doe je volgende vlog gewoon in het Nederlands 🐝🐞🌼🌹
Bedankt voor de tip. Mijn meeste volgers komen uit de VS en het VK, met Engels heb ik een groter bereik.
