    A clear and thorough review. Very helpful. As a result of reading your review, I just ordered a G2S and gateway and try them out. Thanks for doing the video, buddy!

    Fabulous video - loved every function that you showed on the device as well as the app! I really enjoyed it and was able to get setup in a few min after watching the video, thanks!

    great review thanks very much. You covered all my questions. After moving house I wasn't looking forward to putting in an old style controller with wires and solenoids. This type of wireless option looks about the same price (for 2 units / one gateway), much easier install, and more functional. I'll just replace 2 of my garden taps with dual outlet taps from Bunnings so the units can stay permanently in place.

    Hello from across the lake or pond,😂, east coast USA,, 🤧 politics aside, SMH, great video by the way,but I’ve had my G2-S system for 5-6 years, and it has helped me from so much frustration and the chore of having to make sure my lil garden gets what it needs w/o me having to do all the physical part, In the past I was to tired or just forgot to water my plants or garden, my dear wife has a white thumb, baby could kill a cactus,,stop laughing 😂 ,, but she is trying ,but doesn’t understand the signs of a good garden,, anyway I lov her,, bk to the point,, so my setup is worth gold it’s part of my sanity, I hate taking the time to grow from seed and it dies, I’m planning to get my parents house setup with it, if she wants it, ( it might be her therapy(respect) her way, plus she kind of hates technology sometimes, she doesn’t need scheduling she can just do what she wants when she sees what it needs, I rarely use scheduling also unless I’m out of town it would be useful, dang, I’m long winded, To everyone take care and respect , love an Peace to all, all Americans aren’t crazy it’s 11 of us left, 😤🤬😂

      G'day legend! Glad to hear the system works well for you! The scheduling side of things can get a bit full on, so I only use it really during a renovation of when I've got a specific reason for being super strict on timing. Still a great system tho, and glad you're making the most of it!!

    Thanks for recording that video , very informative and comprehensive . Question - what distance is your LinkTap device from your bridge ?

    • @thelionlawn
      @thelionlawn  2 года назад +1

      Hi mate, the front yard one is about 10 meters from the bridge, and the ones in the back yard are about 20 meters away.

    Love the look of this device ...the only thing I cannot find out is whether like the cheaper Holman units tap link needs to be winter protected for low temp freezing or frosts

    • @thelionlawn
      @thelionlawn  6 месяцев назад

      G'day - there is a section on the LinkTap website that covers winterising the units. I don't get temps low enough to worry about it here, but it is a very simple process of just removing them and shaking the residual water from them before storing them for the cold weather. I'm not sure if the web link will work, but try here www.link-tap.com/#!/faq/en/how-to-winterize-LinkTap-water-timer

    I found your video very helpful. I am anxious to get mine system set up. I have one question - where did you get the water splitter you show on the video. I have never seen one like that and I want one.

    • @thelionlawn

      G'day! Glad you found the video helpful! The water splitter is a Gardena brand that I bought from Bunnings. 🤙

    Hi mate, really appreciate the info here. How did these hold up over the last 3 months?

    • @thelionlawn
      @thelionlawn  2 года назад +3

      G'day mate - they're still performing perfectly. I had some cheaper batteries in them initially, which drained very quickly, but as soon as I replaced them with good quality ones, I haven't had any issues. Programming from my phone is still super quick and easy. Still two thumbs up from me 👍👍

    You don't need to add a filter after the linktap?

      Sorry - Only just noticed this comment! A bit late, but better than never! The LinkTaps are still going strong. I had one replaced by LinkTap free of charge due to a waterproofing failure, but that was a super quick and easy transaction, and now all is back on track. I plan to use them a hell of a lot this summer if we get the heat they are predicting, so they'll get a thrashing. 🤙

    Thanks for the review. Curious though what would happen if LinkTap goes out of business and their website stops working. Will the app still work without internet or is it manual-only if LinkTap goes under or you lose Internet?

    • @thelionlawn
      @thelionlawn  11 месяцев назад

      Great question. And to be honest, I have no idea! Fingers crossed they continue to grow the business and we don't have to worry about them going bust! 🤞

    How does the bridge connect to my modem? Is it just plug and play?

    • @thelionlawn
      @thelionlawn  Год назад

      Hello Birt, yeah, it just plugs into the modem at home via a spare LAN port. Then the rest you set up through the app on your phone. 🤙

    How has the system performed roughly two years down the track?

    • @thelionlawn
      @thelionlawn  5 месяцев назад

      Still works excellently. I had a problem with one having a fault due to water ingress to the internals, but after speaking with LinkTap they acknowledged a fault and had rectified the problem across their product line, and sent me a new one free of charge to replace. The scheduling and functionality of this system is excellent and still works perfectly for my needs. 🤙

      G'day John - Yes, you can install up to 15 taps on the one Gateway, so the three you have will be perfectly fine on the one. 🤙

    • @thelionlawn
      @thelionlawn  Год назад

      I suppose it depends on what you're comparing it to. Orbit and Holman both have similar type set ups for roughly the same price, using only standard WiFi. In general, they're not cheap, but compared to their competitors they're on par. Paying for the convenience of not having to stress about watering during the growing season is worth it, in my eyes. 🤙
