Been playing 42 years. This lesson is so friendly and easy to follow. I love the way you break stuff down and I’ll be studying a bunch more of your videos.
you probably dont care but does anybody know of a method to get back into an instagram account?? I was stupid forgot the password. I love any tricks you can give me!
@Mitchell Kasen Thanks for your reply. I found the site thru google and Im trying it out atm. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I tried to learn this a year or so back, but after watching many of your videos, and just playing and practicing, I was finally able to pull off some of the techniques you showed and thought "hey, this doesn't suck as bad as it did before!" So even though this is a three year old video, these are still very helpful!
love it. one of my fav songs by one of my fav bands from one of my all time fav albums. the most underrated band in my opinion. saw them in nyc earlier this year. i cried.
Awesome lesson! Made this seemingly difficult song SO much easier to learn. I like how you mix in the music theory with the tab/specific fingering too.
Beautiful!!!! Next comming weekend will have to play this song I love so much. Thanks to the people who requested and you Ryan for showing us how to get into the music we all love! You are GREAT!!!!
Hecks yah, awesome tutorial on a most classic, '90's band, thank you. Oh and nice strat too, I have a similar '73 but with the late, great custom shop builder Phillip Kukicki neck. And the Hendrix chord oh yah! Thus wanted to ask if you could do a tutorial on Castles Made od Sand? One of my favs have it pretty much down but would be great to have you share as Jimi was one of the best ever indeed. Cheers
WOW! Thank you so much and that was a pick me up for the day, and who says hearing your name and a dedication on the internet don't make you feel better? Oh that is right, no one lol. So in the beginning before the band kicks in, the walk thang and the B note is what I was so tire up on, good thing I have you doing all these cool songs and fulfilling requests when you have time and and thank you sincerely sir. Looking forward to your future videos and fun fun times.
Ryannnn man!, good to see you in a new video again, Candlebox rocks!, I saw the band in 2016 live amazing, thanks for your lesson you're the best man always smiling and nice, following your channel regularly, Saludos Madrid -Spain, good vibes.
Hello, just found this and you for the very first time. Great song, knew it way back when. Just needed a refresher course. There's a lot of things here I never got so thanks for that. I like your method. You go a little fast but that just puts a good pressure on me to keep up.
Big Pearl Jam fan here & it's awesome you have poster of Eddie's guitar. I'm a musician (bass player) & bc of being a drummer (1st instrument) then a bass player I also play guitar but I learn out of necessity... To be able to stand across stage from a guitar player & know what I need to do as a bass player. This was before I was introduced to the number system for live playing. Anyhoo, your videos are awesome to help expand my guitar playing. Thank you for doing these. You have gained a fan...
Awesome, man! Two requests: could you play the song through again at the end of your videos, this song, or whatever song you’re teaching? Second, could you campfire edition this song?
Oh I remembered my new request. Rhinoceros from Smashing Pumpkins, that would be a fun one! I been playing 1979 like 10 times a day since that lesson has come out haha
I've been watching your videos for quite some time. Love your teachings! Keep it up! One catchy song I've been wanting to learn lately and would love your take on it is: Blink 182 - Stay together for the kids Thanks Ryan!
awesome lesson loved this tune 25 years ago.. wish I had started guitar back then when I was 28..but hey better late than never.. they don't make tunes like this anymore
Hey Ryan! Love the vids! Wondering if you could do a lesson on "Missing" by Chris Cornell (covered recently by PJ). Love that song ,but there's something weird going on with one of the guitar parts I can't figure out and would love to see your take. Cheers!
I play My Hero live all the time but the very basic way as I'm a "screamer" and have to step away from the mic when I get to the "kudos my hero..." part...need to tone it down with some of these licks...I tried the Howard Stern version once live, but just got carried away...again ! 🤘
aw thank you Shelley :) Believe it or not the guy who wrote the crow is my best friend's dad. I've passed many an hour in his strange company, and even recorded guitar for his band, the screamin' geezers... fun times :) thanks for the cool request Shelley and for the shout!
I was going to suggest you follow this lesson on Far Behind up with a lesson on Far Behind (the Into the Wild one), but you've already done that one, so there's that.. :)
11/1/19. When you slid up from the 10th to the 12th fret on the B string, it set off the “No Rain” song by Blind Melon in my head. How ‘bout doing “No Rain”? .... I was hoping that RUclipsrs Kidbehindacamera and his pregnant girlfriend, Bridgette, would have had their baby on Halloween yesterday, but she hasn’t dilated to 10 cm yet, so it looks like they’ll have their baby girl on November 1st. Some commenter was suggesting to cut the baby out so she would be born on Halloween. This comment is sick, but it cracked me up. Ha ha! Take care, Ryan. EDIT NOTE: OK! I see you did “ No Rain” on February 8th, 2018, before I knew who you were, and you INTRODUCED your new Jimi Hendrix guitar, the SAME guitar your using in this video! This song reminds me of the “No Rain” song, and did you purposely choose this guitar to get a certain sound, or is using this guitar for these two songs just a coincidence? I’m going to watch all of your “No Rain” video now with your long “ Blind Melon” hair. Take care, Ryan.
oh but I have done an exhaustive video on No Rain, it's one of the very first songs I ever figured out by ear, way back when I was 12, and I love that song :) oh now I see you found it. well, those two notes ARE the same... and I'll say that it's not that much of a coincidence (though I didn't intend it specifically) as my other two options for a good tone for no rain and far behind are red telecaster and banana stratocaster, both of which are out of commission at the moment. I can't wait to get them back I miss them.
they're just something about you bro you're a step above the competition not because of your personality that's just 80% of it the other 20% is your badass.//you take meme as someone that didn't get the vaccine./if I. thought you did I just couldn't watch you you're too awakened right? I'm subscribed it's all I know
Great lesson! Thanx!! Mr Lendt would you be so kind as to consider creating a tutorial of Itsy Bitsy Spider. played in the style of Primus!? Thank you in advance, as to any consideration you may give my request! P.s. Happy Halloween to you & yours.

love it. one of my fav songs by one of my fav bands from one of my all time fav albums. the most underrated band in my opinion. saw them in nyc earlier this year. i cried.
WELL this was a good day for you then huh BA? Cheers friend :)
Awesome lesson! Made this seemingly difficult song SO much easier to learn. I like how you mix in the music theory with the tab/specific fingering too.
why thank you for that Bill, i'm glad you enjoyed that :)
First time seeing the intro/verse played right. I tabbed it and needed confirmation that the the opening G was at A string, fret 10. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
Beautiful!!!! Next comming weekend will have to play this song I love so much. Thanks to the people who requested and you Ryan for showing us how to get into the music we all love! You are GREAT!!!!

Love this song, looks fun to learn.
What a decade the 90’s were for music, what a contrast to now, or am I just getting old. Cheers Ryan
'twas a time before too much computer interference indeed. But now we can do this... quite the conundrum :)
Hecks yah, awesome tutorial on a most classic, '90's band, thank you.

Well done. Short, sweet, but covered it all.
thanks Max :)
Oh I remembered my new request. Rhinoceros from Smashing Pumpkins, that would be a fun one! I been playing 1979 like 10 times a day since that lesson has come out haha

🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
rawk (i can't do emoji's on my computer so I just say rawk)
G is a great soloing key. Sounds perdy. And the octaves are so perdy with of depth. This song hit hard to me because of bad divorce.
hugs friend
@@RyanLendt hugs!😇
hey ryan you're the awesomest! could you do "time baby 3" by medicine. circa the first Crow soundtrack?
aw thank you Shelley :) Believe it or not the guy who wrote the crow is my best friend's dad. I've passed many an hour in his strange company, and even recorded guitar for his band, the screamin' geezers... fun times :) thanks for the cool request Shelley and for the shout!
Omg I thought I was the only one who loved that song still listen to that soundtrack and medicine :)
John Shirley?
that's the man :)
What's the strum pattern you're doing on the chorus
I don't recall - I encourage you to pick your favorite and use that one :)
Can you do the entire lead?
that's not a terrible idea
I was going to suggest you follow this lesson on Far Behind up with a lesson on Far Behind (the Into the Wild one), but you've already done that one, so there's that.. :)
too bad we hadn't conceived of rabbit holes back then :)
That Jimi Hendrix guitar is sweet. I just think fender should have put the logo upside down. Thanks for the lesson.
i wholeheartedly agree with you - big miss on their part :)
Can u play the solo?
that's a good idea

I heard Candlebox ended up getting a pretty good drummer
