You do such a good job of holding your cross stitch pieces up long enough that we can take in all of the elements that you have stitched. Thank you. Have fun on all of your retreats!
Thank You Martha! I try to hold them up long enough, but then I worry I am holding them up too long, lol!! But I know just what you mean, when I am stitching and watching Flosstube I have to get my needle into the right hole before I look up and then they have already put the piece they are showing down, so frustrating!!! LOL
Since you posted this video I decided to binge watch your videos from the first one again. I've been a follower since 2021 so have been enjoying your videos since then and even more now that you have been my constant companion for the last 2 weeks. I have a few things that I thought of while watching the last 5 years of your stitching. Firstly, you are an amazing human. I love your ability to always have a silver lining on every situation. This was evident during the COVID period and even making chronic headaches something positive by tracking it in stitching. You are a true ambassador of the art of stitching with a variety of projects that will amaze any type of stitcher. 1. Did you ever finish the basement? No idea why this stuck with me?! 2. Which project is in the Winnie the Pooh bag? It is my favourite but I haven't seen it for so long. 3. No idea how old your dad is but he must be far on in years. It amazes me that he can still do such beautiful woodwork. 4. Please finish Serenity Harbour so that you can send it to me. It will look fabulous in my imaginary dream house. 5. Please please please do a kit parade. I wanted to ask about a kit that you got years ago but can't remember what it was... 6. My favourite videos are your Maynia planning videos. Guess that is why your channel is Handwork-maynia-k. I think you should continue to 31, then plan to finish most of your pieces before 2032 so that you can start again. 7. I can't wait till the end of the year when the finishing frenzy hits you again. I am always in awe at your seemingly inhuman way of actually finishing giant projects. I am sure there are a lot more things I can't remember... Thanks for being you and making us part of every chapter in your stitching autobiography.
Oh my goodness, I think this is the nicest compliment I have ever received! Thank You from the bottom of my heart :) 1. No, lol, that particular room is still unfinished and is used as a storage room, and exercise equipment room. It is the only unfinished room in our house. 2. I LOVE that Winnie the Pooh bag as well, it brings back so many happy childhood memories. Right now, it has the Ellen Chester Swan Sampler Whitman tin project in it. It is a smaller bag so has to have a smaller project in it :) 3. My dad is 86 and has a tremor, so woodworking is getting harder for him, but he still loves it :) 4. Laughing hard, OK!!! Are these my marching orders? I sooo love that piece, not sure why it is taking soo long, probably all of those SALs I keep starting, lol! 5. Hmmm, maybe I should do a kit parade for my flosstube-a-versary which is this week. 6. Ooooh, I like your thinking!!!!! I don't think I need much encouragement to just keep going to 31, lol!!! 7. I feel the finishing frenzy creeping up on me, and I can't wait to see how much I can get done now that I am retired :) Thank You sooo much, your comment made my day :)
I thoroughly enjoy watching your flosstubes. The diversity of your stitching projects is amazing! You find designers I've not encountered, my favorite designers and everything in between. I am excited for your retirement just to see what you accomplish. Even being under the weather, you haven't disappointed. Keep up the great work.
Hi 👋 nice to see you again Brenda 😊😊,, my heart ♥️ smiles when I see that you have a new video ,, I really enjoy 😊 to see you ,, you are always an inspiration for all the stitchers in the world 🌎, thanks for share all your beauty’s,, and to always show the love of the cross stitch, god bless you ❤😊😊😊😊
Lovely to see you back again - I've missed your flosstubes. Sorry you've been sick and glad you're better now. You've got loads of stitching done as always - beautiful work!
So happy to hear you had an exciting start to your retirement ( apart from the sickness of course) loving catching up with your progress. Thanks for sharing. 😊
I love Stitchery XPress! Cindy is the greatest! Thanks for sharing your wonderful projects with us. Now I'm inspired to go split all my pieces up into sections so maybe I get some progress on them. Have a great day!
You are very welcome! Cindy is fabulous! I got the idea of splitting a piece into parts from Jessie Marie @JessieMarieDoesStuff. It works great if you can keep up with your own schedule, lol!
I have been missing you so I was happy to see your video pop up.😊 Your Counting Puddles finish is lovely. The background stitching looks like embossed relief work. Oh, I love your Dimensions charts and charms piece. Two strands make the colors so vibrant. Congratulations on your gold, silver, and bronze medals.😂 Great wips, but I have no idea how you keep up with all your SALS. Lol.
Brenda I just love watching your video!!! You have the most gorgeous different kind of charts and your stitching is beautiful!! Have a great time at your up coming retreats. I will be looking forward to your next video. Happy stitching, Lynn
You always excel with the amount of stitching that you accomplish. I just love the Jeanette Douglas Matter in Hand pattern so I went and purchased the pattern and I’ll be starting it as well in October. Take care 😊
So fun to see your WIPs! The band of roses on your sampler is so beautiful 😍 I also really love the kit of the red/orange door with the flowers around it; you're right in that the wool floss gives such good coverage! Thanks for sharing so many beauties with us. Happy stitching 💜
Beautiful stitching! I laughed so hard when you said about the Olympics - it seems our TV was turned on almost all day during the Games!😂 It was very fortunate that there's only a small time difference between France and Greece ! Thank you for your time!
Nice to see you again! You made a lot of progress on a lot of things. I started The Olympic Gnomes during the opening ceremony of the Olympics and only worked on a few other projects during that time. I finished it on August 19th. That's unusual for me to finish something that size that quickly. I tried to do my medal stitching as 100 stitches on my Gold project, 80 stitches on my silver, and 60 stitches on my bronze project for each medal of that kind the US won. That turned out to be a lot of stitches. I managed to finish the silver stitches but have not done the other two yet. We'll see if I get there. Definitely rethinking that for next time. Have fun at the retreat!
Hi Maryann! I love hearing about your olympic stitching! What a great idea to have a gold project, silver project, and bronze project! I love tweaking my plan every year as well :)
Such a joy to see your WIPS! I can’t believe your books are almost done! I remember when you started! I’m just now starting the birdhouses! Wish I had done the SAL! So glad you are enjoying retirement! Gentle warning…Time will go by much faster…I’ve been retired 17 years and it flies by with happy stitching!! I’m slowly adding to your Covid inspired HAED The Stitching Shelf!!
Thank You Susan! Yes, I can already see how fast the time is going to go, so much fun and so little time, lol. So glad you are enjoying the Stitching Shelf!
The Olympic Gnomes was great fun! I am glad you are celebrating retirement with lots of retreats…I hope the ill health is behind you now. As always, fabulous stitching. 🦉🧵🪡🌻🔆
It is always fun to see your progress. Watching your daughter in law’s friend stitch the mouse was so fun. So proud of her that she did not give up. Hope to one day see the stocking she is stitching for her son.

Hi Brenda I loved seeing your WIP's and your stash. If you get a chance I would love to meet you Stitchery X-Press. I live only 5 minutes away from my home. I finished my Heidelberg castle Sept 10th and will be taking it to Michael's to have it framed and matted and to give it to my hubby. When we lived in Germany for 6 1/2 years we went to this castle several times and it is his favorite. I also have been working on my WIP's that I started this year and love it and hope to have a couple done. Happy to know you are feeling better. Enjoy your retreats and especially your retirement. In the meantime Happy Stitching and be safe and kind. God bless Pat
Hi Pat! I will try and remember to let you know when I will be there! It is usually a last minute decision, lol. I bet your Heidelberg castle is stunning! Congrats on getting it finished :)

A trip to Alaska and two times sick - talk about fun and no fun. Good thing the trip and the retreat made it all as worthwhile as possible. The X-Press retreat sounds wonderful but I'm already signed up for a stitching cruise to Alaska in September 2025 so I'm fairly sure getting more time off from work for that retreat would be impossible. Absolutely beautiful and fun work. Thank you for sharing. I am older than you but would like to ask how can you see 40 count material to stitch? I must say that right now I am working on32 count and it it slow going and difficult to see even with a magnifying glass and light. Truly enjoy your videos.🌻
Thank You Vicki! I have monovision contacts (one eye sees far and one sees close) so I don't need reading glasses to read. But I use 3.5 reading glasses to stitch (3.5 magnification), and I always make sure I have good light. And it probably helps that without my contacts or glasses I am very near-sighted :) Being able to see the stitching is definitely a concern, and I always tell people to work on the fabric count that is comfortable and enjoy it :)
Wow! This was full of fun! I really want to do the fabulous houses and now after seeing yours even more! I love your books project, the colors are just gorgeous and watching it come to life has been amazing!! I am still tempted to join the Oct to Oct SAL... we will see. I have the one for last year kitted up and ready to go!! I just kitted up Indigo Lane which arrives today!! Thanks for the great flosstube!! ❤❤❤
Hi Brenda, I’m curious about your Jeannette Douglas SAL. I just bought a pattern of her, the seasons by the sea sampler. I never done one before so I will be happy to see your progress. Happy stitching❤
Hi Sophia!!! My friend Becky and I will be starting the Seasons by the Sea set on November 1st!!! We are going to spend three months on each season and start with winter on Nov 1. We would love to have you join us! And the "Matter in Hand" SAL will start this week and go for a year. I love her patterns :)
@@Handworkmaniac Thank you for inviting me. Do you have a hashtag SAL which I can join? I just studied the winter by the sea pattern and I will try to hop on with Becky and you. That would be really nice. I’m not sure yet if I can start just on 1 November, but I will try as soon as possible.
Brenda I was able to get the Charts and Charms Living Ocean. Was the Aida just called Light blue that you ordered? I think I will do mine on 14 count too. Thank you Also sorry your were so ill after her holiday.
Hi Brenda. Long time watcher! Love what you do. I'm looking for the name of a piece that you were working on in the past. It's tall and skinny and features boats and bodies of water with a green leafy border. I remember the pattern came out in many different parts, not as one big pattern. Does this ring a bell?
Never mind! It was the thumbnail of one of your previous videos! I'm so happy I was able to find it. Your channel is one of my favorites. Thanks for all the stitchy content.
Hi Abby! So sorry I am so slow in getting to my comments! I am thinking you are talking about Serenity Harbor by By the Bay Needlearts. So glad you found it!!! I LOVE that one!!!!!
Hi Jennifer!!! LOL, I didn't realize that I must not mention him much! Yes, happily married for 38 years, and he is wonderful at realizing how much I love stitching and how much time I want to spend on it. He recently retired, but always worked a day job as well as running his own business at night and on weekends. So he was busy and away from home a lot :)
Sometimes people bring a gift for the people at their table, or a treat to share with the table. And a few people bring small gifts for everyone at the retreat. But it is definitely not expected, and there is no obligation to bring gifts for people :)
Hi Beth! I do, I will post a picture on my instagram account today and I am planning on making a video today or tomorrow and will show them as well :) Colette, "The Highway Stitcher" on RUclips and Instagram may have already posted a picture of the monthly sections.
You do such a good job of holding your cross stitch pieces up long enough that we can take in all of the elements that you have stitched. Thank you. Have fun on all of your retreats!

Hi Samantha!!!! I thoroughly enjoyed your WIP parade, you videos are wonderful!!!!!! Thank You for making them, and sharing cozy stitching :)
Brenda
I was able to get the Charts and Charms Living Ocean. Was the Aida just called Light blue that you ordered? I think I will do mine on 14 count too.
Thank you
Also sorry your were so ill after her holiday.
I'm so glad you found it! Yes, it was just called "light blue" aida by Zweigart. Thank You :)

Thank You Mel!!!!! I am missing seeing your stitching! :)
Oh my gosh! I didnt know you had a husband! I never heard you mention him before. When do you find the time to do your beautiful stitching?
Hi Jennifer!!! LOL, I didn't realize that I must not mention him much! Yes, happily married for 38 years, and he is wonderful at realizing how much I love stitching and how much time I want to spend on it. He recently retired, but always worked a day job as well as running his own business at night and on weekends. So he was busy and away from home a lot :)
I thought the first one was the sun with rays??
Oh my goodness, you are sooo right! LOL!!! Sometimes I wonder about my brain :)
When you go to a retreat, does everyone give each other something?
Sometimes people bring a gift for the people at their table, or a treat to share with the table. And a few people bring small gifts for everyone at the retreat. But it is definitely not expected, and there is no obligation to bring gifts for people :)
@@Handworkmaniac Thank you for the clarification!! I hope to go to Stitch West and want to be prepared.
Brenda, do you have the monthly sections for Matter in Hand?
Hi Beth! I do, I will post a picture on my instagram account today and I am planning on making a video today or tomorrow and will show them as well :) Colette, "The Highway Stitcher" on RUclips and Instagram may have already posted a picture of the monthly sections.
@@Handworkmaniac Colette emailed a picture to me. Thanks!
Why did I think you lived in Michigan!?
LOL, I do LOVE Michigan! But no, I have lived in Utah all of my life.
Beautiful projects! ❤
Thank You Judy!
