How the hell does anyone come up with a song like this? Even the lyrics like “I’ll guess we’ll just have to adjust” and”You better look out below” are so perfectly placed. A true modern work of art. No wonder Bowie loved them.
When I first heard this song I thought the lyric was “you better look out for love” implying beware of it and I always kinda preferred that
@@jaredsullivan7136thought the exact same. But I’m terrible at hearing lyrics. Almost every song I get them wrong, and when I find out the true lyrics it kind of spoils the song for me!
“How the hell does anyone come up with this song”
Feel the same with any great song. It blows my mind that on a Tuesday some day years ago this song didn’t exist, and then a bunch of humans, probably in a rehearsal room somewhere, banged it out, and by Wednesday the world had been given this amazing piece of art as a present. Truly amazing!
Arcade Fire are just exactly that, pure 🔥
Didn't know Bowie rated them ....but I'm not surprised ❤
I have my father intubated because of covid since may/20. I just wanted him to hear this song once more. we are fans of arcade fire and we went together to watch it at lollapalooza 14 here in Brazil.
he always told me I was born on a cold day, every year he called me to tell me. It makes me sad to know that tomorrow he won't call me.
forças, de coração.
Força mano! ❤️
best wishes to you and your family friend, hope he pulls through.
thanks everyone for the positive messages. unfortunately he couldn't resist and left us on June 24th.
@@cadurpo Sorry to hear that. Cherish the good memories like I do with my dad, who died due to an accident on August 9th 2020.
I've said it before on here and I'll say it again. These guys are some of the most talented multi-instrumentalists on the planet
Absolutly right!!!!!!!!
I like that Band so much😍😍😍😍
Spot on Jason
I'm 74 years old and this is, in my opinion, one of the best bands in my time. Never seen them and probably never will so will have to settle for their albums and videos like this but with the excitement they generate even on video it is probably for the best, old heart might not survive a live performance.
They are great
one of the BEST moments from (entire) GLASTONBURY history for sure.
We’re you at all the others then? - highly unlikely

One of the greatest festival songs ever written....There's something in every part of it that the crowd can get involved with!
More than a music, it's a hymn !
yep - you get the whole 'cult leader' vibe from Win when he's looking out at the crowd singing back his sermon...
This is easily the themesong of my youth. I feel like I just blinked and all these years have already passed. I’m thankful for having found this in youtube. It literally brought me back and almost had me in tears. Beautiful memories.
One of the greatest songs of all time!
Funeral is such a difficult album to top. Cracking song !
they haven't done anything to top Funeral since - but that's okay because nobody else has either
They topped it with the next album.
THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS ! IN MY OPINION THIS LIVE PERFORMANCE IS THE GREATEST PIECE OF MUSIC AND SONG OF THE 21ST CENTURY, NOW AND FOREVER !! I PRAY THAT YOU TUBE NEVER REMOVES IT !!!
Best download it just in case they do anyway -!
So many different instruments on one stage, live! Love it
i always feel a great joy when i get to a gig and see a load of weird instruments set up on the stage
Yeah, it seems they've got every instrument except the bagpipes! XD But given the way they incorporate so many instruments in their music. You never know. The band is a bunch of musical geniuses.
if you don't get or feel it you're not alive. It encapsulates all of life in all it's passions and lessons.
Simply one of the best live songs and performance I've ever seen and heard.
Such a perfect pop song!
This song still blows my mind. So unbelievably good.
Didn't have a favorite music group until they came along.
This song is from beginning to end, flawless.
This song always takes me back to some of the best memories in my life. Man, I hate growing old but I'm grateful I'm still alive so I can hear this song again.
And, there is glory here. Gratitude.
its simply the greatest human anthem ever written
Anthem is the word that came to my mind as well.
Never tire of seeing their passion
2:45 is one of my favorite moments ever in a live music video. So awesome
My favorite band ever😩
One word: sublime.
I cry like fuck every time I here that intro live…shit.
I need the full AF glasto sets please, I enjoyed watching on iPlayer last year.
I saw these guys live right around the time they released Reflektor. They were awesome, 'intervention' was the stand-out.
The best thing that ever came out of the Mormon Church. Excellent work.
Fantastic band and great music !
Every single time I think I find the best version of this song BOOM I come across this. Maybe ive found it before? Doesnt matter because it feels like the first time ever everytime with this song.
What a fucking kick ass song, the band, the performance??
They truly are TREMENDOUS 🙌❤️
Que show mais lindo, me arrepio com o refrão dessa música, que banda, que músicos talentosos, Arcade Fire te amo ❤️
Such a powerful anthem. Revered
So good.
Wow. This is honestly mind blowing.
i wish to experience this one day with Basketball Shoes by BC,NR
I am on the loop...mesmerizing!
The 2007 version are the best live version of this song.. the energy of the whole group was really raw consider that's prob the 1st time on the main stage of any festival. The energy was so bloody good.
That was on Glastonbury's second stage and they were followed by Bjork.
I was there and both them and Bjork were incredible. Seeing this brings back so many good memories. It was also the best night as it didn’t rain, unlike the rest of the weekend!
The 2007 'version', that collection of musicians, was the best at performing everything they had written to that point, live. They haven't come anywhere near it since. Apart from the energy of the permanent band members there was total, unwavering commitment from Marika, Colin and Kelly, all musicians at the top of their game. Polyphonic Spree with real music.
@@petermoxham2625 One of the two worst mistakes the Eavis' ever made, putting them on the Other Stage. They had to make up for it seven years later but by then AC weren't the same band. (The other mistake is never inviting Nightwish at all, the world's #1 live band).
@@davidbentley4032 The worst mistake was not waiting for Prince to sign the contract and putting on Beyonce instead, luckily I went to the Hop Farm and saw one of Prince's best UK performances. With regard to AF, I was at that Glastonbury and I thought the PA sound was crap the whole festival, so it is very difficult for me to judge their performance on that day, however I remember being disappointed at the time. Since then I have seen AF several times, some very good, some not so good. Last year at the O2 they were dreadful but a few years back at Wembley they were brilliant.
Fabulous, thank you
LOVE U GUYS! I REALLY WANNA MEET U ALL BEFORE I DIE! SOON! BUT IM SO FAR AWAY HERE...
Fantastic band and song, up with the best
Masterpiece!
We are all one
Bravo!!!
the sludgy tone of that guitar is just too good
Wow 😀😀😀😆😆👍👍❤️
Impresionante!
❤❤❤🔥🔥🔥🔥❤️❤️
Amazing
Toda vez q escuto. Fica a sensação q a city blinding light vai começar
sound quality is ten time better than 2014 concert
The perk of seeing Arcade Fire videos circa 2007-2011 : you can see both Marika and Sarah savagely shredding the violins. Oh and in 2014/Reflektor era although Marika weren’t joining them anymore, we can see Tiwill Duprate vibing with the percussions
Épico 👍🎄.
Epic
Metals, oh boy, the metals!
1:21 Love Regine’s spotty wellies 🥰
Man my goosbumbs are freakin around…
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Épico :)
The anthem of childhood ending :(

Sometimes the world isn’t fair. I look at a band like Kings of Leon, who are very basic with their instruments, get tons of success, and then a band like Arcade Fire, who are probably the most talented musicians of any band out there, probably get half the success of KOL. It doesn’t stack up sometimes.
Btw, KOL do deserve their success because they wrote some great songs, and Caleb has a great voice. Just feel like Arcade Fire should have had more.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
es una canción que te hace temblar
グラストンベリーに行って聞きたかった!!
Oh man... so young... time goes way to fast.
Brasil salvador Bahia 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
This be a new chant for the football terraces
Remember that sound from the movie "Her"? It was made by this band.
Is that a Kentucky Commonwealth flag in the video? Taller than most all the other flags? At the time, my friend's brother was the horn player on this tour, and we're all from Kentucky, so it would make sense that friends made the trip. Lol
There was before .........and then I found this.
Apoteósica!!!
When you KNOW its all killer as its unfolding
Is that an organ?! Intervention live would be great to see!
It is (x2).
You better wacht out below!
I ❤️ aliencloneyflor 👽👾👽👾
Arcade Fire are the most talented act to come out of Canada this millennium. Drake sucks. Bieber sucks. Grimes sucks. Canada used to pump out so much great music in the 80's and 90's then it all stopped in 2000.
I prefer cave man sounds
0:39 That guy looked like Chris Farley!

"MORE COWBELL" flag in the audience at the very end - I said Yeah !!!
Це Божевілля! 🇺🇦 🇺🇦 🇺🇦
Communion.
There are no words to describe this performance. My thoughts go to to Win and Regine. This song is about child abuse. It is clear Win was abused and is now acting out. Regine too needs all our help We cannot afford to lose any more musical genii... o riordan, winehouse.....
"Child Abuse" my God. Learn to read, moron.
It looks like all the nerds that were rejected from the other bands created their own. The only requisite is to be in the spectrum.
00:58 seems that the line of the restroom was long.
What is the BBC trying to say uploading this on a Monday morning as the pandemic slowly slides?
Probably nothing honestly
Nothing
perfect song without vocals
A Mexican flag. As should be
three chords played through a Marshall amplifier stack by a crowd of musicians does not make you a musical genius
