The genius behind Arcade Fire is that they were born to be a live band. The fact that they all sing together on almost every single one of their songs shows that they’re just absolutely chuffed to be there and the Oh Oh parts are a great way to get the crowd to sing along.
plus just a a great inspiring song... viva la canada.. unfortunate this song is personification of what they were against, re selling music rights, they grew older, now sell everything... . . . . alot of mouths to feed i suppose but against the only take what u need they actually stood for back in the day..
One of the greatest Glastonbury performances ever IMO. I'm nearly 75 years old and have seen a lot of live gigs, few with the joy and energy of this one.
why didn't this one win the grammy, this is my favorite arcade fire song it's the most intricate of their songs it changes melody and tune several times, and it's so freaking beautiful
Went to Glastonbury in '14 and '16 Braved the weather and the travel. Even though I had seen AF in Montreal I wanted to see them in a large venue like when I was a teenager at festivals, also to see Jeff Lynne in a large venue. Mission accomplished and I am now close to 80. Never give up a dream to enjoy it LIVE!!.
@@luisaguilar7997 haha I hope you’re kidding but in case you’re not, Apt is a saying as in how apt (relevant, appropriate, suitable) that those lyrics fit within our current life dealing with this fuckin’ COVID pandemic 😷
This is a perfect live song. And that bit at 4:00 when the song shifts... it's such a burst of positive energy, you can't help but to jump, dance and smile
What an incredible perfomance, makes every single feeling the song makes you feel even bigger with that beautiful smiles on everyone's faces and witnessing how they are not only playing the song, but feeling amd enjoying their own performance as if they were part of the audience.
Somethin' filled up My heart with nothin', Someone told me not to cry. But now that I'm older, My heart's colder, And I can see that it's a lie... We're just a million little gods causin' rain storms, turnin' every good thing to Rust. I guess we'll just have to adjust!...
2:30 I love these two guys just rhythmically holding up their instruments, feeling the pulse of this performance and participating in this celebration of a song.
the crazyest and astoning performance of this song. Everyone was so amazed with the energy shared between band and crowd. So unique. Make me jealous wishing being there somehow.
here i'm again crying cause this song is so damn good that makes me have a mix of feelings can't wait to this pandemic over and feel this energy again.
I had previously heard of Arcade Fire before but never really gave them a chance. However, this song has gotten me through quarantine and I can't wait until I get to see them live.
Arcade Fire, é a melhor bando de todas, belas misicas e belas letras que tocam o coração. E tudo fica mais lindo quando vejo a minha bandeira, bandeira do BRASIL tremulando bem na frente. Que seja eterna.
These guys are so awesome live. Never heard of them before I saw them in Vegas or Nashville (can't remember which) many years ago. They looked like high school kids at the time. One of the best live performances I have ever seen.
an Arcade Fire live performance is something that you carry for life, the energy is something you don´t find in any other place, thanks god I watched them in lollapalooza
This song is so powerful! It's even more powerful when you see it live and feel the energy of everyone! Music will always meet you where you are! Cheers!
This anthemic song deals with youthful naïveté and mortality. There’s a call to action (“Children wake up!”), but it’s rather abstract. What’s undeniable is the power of “Wake Up” (2004) in a live setting. A highlight from Arcade Fire’s debut album, it quickly became a crowd favorite, typically played during their encore. U2 used it to emerge on stage during their 2005-2006 Vertigo World Tour shows. Arcade Fire titled their LP “Funeral” after several band members lost close ones in the period leading up and during the recording sessions. “Funeral” was one of the critics favorite records of 2004, and both Pitchfork Media and Rate Your Music named it their ALBUM OF THE YEAR❕ 💙 🔥 💚
They really do put on one of, if not the most impressive band performances ive ever seen. And they all look so invested and to be enjoying the entire experience ❤
Seen them live 6 times between 2007 and 2017 and they are one of the most consistently incredible live bands on Earth. Just amazing stuff every single time.
Woof 🤩 I'm hungry of this..you AF, live, crowd ..music, dancing and All that one of us would put into moments like this, especially the Big AF Family 🙌🌈 It will be..I am sure!
Beatiful band, nice music, positive energy I put it on playing again and again: ''Children, wake up Hold your mistake up Before they turn the summer into dust''
I was there, two rows from the front and to this day this remains my all time favourite musical experience. The whole park was on a high after this set.
Ese mismo año tuve la fortuna de verlos por primera vez en el Vive Latino y qué forma tan chingona de cerrar un día tan increíble, la energía que se respira en un concierto suyo es algo que nunca se olvida. Wake Up junto con Here Comes the Night Time, The Suburbs y Ready to Start fueron mi top, larga vida a Arcade Fire
Increíble esa presentación del VL en sus 15 años, aunque se presentaban unos días después en lollapalooza trajeron escenario completo y una energía increíble.
One of the best live bands I have ever seen. They are incredible. And their album 'The suburbs' is a true masterpiece.
'Funeral' is their actual masterpiece.
Funeral, Neon Bible and The Suburbs are all masterpieces, whilst Reflektor is brilliant. The less said about Everything Now the better!
@@lenshayler9570 everything now has two good songs!
Everything Now took time for me to appreciate but I like that they progress with their musical styles.
Neon Bible for me!
This is without a doubt the the pinnacle of rock music. Watch and listen to this a few times and you might be left crying.
Catchy song with soul and lyrics... But, I have my doubts...
I Graduated from Rehab to this Song 7 years later I’m still Clean loving life 👍
Good on ya brother!
Well done Mitchell! Keep it up! :) ❤
Congrats, Mitchel!! God bless you always.

Congratulations man, this song is special.
One of the masterpieces of the 21st century, I'm serious
My friend took me to their concert back in 2017. I had never really heard much about them but she had an extra ticket. Best night of my life
I am 62. I have just woke up to Arcade Fire. They have it all.
Me to.And I'm 68. But I'll let the young people have them.
60!

Just be 63 and go to Glastonbury and enjoy

Not sure if there’s any other video that makes me miss live music more than this one. 😢😢
As good as any song that has ever been written, ever.
It appears, a few thousand people are having a magical moment together

To me, The Arcade Fire is a genre of their own. I don't remember many iconic bands from that decade but The Arcade Fire is one of them.
