I think you miss a key feature here, that you can use the wheelbase without their steering wheel. You can basically bolt any after market steering wheel directly into the shaft. That is big especially for rally/drifting/truck sim people Anyways, I remember commenting on your channel months ago to get a hold of this new wheel. Glad you finally got one! I really hope they can dial the software of this or maybe make it opensource if that's a possibility 👍👍
Yeah, the review forgot to mention the pro consumer stance that you don’t need to be stuck in a Cammus ecosystem like Fanatec and Thrustmaster force you into. Think about it, those other companies are saying you can’t use a regular car steering wheel! Cammus lets you! 👍

maybe but keep in mind shiping on the vrs is $85 us and then ups charged with a 121.31 cad in ups customs brokerage charges. total it cost me 1460 cad to get my vrs. i would guess its more expensive for you cus live in europe inporting stuff can be way more annoying then even canada. form what i can tell geting in canada the cammus would stiil cost less and youll have a wheel with qr, buttons and padels

You'll likely need to add a section to the DD wheel file in DR2. It's pretty bad when it comes to off-brand wheels. Check out the instructions for adding the VRS Direct Force Pro wheel in DR2 if you want to try it out. Probably not a negative for the wheelbase itself. Codemasters did a poor job on that game in a couple categories.

Damn a powerful DD base and wheel for only 700 bucks. That's a massive competitor for the "low budget" DD market. I mean fanatec CSL DD with 8nm and a wheel costs almost the same and you get double the power
@@rdablock it feels similar, but I think if the CSL DD was scaled up to the same 15nm it would be the better wheelbase. Ultimately I had both and chose to keep the Cammus. Wayyyyy too many negatives for the CSL DD, despite having better fine details in the FFB
Great price! I was actually surprised about what you said it lists at, but the software does need improving. And buying it looks to be a chore. Still it's an option if my Fanatec gets funky on me... Then again, I'd rather pay $900 for the Moza R9 with the RS wheel rim. That looks like a quality setup.
@@sadistic6007 setup can be tricky if you have anything else beside a extrusion aluminum rig, ffb so far is great on AC/ACC, but lacking on iRacing. It can always be improved with firmware update tho. It's not as straight forward and "plug n play" like Fanatec so be aware of that if you want to get one.

I'm not sure but I think you may be able to extend the paddle shifters further out. If I am correct the carbon fiber shifter paddles were secured with two screws. I think of you loosen these then the paddles can slide in or out.

I'm tempted but I have owned Sc2 pro, and Dd2 both great. This seems like it might be a short lived project . What I mean is it seems like it will be 2yrs before they have full support in only a few of the games we love to play. Now for example if their main game was Iracing or ACC and that's a game that a person who purchased this only plays then great. It's a great price but it doesn't seem to work with all the Sims so that is a HUGE downside.

The pedals cost me $191USD when I placed my order. They're all metal, with a nice heavy base plate, and super adjustable. I'm still trying to sort out my preferred elastomer/spring combination but they're a step up over my TLCMs
@@julshg I can only compare them to my other load cells (TLCM) and the throttle is 100% better. On the brake I've removed the spring and am only using the elastomers currently and they match the feel that I had with the TLCMs. They can be set up however you like. The TLCMs I could max out the load cell, but that's not possible with the cammus pedals if you choose to set it up that way. Plenty of customization in this design. I don't use the clutch personally but I think it lacks that bite point design of higher end pedals. All 3 are load cell, so no potentiometer or hall sensors

Quick release is super simple and works a million times better than the plastic QR I had on my CSL DD which was pure trash. The beauty of cammus is you can attach any quick release you want to use custom rims. But yes, the included one is great

I have no issue with mine in ACC. Details are plenty strong and more realistic that it vibrates my pedals and rig. My csl dd 8Nm feels like a cheap toy compared to cammus.

The price looked way too good, so I looked into importing one. After shipping and taxes a VRS DFP + 400€ wheel turns out to be cheaper.

I'm not sure how that's possible. I spent $475 on the base and $75 shipping. So $550USD delivered is wayyyyy cheaper than VRS DFP for me
