    Really hoping the LP8 becomes widely available soon. I'm torn between the C5 and the LP8.

    Thos csl load cells feel so stiff many like that but something about it just doesnt feel right now the elite v2s have the best feeling out of the box of any pedal set ive ever used. Its crazy how their special spring changed everything compared to the elite v1s I used to own.
    Also, im sry but moza does not look better.
    Fanatec has plenty of good quality stuff and in person you feel that.
    But we all see things a little different and prefer looks and feels. So all good just an opinion and preference all subjective on that subject tbh.

    Haha, the QR lite from Fanatec is a screw-me-release, and the metal QR without the setscrew makes a lot of noise, so with the setscrew it takes even longer than the lite to get off lol, I wonder if Fanatec knows what quick means

    • @DouglasThompson
      @DouglasThompson  11 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, the screw is essential with the aluminum qr. I didn't talk about that in this video since I was trying to focus on the entry level side of fanatec. I loved my CSL DD and was very happy with it, only thing I absolutely hated was the QR system. And the having to pay 150 to 200 dollars for an adapter to use regular wheels. Lol

    • @DouglasThompson
      @DouglasThompson  11 месяцев назад +1

      Yes I have heard great things about them but I was trying to theme this video. The original name was "Big 3 DD on PC" but I changed it later to try to describe who the video is for. :)
      Good suggestion though! :)

    • @zualo
      @zualo 11 месяцев назад +1

      @@DouglasThompson Hey! I think how you themed this video is perfect for people entering the scene, as there's definitely a LOT better support out there for everything in the video as opposed to something like the Simjack pedals, which don't really have a support base.
      I also like that you gave options, even though imo if you can get the C5 for a good price with shipping, it's a no brainer choice.

      @@DouglasThompson I really thought about what I should get for two weeks: MOZA R12 or Cammus, and I decided on Cammus because it is really strong and of course the price/performance is unbeatable. For 800 euros I get the complete setup, with Moza I am 960 euros just for it base and lekrad... yes cammus is not the best known brand but it all comes from China anyway... :) My dream would be a steering wheel from Cubecontrols F-PRO but I can buy that next year :) The pedals from Cammus are an imitation of heusinkveld or an alternative for SimJack. My R5 still performs flawlessly. I don't use the table clap so it's a waste. The "performance brake kit" is a MUST HAVE! The ES wheel, however, does looks like a toy compared to GT wheels with luminated buttons liek the new KS. Moza quality build is premium and solid but you really need a cockpit (ebay has som tubular rigs from $130 so a $600 fancy modular cocpits is not necessary) to secure the pedals. I've been so impressed with Moza and they seem to be releasing new products frequently. Camus is still suspect to me as ordering seems unclear or trustworthy.

    • @DouglasThompson
      @DouglasThompson  7 месяцев назад

      You can use any wheel with cammus as long as it has a usb function and 70mm mounting. And if you already have an R5 I would say the easiest thing would be to keep with Moza as there will be no complications or conversions you would have to do with the moza wheel you already have.

    • @DouglasThompson
      @DouglasThompson  10 месяцев назад

      I have no first hand experience with the simjack pedals but I have seen a user that has had both and he prefers the cammus. The cammus has the absolute best brake pedal I have felt in any pedals I have personally owned and I'm coming from the 800 dollar simagic p2000 hydraulic pedals. Cammus has a built in hydraulic brake pedal.

    I was already to purchase a set of the LC100 pedals until I watched the review linked below. It looks like the brake pedal relies to much on the hydraulic damper and doesn’t make full use of the rubber/elastomer. Is this still an issue or have Camus fixed it?
    ruclips.net/video/yOr3yJh2kRU/видео.html

    • @DouglasThompson
      @DouglasThompson  11 месяцев назад +3

      You can adjust the preload and add spacers very easily. You can also adjust the positioning on the load cell sensor itself to have more range. But no, you can turn off the damper entirely and still get a nice brake pedal feel. I tested it for a long time and I'm very happy with it. I like it better than my simagic brake pedal and it honestly feels as good as the fanatec V3 pedals with the damper mod. The thicker pedal faces on the simagic pedals feel better for barefoot driving though.
      I'm very impressed with the LC100 pedals. They are a huge improvement over the last pedals cammus designed and are better in every way.

    • @DouglasThompson
      @DouglasThompson  11 месяцев назад +3

      If you buy them pick up some double sided tape to mount the controller box and if the pedal travel is too much on the throttle and clutch you can adjust the preload and the pivot point easily, you can also add some washers or spacers to decrease pedal travel with a single screw removed. They have been one of the easiest pedal sets to adjust that I have tested so far.

    • @DouglasThompson
      @DouglasThompson  11 месяцев назад +1

      I literally just got the pedals dialed in today. Very easy to adjust everything. I did end up adjusting the loadcell to further refine it but now these pedals are better than the simagic pedals I was using before. Well except I do miss the damper on the throttle but everything feels great!

    Fanatec still wins because they have Xbox and PlayStation support unlike every other company. Not everyone wants a pc they have to keep upgrading to play games when a console is a one time buy for years. You know I had a full setup and a custom pc got tired of it and went back to Xbox and PlayStation. Plus easier to play on them and cheaper with a new born baby

    • @DouglasThompson
      @DouglasThompson  11 месяцев назад +3

      No doubt Fanatec has a huge advantage with console users! Console simracing is much more limiting but I understand if you like games like ACC and such console is a great choice due to the controlled standardized environment. But the Playstation support comes at a premium and Xbox support requires specific wheels so I chose to leave it out so as not to confuse.
