This has to be one of the most ambitious games of all time on just the presentation alone, given that it holds to this level across all planned episodes.

....You wouldn't think it, but....seeing the game embrace the shenanigans of the Cornero dating plot, the Honeybee Inn, and taking a modern turn on it? That makes me quite happy to see this game and how it'll play out. It shows that the developers cared enough to keep the initial game intact but modernize it just enough to make it it's own thing.
I was kind of worried if the scene would even make it into the game. after all the backlash about Tifas bust size I wasn't sure if they could do the brothel without the world exploding..
@Boring Name It was a brothel with a gay section. Probably still is. That sidequest is basically all about Midgar's gay & kink communities & is about the only part of this trailer I like because it expands on an idea instead of altering, adding, & switching things around.

I was looking forward to the game since the announcement, but till now didn't really get a feeling what to expect from spending a full game in Midgar. After this trailer I can only notice two things. First is that it looks as if they really added in some nice content, and second that the English voice acting is actually pretty easy on the ears. Well, that and the game and especially the characters look great.

Well it is a remake, and undoubtedly a large percentage of the sales will be from people who have played the original game, so in my mind the trailer acts more to sell you on this remake than to have you go in completely blind. Even with that said, this is still Final Fantasy 7, and even though it’s probably only the Midgard portion for now, this trailer not shows the tip of the iceberg.
I went from being invested in this trailer to laughing my ass off the whole time. I wasn't expecting for them to not only show the Honey Bee Inn, but also cross-dressing Cloud! And oh my god it's far better than I ever imagined it! XD

I could probably see it being possible on PS5 but man that's overkill to me. And it's gonna be like 3 or 4 parts I think. Each part has an entire game's worth of content in it, so I think $60 is a fair price. It's not even confirmed how much each additional part will be. And even if it is 60, I'd pay that price happily because it's FF7 getting not just an graphical update but more story content and better combat system

OMG! Red XIII looks good!!! I was kinda scared him and Caith Sith were gonna clash with art style! The game as a whole looks utterly phenomenal. Dear God, FF7 and Xenoblade Chronicles. Two of my favorite JRPGs getting remade in the same year (well part of 7) I cannot WAIT!!!

Please let's not forget that in 1997, midgar was, at best, only 5% of the entire game. Now, Midgar is an entire fucking game in of itself. This is meant to be the ultimate FF7 experience, and from what i've seen, i think it is physically impossible for this game to suck. Fuck, my body is absolutely *not* ready...
Lets not forget, too, about the fact that we went from thinking "Shin-Ra are the bad guys of the game" to then finding out that the real threat was a guy we knew nothing about, nor that he was relevant at all, until he made a bloody mess of the Shin-Ra offices while we were imprisoned, and that there was a beheaded something (we didn't know that Jenova was an alien yet, nor much else about her) in the labs. I still remember the music and the overall atmosphere on that part, and thinking "wtf has just happened here" while on the way to finally finding the president stabbed by a giant katana. It was definitely a big plot twist. However, it's true that they might assume that 99% of the people that will play the remake know about Sephiroth nowadays, and most of us (those that played the original) also know about that part in the Shin-Ra offices, so... They're likely assuming that all the build up, done like in the original, is mostly unnecessary at this point.

between them and leviathan during the midgar escape one must wonder..................... does the game REALLY end after the midgar escape cuz both of those summon materia are obtained after leaving midgar: choco/mog at the chocobo ranch and leviathan iirc near junon
you notice it did a basic attack before using a big finisher attack? The summons might work more like FF12's summons, which participated in battle, then used their finisher as their timer ran out.
It would be nice to consider not to spoil this any longer as the game release is close. Maybe time to think about the people who will discover the game with the remake. Because even if this twist is famous there are people who will read the comments section and get spoiled :/ No disrespect here just something to think about imo ^^

I was looking forward to the game since the announcement, but till now didn't really get a feeling what to expect from spending a full game in Midgar. After this trailer I can only notice two things. First is that it looks as if they really added in some nice content, and second that the English voice acting is actually pretty easy on the ears. Well, that and the game and especially the characters look great.

Well it is a remake, and undoubtedly a large percentage of the sales will be from people who have played the original game, so in my mind the trailer acts more to sell you on this remake than to have you go in completely blind. Even with that said, this is still Final Fantasy 7, and even though it’s probably only the Midgard portion for now, this trailer not shows the tip of the iceberg.

I could probably see it being possible on PS5 but man that's overkill to me. And it's gonna be like 3 or 4 parts I think. Each part has an entire game's worth of content in it, so I think $60 is a fair price. It's not even confirmed how much each additional part will be. And even if it is 60, I'd pay that price happily because it's FF7 getting not just an graphical update but more story content and better combat system

Not sure how I feel about Sephiroth being so present in Midgar. Part of what made him such an iconic villain was the mystery and build up.
Please let's not forget that in 1997, midgar was, at best, only 5% of the entire game. Now, Midgar is an entire fucking game in of itself. This is meant to be the ultimate FF7 experience, and from what i've seen, i think it is physically impossible for this game to suck.
Fuck, my body is absolutely *not* ready...
Lets not forget, too, about the fact that we went from thinking "Shin-Ra are the bad guys of the game" to then finding out that the real threat was a guy we knew nothing about, nor that he was relevant at all, until he made a bloody mess of the Shin-Ra offices while we were imprisoned, and that there was a beheaded something (we didn't know that Jenova was an alien yet, nor much else about her) in the labs. I still remember the music and the overall atmosphere on that part, and thinking "wtf has just happened here" while on the way to finally finding the president stabbed by a giant katana. It was definitely a big plot twist.
However, it's true that they might assume that 99% of the people that will play the remake know about Sephiroth nowadays, and most of us (those that played the original) also know about that part in the Shin-Ra offices, so... They're likely assuming that all the build up, done like in the original, is mostly unnecessary at this point.
Damn. How many versions of the battle theme/boss theme does this game have? And how are they all so damn on point! Lol. Everything about the Remake looks perfect.

you notice it did a basic attack before using a big finisher attack? The summons might work more like FF12's summons, which participated in battle, then used their finisher as their timer ran out.
