FF7 Rebirth may already be out now, but the trailer still sells the most amazing content for us to look forward when we finally play.
0:42 - It's just a simple team attack animation, but I love how it shows off Aerith's fun-loving personality. After so many years of being flanderized into some ditzy mysterious waif (looking at you, Crisis Core), it's such a refreshing return to form.
It helps the voice actor captured her true character and spirit! I think Mandy Moore was in the right direction in KH but she never fleshed out. Mena Suvari however did not understand Aerith…

The only thing GTA will accomplish is providing the next step in gaming evolution from a technical perspective. But as the years pass by, they realise that other games, more personal experiences will stick in their mind, thinking about playing it again and again. GTA always gets less impressive each year, and people discard the previous installment when a new game releases. FF7 remains in our heart forever. That is life.

For me, it looks like the buster sword was somehow blocked by the whispers or some magic and Cloud manages to break it free. Also the very first frame of this scene shows Cloud holding the sword above his head with both hands, just like when Cloud was about to strike Aerith in the original game. But instead of being caught off guard by this ("Ugh...what are you making me do"), Cloud seems to get his grip immediately in order to stop Sephiroth from stabbing Aerith. Well, we'll know what happens very soon! Exciting times!

If you slow it down, it also looks like the holy materia is inside of the buster sword. There is a green aura that follows the materia slot in the buster sword. I literally have goosebumps after watching this. Cloud saves her.

That scene also mirrors the final scene from the original FFVII when the party is about to fight Bizarro Sephiroth on the Northern Crater. Only difference is that it's happening in the Promise Land now.
And you can tell by the background that it is 100% THAT moment. I honestly don’t know how I feel about them altering that moment, I’ve been dreading the possibility since remake. But I’ll reserve my judgement to the end of the game, cannot wait for this journey regardless
This trailer was insane! Cissini seeing Cloud is alive was something I always wanted to see for so long. Sephiroth shocked at seeing Zack is not dead and what is he doing there anyway in that timeline, what is he even trying to do? Could it be Aerith he is after, I feel he is after her. Hojo, I hope to see more of that insane mad scientist who started all of this from the very beginning. Gilgamesh is here too, this will be Game of the Year for sure. Can't wait till the end of February.
Sephiroth isn't shocked at all. In Japanese he says "omae wa dame da". It means not you sure but it implies Sephiroth doesn't have need for Zack since he's no good for him
It didn't surprise me any because I was thinking of the Kalm flashback where Cloud takes credit for Zack's accomplishments in the original game. Could have been Zack running up to confront Sephiroth in Nibelheim.
The last scene where Cloud says "No" while swinging his sword is his intervention in stopping Sephiroth from impaling Aerith at the Forgotten City. Slow it down and you can see it before the scene changes. You can see Sephiroth falling down with his sword pointing downwards about to stab Aerith as Cloud tries to stop him with the Buster Sword. Timestamp 3:52.
Actually now that I slowed it down, Cloud is in stance about to strike down and Buster Sword is surrounded by whispers (?) before he pulls it away to instead strike up.

You can see Sephorith's sword pointing down meaning that he's about to strike down Aerith. However it appears that Cloud will succeed in rescuing Aerith. This is probably how Nomura wants to truly end FF7. Perhaps everyone will live.

It appears there is a trade-off in Zack's timeline ("ZT"). If Zack survived the Shinra attack, Cloud doesn't awaken and the canon events don't happen. The trade-off is that Cloud never meets the party but the events play out similar, minus Cloud. When the party reaches the end of the road in Midgar they die because Cloud isn't there to defeat Sephiroth. However, Aerith is in a coma. Tahts why Marlene explains to Zack what's going on in Aerith's home. Biggs wakes up, he finds Zack for an unlikely team-up, and an alternate FF7 ensemble is rebirthed. When the party defeated the arbiters of fate, it _remade_ FF7 in a new image, giving _birth_ to ZT. Without the awakened Cloud, the main party would be unsuccessful because Cloud wasn't there to face off against Sephiroth. If ZT is real and not some mirage or Sephiroth clone continues into the next game, I think they would merge when Cloud and Tifa are in the lifestream and Cloud fully awakens.

OK look at who is NOT in the party at the end 3:43 right before facing Sephiroth at City of Ancients. And then Cloud growls as he sees Sephiroth. I really don't think this was a mistakenly revealed, but it does spoil that the party confronts Seph at City of Ancients without Aerith. In the OG it was because she was dead. Why is she not here this time? If it's because she is dead then an editor needs to be fired for spoiling the #1 mystery in gaming in a trailer. I think more likely is that something else happened to her. I have speculated that if Seph wants to win, he needs to capture Aerith but keep her out of the lifestream. Maybe she is in a crystal?
The majority of new people won't notice that detail in this trailer, just like the MAJORITY of people didn't notice the back of the OG box art back in 1997 literally being Cloud and Aerith in the water when her dead body is being laid to rest. Only when you play through the game will you get context for that scene, and i'll wager it'll be like that for this too. It's possible they'll change it so she doesn't die, or she still will but it'll be different. Guessing or theorizing isn't gonna get any answers unfortunately, so just gotta be patient until you can play through the game yourself.

I think, specifically, the part where Cloud is threatening to attack Tifa, may just be the 3rd timeline. I believe that there might be a timeline where Jenova wins over control of cloud, and he hunts down the team one by one. The scene directly after where Aerith preemptively gives cloud holy, is him forcing it from her in this timeline as she's the only one left he hasn't gotten to which is why she says "this isn't about me." Implying that she's not just giving it to him to spare her life. If this theory turns out to be true. There will be 3 timelines. The one we play, The one where they all die in the explosion and Zack and Cloud are on their own, and a 3rd timeline where Cloud fell victim to jenova and became a villain. This would make 1 Timeline of each variation. A good Cloud, as we know him A neutral Cloud who never had a reason to become who he was meant to be. And an evil cloud to contrast the one we know.
That part with Tifa, cloud has no blood on his face. When you finish the demo and it plays the second part of the trailer he has blood splattered all over his face in the same part 😳

@@trufreedom Sadly, we can't have the entirety of FFVII with this level of graphical fidelity and production in this day and age. I don't like it either, but I can't realistically see this level of AAA production be made into a 100 hour game with the complete story sold for $60. Otherwise, they have to cut down costs and we'll be getting chibi models, classic ATB, probably no voices, just with slightly updated graphics and performance. At which point, just get the FFVII remaster for PS4

Or maybe they'll cram the entirety of disc 2 (which ain't a lot of content anyways) into one game so they could package a trilogy at err... $120?

Everything about this looks _absolutely __*_PHENOMENAL._* I can't believe how vast & detailed the world is, and even my highest expectations keep getting left in the dust. Feb 29th cannot get here soon enough, so thanks for providing the demo, so that the wait doesn't feel so long!!
Based on other footage I've seen, If I had to guess, this game will end right after Sephiroth has summoned Meteor in the Northern Crater. It'll be a massive downer of an ending, similar to The Empire Strikes Back, and the legendary death will be moved to that final summoning moment.
I constantly thank god i'm not/ was not the only one who got obsessed with this game. Watching (& waiting for it go to PC) this modern day rendition is a good damn treat.
Alot of the scenes in the trailers that seem shocking are in the original game. People are not paying attention to some scenes as well. They are Thinking scenes are tied together when one is at night and the other during the day.

In the original Cloid does strike Tifa. I remember that you had to press buttons on the controller to progress in the story and it was like cloud was trying to not strike Tifa. Though, I don't remember it being a Jenova delusion. I remeber it being like Cloud was being controlled...but it has been awhile since I played. In the remake Jenova is a bigger character.

It didn't surprise me any because I was thinking of the Kalm flashback where Cloud takes credit for Zack's accomplishments in the original game. Could have been Zack running up to confront Sephiroth in Nibelheim.

The last scene where Cloud says "No" while swinging his sword is his intervention in stopping Sephiroth from impaling Aerith at the Forgotten City. Slow it down and you can see it before the scene changes. You can see Sephiroth falling down with his sword pointing downwards about to stab Aerith as Cloud tries to stop him with the Buster Sword. Timestamp 3:52.
And the buster sword seems to be surrounded by the light of the lifestream. Perhaps he is using the white material given by Aerith in Zach timeline…
Actually now that I slowed it down, Cloud is in stance about to strike down and Buster Sword is surrounded by whispers (?) before he pulls it away to instead strike up.

You can see Sephorith's sword pointing down meaning that he's about to strike down Aerith. However it appears that Cloud will succeed in rescuing Aerith. This is probably how Nomura wants to truly end FF7. Perhaps everyone will live.

It appears there is a trade-off in Zack's timeline ("ZT"). If Zack survived the Shinra attack, Cloud doesn't awaken and the canon events don't happen.
The trade-off is that Cloud never meets the party but the events play out similar, minus Cloud. When the party reaches the end of the road in Midgar they die because Cloud isn't there to defeat Sephiroth. However, Aerith is in a coma. Tahts why Marlene explains to Zack what's going on in Aerith's home. Biggs wakes up, he finds Zack for an unlikely team-up, and an alternate FF7 ensemble is rebirthed.
When the party defeated the arbiters of fate, it _remade_ FF7 in a new image, giving _birth_ to ZT. Without the awakened Cloud, the main party would be unsuccessful because Cloud wasn't there to face off against Sephiroth. If ZT is real and not some mirage or Sephiroth clone continues into the next game, I think they would merge when Cloud and Tifa are in the lifestream and Cloud fully awakens.

OK look at who is NOT in the party at the end 3:43 right before facing Sephiroth at City of Ancients. And then Cloud growls as he sees Sephiroth. I really don't think this was a mistakenly revealed, but it does spoil that the party confronts Seph at City of Ancients without Aerith. In the OG it was because she was dead. Why is she not here this time? If it's because she is dead then an editor needs to be fired for spoiling the #1 mystery in gaming in a trailer. I think more likely is that something else happened to her. I have speculated that if Seph wants to win, he needs to capture Aerith but keep her out of the lifestream. Maybe she is in a crystal?
The majority of new people won't notice that detail in this trailer, just like the MAJORITY of people didn't notice the back of the OG box art back in 1997 literally being Cloud and Aerith in the water when her dead body is being laid to rest. Only when you play through the game will you get context for that scene, and i'll wager it'll be like that for this too. It's possible they'll change it so she doesn't die, or she still will but it'll be different. Guessing or theorizing isn't gonna get any answers unfortunately, so just gotta be patient until you can play through the game yourself.

I think, specifically, the part where Cloud is threatening to attack Tifa, may just be the 3rd timeline. I believe that there might be a timeline where Jenova wins over control of cloud, and he hunts down the team one by one. The scene directly after where Aerith preemptively gives cloud holy, is him forcing it from her in this timeline as she's the only one left he hasn't gotten to which is why she says "this isn't about me." Implying that she's not just giving it to him to spare her life. If this theory turns out to be true. There will be 3 timelines. The one we play, The one where they all die in the explosion and Zack and Cloud are on their own, and a 3rd timeline where Cloud fell victim to jenova and became a villain.
This would make 1 Timeline of each variation.
A good Cloud, as we know him
A neutral Cloud who never had a reason to become who he was meant to be.
And an evil cloud to contrast the one we know.
That part with Tifa, cloud has no blood on his face. When you finish the demo and it plays the second part of the trailer he has blood splattered all over his face in the same part 😳

@@trufreedom Sadly, we can't have the entirety of FFVII with this level of graphical fidelity and production in this day and age. I don't like it either, but I can't realistically see this level of AAA production be made into a 100 hour game with the complete story sold for $60.
Otherwise, they have to cut down costs and we'll be getting chibi models, classic ATB, probably no voices, just with slightly updated graphics and performance. At which point, just get the FFVII remaster for PS4

Everything about this looks _absolutely __*_PHENOMENAL._* I can't believe how vast & detailed the world is, and even my highest expectations keep getting left in the dust.

At least on the 21st we have the expanded demo release scheduled so hopefully that will fill some of the void.
Based on other footage I've seen, If I had to guess, this game will end right after Sephiroth has summoned Meteor in the Northern Crater. It'll be a massive downer of an ending, similar to The Empire Strikes Back, and the legendary death will be moved to that final summoning moment.
I constantly thank god i'm not/ was not the only one who got obsessed with this game. Watching (& waiting for it go to PC) this modern day rendition is a good damn treat.

Alot of the scenes in the trailers that seem shocking are in the original game. People are not paying attention to some scenes as well. They are Thinking scenes are tied together when one is at night and the other during the day.

In the original Cloid does strike Tifa. I remember that you had to press buttons on the controller to progress in the story and it was like cloud was trying to not strike Tifa. Though, I don't remember it being a Jenova delusion. I remeber it being like Cloud was being controlled...but it has been awhile since I played. In the remake Jenova is a bigger
