  • Crochet My Easy & Fast 3 Color Spiral / Make it Round or Make it a Granny
    Today I show you how to make a 3 color spiral the easy way.
    You may have tried these before and it just didn't make sense - well, now it will!
    I have done all of the math for you to make it coaster size, or a giant round blanket size or we can make it into a Granny Square. I even show you how. This little project is so versatile, you are going to love it.
    Just pick your three favorite colors and go!
    I promise, it will make sense coming from me.
    This is a great stash buster as well!
    In the next several weeks I will also be showing you how to make a 4 color my easy way, that will totally make sense.
    I already did the 2 color for you. Here it is:
    • Crochet My Easy & Fast...
    Keep an eye out for those episodes, because it is not as easy as just adding a 3rd or 4th color, the math is completely different! But I did it for you...
    Ciao friends! If you are so inclined, you can now buy me a coffee. It really helps the channel, and I could use the caffeine, so thanks! 😉 www.buymeacoff...

    Thanks for this! I'm making a little wallet-like mini purse out of two of these for my mother's birthday because dhe loves them to organise her purse as a fun little surprise and I'm sure she'll love it. As a beginer, you were so easy to follow and it's such a fun little project. You are an amazing teacher♡

    Thank you for this! Of course, I did have to start over once because my yarn got all tangled up at the very beginning, haha. But with the second try, it was quick and easy! This is a really fun and unique granny square, especially with the three colors.

    I love how good you’re at explaining.
    Was super easy to make. Now I need to survive a mental math for turning a big spiral into a square…
    Maybe you have a formula?

      @@ThimbleHooks Just busy with life...gardening, yard work, canning, all the things.. All is well. Not enough time to watch all my RUclips buddies. Trying to find time to start crocheting again. Things should start to slow down a bit. But, looking into the next 5-6 weeks, still busy with company on weekends, hunting starts and then Thanksgiving. Need more hours in the day or another me! LOL Take care.

      Okay after many a false start and thinking I was finished at 2 DC I finally got it right am now half way through making a blanket that is quirky enough for my beautiful daughter took me years to find the right pattern for her but this is perfect thank you and even adding in my "mistake"ones because that's what makes it special

    How would you finish it off using each color to make the sides? Of course you would have to do 1 color for 2 sides. But how do you do it for the other colors?

    what pattern should i use for the square part if i have a much biger spiral? should i do more single crochets insteadof just 4, and then do the same amount of dc and hc than you did? or should i increase the dc and hc too? thanks

    • @ThimbleHooks
      @ThimbleHooks  Год назад

      Hi Sol! Turning it into a square was just kind of a bonus on this video. I am still working out the math for what you are asking and will publish that video at some point when it is ready and hits the top of my list. So many WIPS!! 😃 Beth

    • @danielleoconnor2162

      Hi Sol - I was wondering the same thing and I have a half answer for you. Each corner sequence of 3 hdc, 2 dc, corner stitch, 2 dc, 3 hdc is 11 stitches. So you multiply that x4 and you'll have 44 total stitches for the corner sequences. Count all of your stitches, subtract 44, then divide the remaining stitches by 4 and that's how many single crochets will go between each corner sequence. I hope that makes sense out loud like it does in my head. Hope that helps!

    • @danielleoconnor2162
      @danielleoconnor2162 Год назад +1

      I guess if your spiral is much much bigger, it may need more hdc and dc stitches to level out the corners but hopefully my rough math equation will be of some assistance. I only did mine 2 rounds bigger that Beth's and it worked out just fine for me. Good luck 😊

    What size yarn did you use? I’m currently using a weight 4 yarn with a 5mm corrected hook and it seems to be curling a bit

    • @ThimbleHooks
      @ThimbleHooks  10 месяцев назад

      Hi Amara - I never use a 5mm for anything. For this project I use a 4mm - hopefully that will help as it shouldn't curl at all. Bethany

    • @ThimbleHooks
      @ThimbleHooks  Год назад

      Approximately 5 inches (13 cm) the way I did it here, but that will change depending upon the yarn, hook and tension that you use. Bethany
