Saudi Arabia: Hajj Pilgrims ‘Stone The Devil” As Muslims Mark Eid al-Adha

Muslim pilgrims in Saudi Arabia hurled pebbles at giant walls in a symbolic stoning of the devil early on June 16 morning.
Pilgrims arrived in Mina after they spent the night in Muzdalifa plain where they had gathered pebbles to throw at stone columns symbolising the devil.
The ritual of stoning, known as Jamarat, marks the first day of Eid al-Adha, or the feast of sacrifice, which is celebrated by Muslims across the globe.
The pilgrims are participating in the haj, considered the world's biggest religious gathering and a once-in-a-lifetime duty for every able-bodied Muslim who can afford it.
