I will say that the perspective seriously limited the first one and I think the success of 2 backs me up on this. Being limited to a small screen with your squad prompted a certain style of gameplay and made friendly fire a WAY BIGGER FACTOR than it is in 2. The first game feels like classic co-op, 2 feels like a truly awesome team-based sci Fi shooter more than a true co-op game.
@@BAGELMENSK The restrictions of the old one are what makes it an awesome couch co-op shooter with almost all the same mechanics. Don't get me wrong I love 2 as it incrementally improved on almost everything, but it's virtually the same game mechanically outside the perspective swap. In fact the nice thing about the perspective swap is that it makes the old game _still_ worth playing when you have friends over since you can all play it on the same screen.
They never miss. From the original Magicka and Gauntlet, all of their games are just pure fun. All the fun all of the time with no grind or dull padding anywhere to be found. And I am so glad that they finally have their big break they so deserve.
Thanls for poiting out the utter lack of pay 2 win weapon/armor grind. A level 5 player can play on hard difficultly and still be able to play with high level players and be useful!
Even if you dont participate in the Major order you will recieve the rewards the next time you log on. That is so cool if you go away or dont have time for the game.
What I like the most is that the game doesn't feel like a part time job or a chore. So many games I go into and I just immediately think "Holy crap, this looks like a pain in the butt." And then when I bring it up, people just say you have to "Grind to get to the good part." Why should I slog through 20 hours of busywork to get to "the good part?"
Helldivers 2 is unequivocally GOTY. Nothing else that comes out this year will touch it…and I’m not saying there won’t be great games to come out yet, there undeniably will, 2024 has already proven itself to be the best year in a very long time…and we’re still in Q1?! As Talk Gaming To Me rightly pointed out, what HD2 gets SO right is having fun baked into its essence. When I play this game I’m reminded of my days with Halo, it just came out of nowhere and blew everyone away with how good it was, the AI was great, it looked beautiful and you laughed your ass off as you had nothing but great fun ALL the time. Where I think it rightfully claims the crown of GOTY is, ironically, not just where it doles out brilliant anarchic fun, but how it gave the AAA sector a slap in the face….and it wasn’t even trying to, it just presented the player base with fairness and respect. It was reasonably priced. It’s launch issues we’re quickly rectified. The Devs and CEO were in constant contact with the players. We were encouraged by the CEO to NOT buy the game until they had certain problems rectified (take note Bobby Kotec, you greedy SOB). The CEO deliberately said they were not going to hire more staff to cope with the huge influx of players only to fire them all in a couple of months just so they could make an extra few bucks. Arrowhead have presented themselves as responsible, considerate and respectful developers….and we’re just not used to that in the gaming community. All these reasons make HD2 deservedly GOTY and now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to stuff my shotgun into the mouth of a bug while pulling the trigger and screaming “For SUPEREARTH!”
SOMEBODY PLEASE EXPLAIN how exactly this games works? 200k player on one planet?does this mean every single person who bought this game is fighting for one galaxy that was started after game was released?like if i bought my own copy ,start game that will i see same status of galaxy occupation like every person who bought the game? Like few days ago i saw that creek planet was lost does that mean everyone has game will it lost in there pc? Because then only multiplayer will make sense. I mean why would i will join my friend server where i have my own galaxy to fight,, but its not that right? PLZZZZZZZ EXPLAIN i am not able to understand. And also how exactly you can join a random stranger to play? And what exactly ship is used like everyone has there own ship so??????if creek is lost does that mean I will never able to play because I joined late????
yep its community based so if you lose the FTL route to the creek its gone until its taken back by the community. the major orders are issued to every player and every player contributes. if theres 98k players on a planet there is actually 98k on that planet and every win contributes to liberation and defenses campaigns
What the person in first comment means to be specific is that there are 200k people on that “planet” it’s more like how many people are in that specific server I guess. But you can only play in squads of 4. . Players can place down S.O.S beacons and before you enter a planet there’s an option for quickplay which prioritized groups of players that have an SOS beacon. . Just because a planet is lost doesn’t mean it’s lost forever. This game has supply lines of planets so let’s say there’s planets ABC. You can’t get to planet C without going through B. You have to take B first to get to C. . Yes you get the same map as everyone else. It changes every second, right now we are pushing the robots to their home planets so I suggest you join in and help liberate the last few planets.
No matter how badly the game is made, it can still be fun! But, a lot of that fun is going to be based on the people you’re playing with. You know, to help you not focus on how badly the game was made.
I tell you, if devs will choose hardcore/ness or tacticoolness, or milsim side instead of fun shooter - this game's fate will be sealed. We may only pray devs come to senses and stop nonsense nerfs.
ahh yes, the dance dance combos.. brought to you by the same lunatics that brought you magika........... and am ok with this. I have outriders.. must have got it in a humble pack or something.. not played it.. duno anyone who does :(
Its only fair to be an un-named because your character basically gets replaced by a different person in the span of the game so we are all same expendable soldiers and undistinguised gender so all of that pronouns or gender is not important but only liberty and democracy
This game is as refreshing as an ice cold glass of liber-tea!
Mmm! A tall glass of iced libertea is the perfect beverage for those late night dives
It might be the corniest line I've ever heard in my life, for some reason it doesn't bother me too much, and no I'm not a communist
@@Geo-fx3mn it is corny haha but goddamn it, i love it.
This is the first game that didn't lose my attention the second I was done with the progression system. Lvl 50 is where the fun starts.
I reached level 50 a while ago, and I like to help lower level players level up
Fun starts at lvl 1 and keeps going lol.
It started on Mars on training day @@talkgamingtome
Good thing the level cap is 150 now
Didn't know there were any other Outriders fans out there. I will still play that game when my friends are on!
Outriders was so damn good to mess around with friends. I really hope they make a second one.
As a huge fan of the first game: literally all they did was change the perspective. Y'all been sleeping on the brilliance that is Arrowhead.
Really seems that way. Will definitely have a look at the first one, and be it only to get the meta context on the lore and the Illuminate.
I will say that the perspective seriously limited the first one and I think the success of 2 backs me up on this.

Clearly! I've got to pick up the first to see where it all began. Looks like Arrowhead makes great stuff.
They never miss. From the original Magicka and Gauntlet, all of their games are just pure fun. All the fun all of the time with no grind or dull padding anywhere to be found. And I am so glad that they finally have their big break they so deserve.
For a game that cost me £32 UK, I've had tenfold return in value. Great game
100 hours in-mission time and I have no plans to slow down.
HUEG value. Wild that a game that cheap has so much to give.
How is this video not more popular???? You need way more recognition bro
Thanks a ton man, I really appreciate that.
@talkgamingtome you're welcome dude

Well... if you know what you're doing.
hard difficulty on helldivers isnt hard, it sits squarely on the middle of all difficulty ranges aka 'normal' difficulty
I'm blown away more games don't do this. It's such a relief that you can play with your friends no matter the level.
Freedom!!
Outriders… omg I wish they didn’t mess it up. I really enjoyed it 😥
SO much fun. Here is hoping they bring it back in a few years.
Even if you dont participate in the Major order you will recieve the rewards the next time you log on. That is so cool if you go away or dont have time for the game.
I didn't even know that! Good to know if I miss a week. What a cool game.

This is by far one of my top 5 multiplayer/coop games. The only issue I have is the lack of super sampling tech such as DLSS 3.5 and FSR 3

Rise in popularity also means rise in toxic shitheads in the game unfortunately. It happens every time a game becomes successful.
Such is the harsh truth of any game. We can all just try to be kind and know that to fight each other means the enemy wins
