As someone who reads a little bit of everything, i 100% get what you're saying about not really knowing what you're reading taste is. It makes it hard to really define myself as a reader and especially as a booktuber

🍌🍎🍉🫐 I gave up trying to figure out how to define my taste. Even within one genre there’s so much variation so I just go with what I’m interested in then lol. I’m currently reading two complete different books as well. Twilight falls a cozy murder mystery and demon in white and epic sci-fi and it just works. I’ve been eying mortal follies as a fun book though because I kept seeing it pop up as similar to India holtons books so I might check it out
Having variety really is the best way. Oh yes Mortal Follies is kind of reminiscent of India Holtons books

🍒 I've come to realize I like to keep things light for the most part. Here and there I sprinkle in some gritty stuff. I don't think we need to label our tastes. Just flow with the mood.
Perfect way to explain it, I think especially in today's society it's so easy to get caught up labelling things

Now I need to read both of these books, they sound great. I think you might enjoy the Montague siblings series ("gentleman's guide to vice and virtue" Mackenzi Lee and next 2 books), I'm rereading it, also for pride month, and it's even better than I remember.

@@ReadingNymph I agree, I think romance girlies get more out of it than I do as I am not really into romance like some people are but we are all different 😊I am more of a Pride and Prejudice type of romance girl.
I'm currently reading The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern, and I'm having a very similar experience. I'm really enjoying it while I'm reading it but don't have this huge urge to pick it up. I think it might just be because it doesn't feel very plot driven and more vibes... I'll definitely be finishing it though 😊
