I totally understand what you mean about meat not seeming like food anymore! I was vegetarian for three years before finally transitioning to vegan about a month ago... these tips were really helpful, I can't wait for your recipe videos X
I feel like if you put some meat in front of me and told me to eat it, idk if I could anymore. It's just so gross. Can't believe I ate that for 18 years.
Precious Babatunde making sure you get a balanced diet and filling your meals with healthy, nutrient-rich foods will be so beneficial. The only supplement recommended is B12, which most people are deficient in anyway and multivitamins will provide you with an all-round intake of essential nutrients. However, if you are worried about becoming deficient in something, you can always get blood tests and your doctor will be able to let you know if you’re on track :) X
LOVED this jade, as a vegan myself !! ive been vegan for over a year & i absolutely love it. it's totally shifted my opinion of food, before i would just eat whatever was put in front of me, but now im so passionate about food, about what veganism can do for the planet, the animals, my health. AHH it's my favourite decision ive ever made, im so so glad i stumbled across freelee's videos haha
I can definitely do that in future 😉✨ thank you so much!! Hahah I assure you, I still get riddled with spots when my hormones kick in, but I appreciate the love! ❤️ xxx
i know right! she seems so natural and kind of whole i can’t explain it she hardly ever applies heat to her hair and she hardly ever wears makeup! i love it
I've been vegetarian all my life, but your last video on veganism softly pushed me to make the change and you're educational videos have encouraged me to actually study! Now I've been more optimistic, vegan, and a little bit more studious for a month! THANK YOU!
I am trying to life vegan what´s working most of the time but when eating out it´s really hard e.g. they just offer coffee with cow milk most things contain egg and or cheese in the dishes... At home I eat vegan a 100% but as I am a busy student who has not much time to cook every day I kind of feel forced to eat something vegetarian once in a while. It´s not hard to be/become vegan but society makes it hard for you...
yes please do an essentials haul! I'm vegetarian and hardly have any dairy but struggle so much with what meals to make and to be healthy on a vegan diet. your videos are so helpful x
I went veggie a few months ago and then after watching some documentaries and seeing your channel it has opened my eyes and I've now gone vegan and I'm very grateful for all your wonderful positive messages that you use your platform on youtube to help raise awareness! I feel so much more informed and now things I never thought about like shopping from sustainable and eco-friendly shops or second-hand and only buying cruelty-free make-up and products is a part of my every day life and now I just wish I'd have done it years ago! Lots of love xxxxx
Watching this makes me realise how far I've come being vegan and it just seems so normal to me to drink plant milks ☺️ I did it gradually and trust me your family will slowly adjust and now me and mum work together to cook dinner. Sometimes we all have vegan meals but sometimes I just cook my own. I love quorn if I'm craving something 'meaty' and I actually love vegetables so much now !! ❤️
This just makes me so happy to read! Very proud of you ma friend, and I think when living with a non-vegan family, gradual transition is always best ;) 💜 xxx
That is amazing!! 👏👏❤️ I completely feel you - weird to think how much I loved meat. As for vitamin D, I agree! Literally everyone in the UK (meat eater or not haha) is deficient in it, and I didn't start supplementing it until I went vegan ✨ as for B12, a lot of plant milks these days are fortified with it, meaning supplementing is less of an issue, but I still have one every few days just to make sure 😉 lots of love xx
I relate to this so much aha, veggie at 7, went mostly vegan (I tried it was just if I accidentally didn't check) at 13, and then went 100% at 14 and have been. Still fully vegan at 15, I love it :)
This is so strange! This is something I began to consider after your other video on why you're vegan. I've been seriously thinking about making the switch over the last few days and then you be posted this :) huge help, thanks so much
Loved this video Jade! I couldn't agree more about no longer viewing animals as food. I view cows and pigs the same way meat-eaters view cats and dogs. There is absolutely no desire whatsoever to hurt, kill or consume them.
Also with the protein, all the milks! The milk I drink is roasted almond, nut, protein! I’ve been vegan for about 4 days for veganuary (I was late starting), and I’m already starting to feel the positive effects, I feel fresher!
MEGA IMPORTANT TIP so whatever we’re eating, vegan or not, the thing that makes us like something is strong flavours. In the U.K. most of these strong flavours aren’t vegan, e.g. cheese, butter, meat, meat stock etc. When you remove these from meals, it can make them taste so bland, although vegan ones exist, we just don’t commonly eat them. Salt!!! Salt is so important for bringing out the flavour in veggies, unless you have high blood pressure, don’t worry too much about it. Herbs and spices, especially strong ones like thyme, smoked paprika, curry powder. Sun-dried tomatoes, vegan pesto, vegan mayonnaise, vinegar, nutritional yeast, tomatoes, veggie stock, soy sauce, lime juice etc. are all wonderful!
Jade, can you please film a video about how you organise sheets, notes and like all the different folders you have and where everything goes (basically like an organisation video) also more vegan What I Eat In a Day videos!! ilysmmm and thank you for all your amazing content ♡♡ discovering your channel was the best thing ever, it's literally all my fav different types of videos (study, veganism, routines etc.) all in one channel!
I would really like to try to be vegan but I still have to convince my parents that it ISN'T unhealthy, even growing up (I am 13) Any tips? (By the way, lots of love from Portugal, Jade)
Leonor Silva i was in the same boat! my parents thought i would get no nutrients so try and explain to them where you would get all your nutrients and be patient ❤️ it might take a while, but hopefully they'll let you!
Ask them to explain their concerns in detail, for example wich nutrients they think you would lack if eating vegan (they will realise that there are none because you can get every nutrient ((other than b12)) from a plant based diet)
I’ve started going vegan this week ! I haven’t had meat in a couple of days and I never drink normal milk anyway so I always have almond or coconut and I’ve had some vegan cheese and I really liked it. I’m so excited what the new year holds as it’s my New Years resolutions. I bought deliciously Ella’s cookbook and it’s got so many amazing plant based recipies. You definitely inspire me to lead a healthier lifestyle ☺️💛 xx
Your last vegan video inspired me to learn more and try being vegetarian for at least October. I honestly love vegi food so so much, except for the first day it has been very easy. Thank you for making another related video 💚
also, simple meals that you thought were tasteless and bland can actually become really yummy because of the change in your taste buds. (also using less salt/sugar made my taste buds adjust so that the same things i ate with it, taste just as wonderful without it) This is such a good video, good luck with getting back uni offers! xx
You have seriously been convincing me to become vegan! ;) also, could you make a video about your DofE experiences and whether or not to do gold DofE/ DofE?? xx
The video I am going to be editing ALL weekend is my Gold dome experience actually!! May take a few weeks (about 20 hours of footage.....!!) but it's coming. I'd always recommend it, over and over 💛 x
My biggest tip for people trying to go vegan (if you’re from the U.K.) is to eat food from other cultures. Our food isn’t really geared for vegans, mainly because of our climate, so traditionally we haven’t grown a big a variety of plants. Having things like vegan mac and cheese or other vegan versions of common dishes is ok, but you’ll either be disappointed or unhealthy. Japanese and Thai food are easy to make vegan, as is Mexican food. It’s not commonly known but loads of Sri Lankan food is vegan (I’m a bit biased but it’s the best food in the world), I’ll give you recipes if anyone wants any. Go to asian supermarkets and get some weird vegetables, that’s why it’s so easy to be vegan in Sri Lanka, because we eat such a variety of food (which is possible in the U.K. now because we can import it). For example lotus flower root and jackfruit, my favourite curry’s they taste amazinggg, as well as some “superfoods” which are still undiscovered by the western world like winged beans. I went on a bit of a tangent but oh well, the main thing for veganism is to eat a variety to ensure you’re getting enough nutrients, and trying foreign food is a really easy way to do that. Btw if anyone lives in Manchester and wants to try, there’s this Sri Lankan restaurant called Little Lanka, it’s very authentic would recommend.
I was telling a few friends of mine that I think I need to go to changing my diet. It was an interesting conversation. While I'm talking to her, she was eating her lunch that is packed with meat. I was watching one of your other videos and talking about milk coming from cows and that instead of her calf getting the milk, we get them. Thank you for sharing this.
I really can't get enough of your videos, I seriously dropped everything when I saw this on my notifications 😂 You're so inspirational though and it's really encouraged me to consider veganism, and this is coming from someone who LOVES meat haha 😂
Comments like this are literally the best!! ✨ thank you so so much for the support and for approaching something like this so openly. Whether you ever go on to try it or not, I really appreciate your willingness to consider it! 💛
Perfect timing - I’ve been vegetarian for nearly 3 years and I want to go vegan I’m just a fussy eater and feel I’d struggle at college but this is so useful thank you xxxx
Vegan food is amazing!! Thankful that more supermarkets are selling Vegan food now 🙏🏼 Plant Milk, helped clear my skin too and Coconut Collab yogurt is amazing, so is CoYo 😍
Hi Jade! Really loved the video! I'm not vegan or vegetarian myself, but my fiancé is, and even though I might not 'convert' completely, I'm definitely in the process of making loads of changes to my diet! However, I do have a question. I see your not mentioning B12 or folic acid, is there a reason for this? I currently study biomedical science, and the scary thing about being defficient of these two is that it can go on for years and actually make you extremely sick, as they are an essential part in how rapidly cells divide and such. I just know that these two are very hard to get on a vegan diet, so I thought I would mention it!
i’ve been vegetarian for two years now and i’m just transitioning into veganism so thank you for making this video. you’re so right about meat not seeming like food anymore. the thought of eating meat now is kind of gross
I've been pescatarian for a month now after being inspired by you ✨(small steps I know but it's still taken quite a bit of work) Thank you for your positive messages and influence and congrats on 90k!!💞😱
this is so useful! i’ve been vegetarian for 2 years and have been using almond milk for about 6 months - the only time i really have dairy is school meals because the only sandwich available without meat in is cheese and tomato! and i tried making my own lunch for a time but ended up just having a box full of the same fruit and veg for weeks ... any tips?
I want to go vegan so bad, but probably not now. There's so much going on and having to be so specific about what I eat seems so stressful. I'm definitely going to try these recipes soon and bookmark this video!
Jade I absolutely love you. I actually knew already the tips you mentioned. The problem is really that on my household you would never even be a vegetarian. It doesn't matter how many times and how greatly I explain it to my parents, it will always be seen as a trendy-teenage_fase-came_out_of_this_young_girl's_mouth-thing. I've been trying to eat only fish and eggs (as "proper protein") but the brainwashing around the dairy products we ear and the traditional meals with meat some family members can't avoid, are enough for my parents not to let me be vegan. Honestely, I kind get it. It's their perception, their beliefs that are on the game, their comfortable reality. And of course I'd love them to know me better, my reasons, know that I have my own arguments too (and more rational), but yap... as long as I have food on the table, I must not complain...
Ahh Jade TYSM this upload couldn't have come at a better time my evening has been made and this is why your so amazing I love how you talk about stuff that is important to you, you can really see it and I'm not vegan yet but I already eat so many vegan substitutes and I actually think they are so much nicer ,as generally vegan alternatives tend to be made from better ingredients have you tried the alpro ice creams they are 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻but anyways best of luck with your UCAS I'm routing for you 💕💕💕
Loved this vid jade! Jade please do a video on your AS eng lit experience i knw ur not continuing it for A2 but please I need your valuable advice because im doing english and.....well its traumatic......so your advice is needed! Trust me your Biology video helped me a ton, and Im sticking to your ideas about flashcards after every lesson! So pleaseeeee Jade do consider it, love ya! xxxx Your My favourite inspo for academia and well......life x
I actually went cold turkey vegan on Monday (After transitioning for about a week) I was debating with myself whether or not to request a vegan help video because man this is difficult-though finding my way around the 80/10/10 finally! Think you could speak more about this, I'm sure we'll all love you for this ^^
Essentially it is the percentage share of where the calories in your diet come from, 80% being carbs 10% plant based protein and 10% plant based fats. So just your quinoa, rice, pasta etc with fresh fruits, nothing processed.@sophies wxrld
I love this! I'm vegetarian and am trying to be vegan as often as possible, this is so, so helpful Jade!! I hope you're having a great day. Keep doing what you're doing :)
Hey! I really enjoyed this video and I might even try the 30 day trial. Just wondering whether you wear any leather or fur or anything? Love your videos btw💕
I don’t like meat only eat it because it’s easy, I don’t eat butter, not the biggest cheese fan, don’t eat a lot of eggs and never liked honey. Also I’ve tried soya milk and like it more than cows milk. So I think I’ll have no problem going vegan. Can’t wait to start
I’ve been vegan for almost two weeks now and I’m struggling... I have such strong ethical beliefs which helps but I still find it hard to have to turn down most food when people offer you it and to see everyone eating food I used to love, like pizza! Getting through it but definitely didn’t expect it to be this hard 😌
If this is any help for people who are finding meat hard to quit, even just a year after going veggie I didn't really have any meat cravings at all. Like I still love the smell of bacon n stuff but it's not like I want to eat it it's kind of like perfume lol. One tip I have is force yourself to eat tons of veggies, when you eat lots of meat you never really appreciate how tasty and flavourful veggies are, but when you eat them a lot, even if you previously hated them, you'll learn to love them. I used to barely eat any veggies a couple years ago, now the only one I don't like is sweet potato.
Hi Jade !!! I have been vegetarian by myself for about 7 year. I was about to turn vegan, when i found out that i am gluten free. Do you maybe have any ideas how i can implement veganism in my curren vegetarian and glutenfree diet. Thank you Xoxoxo
abigail akerman followed your advice. Tried oat milk, not sold on it. And sthg called Coconut Dream, blend of coconut and rice milk, slightly sweet, and that was better, especially with coffee.
Hey jade, I tweeted you recently but I realise you are super busy. I recently received my mark back for my first ever English literature a level essay and it was horrendous. I really would appreciate any advice as I feel like I'm not worthy to do a level English anymore.
Can you please do another video on vegan food ideas. Like you making different meals over a couple of days. I'm seriously thinking about going vegan :)
i really like vegan meals and vegetables, i also dont eat meat much, yet i still like some foods with meat in here Turkey. believe me if you'll ever come to Turkey and eat that traditional foods even you might be a meat-eater :d. i respect and like your choices btw, good luck with your life!
the only vitamin you really need is b12 bc you cant get that from plants x but i find an a-z supplement is the cheapest way to ensure youre getting all your vitamins (and theres loads of vegan marketed ones and individual vitamins but theyre a bit pricier x)
thanks xoxo but I am gonna have a hard time not eating Chinese takeaways every Friday ahah ! I will start simple by using plant milks and other things, thanks!
i love this vid but please can someone help, i can’t convince my parents to even let me go vegetarian let alone vegan!! they won’t budge and say that i am allowed to go vegetarian at 18 which is ages away and i can’t persuade to let me go vegan/vegetarian. have you got any advice for me and for them? love you so muchhh xx
I totally understand what you mean about meat not seeming like food anymore! I was vegetarian for three years before finally transitioning to vegan about a month ago... these tips were really helpful, I can't wait for your recipe videos X
Yes!! So weird how tastebuds change hey 💛 thank you so much for the love!! I really appreciate it xx
I feel like if you put some meat in front of me and told me to eat it, idk if I could anymore. It's just so gross. Can't believe I ate that for 18 years.
They may not do any harm to you but your wallet will take a slight hit. I'd rather buy something nice :^)

This sounds random but I love the way you say 'welcome back to unjaded jade' ahahahah, does anyone agree?
Jodie LC yaass Haha. I always notice that part.
Hahahaha love this 😂 it became a thing without me consciously making it a thing xx

Do a curly hair routine, I'm obsessed with your hair (and also skin)! You just have such a "natural" appeal (if that makes sense)?
I can definitely do that in future 😉✨ thank you so much!! Hahah I assure you, I still get riddled with spots when my hormones kick in, but I appreciate the love! ❤️ xxx
i know right! she seems so natural and kind of whole i can’t explain it she hardly ever applies heat to her hair and she hardly ever wears makeup! i love it
She finally did it.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate :)
the reason why a lot of foods throw milk powder in for no reason is to bind the flavours together (somehow) i found this out and it really annoys me
I just tried 30 days of vegetarianism thanks to your recent video. Thank you for the inspiration! X
That is literally AMAZING ❤️👏 so so proud xx
Loved this video Jade! I couldn't agree more about no longer viewing animals as food. I view cows and pigs the same way meat-eaters view cats and dogs. There is absolutely no desire whatsoever to hurt, kill or consume them.

If you'd like to see them, I can definitely do some more!! 💜 I'll film a day of half term ;))) xxx

HEY JESS!! hahah you're on it ;)) bless you, it truly means a lot. Thank you so so much xx
90K YES JADE CONGRATS!🎉
I went vegan last week and I have never looked back! I love thiss jade
As someone who as been thinking about going vegan for a while, this video is a great help 👍
omg! i decided to become a vegan earlier today and you uploaded this💖 this is a really good sign ✨
No wayyy ah that is amazing! I'm so proud xx
Ahh Jade TYSM this upload couldn't have come at a better time my evening has been made and this is why your so amazing I love how you talk about stuff that is important to you, you can really see it and I'm not vegan yet but I already eat so many vegan substitutes and I actually think they are so much nicer ,as generally vegan alternatives tend to be made from better ingredients have you tried the alpro ice creams they are 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻but anyways best of luck with your UCAS I'm routing for you 💕💕💕
YES CHECK LABELS. I've been accidentally eating 'water crackers' that have lactose in them for some reason? Great video to help people transition! ❤🐷

I really like your videos concerning veganism!
I actually went cold turkey vegan on Monday (After transitioning for about a week) I was debating with myself whether or not to request a vegan help video because man this is difficult-though finding my way around the 80/10/10 finally! Think you could speak more about this, I'm sure we'll all love you for this ^^
Yelena Green sorry but what's the 80/10/10?
Essentially it is the percentage share of where the calories in your diet come from, 80% being carbs 10% plant based protein and 10% plant based fats. So just your quinoa, rice, pasta etc with fresh fruits, nothing processed.@sophies wxrld
Nothing Special thank you!
I love this! I'm vegetarian and am trying to be vegan as often as possible, this is so, so helpful Jade!! I hope you're having a great day. Keep doing what you're doing :)
I’ve almost transitioned to plant based. I love your videos!! ❤️
Hey! I really enjoyed this video and I might even try the 30 day trial. Just wondering whether you wear any leather or fur or anything? Love your videos btw💕
Would love to see mote vegan style kind of vids - like your go to meals, tips on where to shop in uk for specific health foods and stuff like that?
Haven't even watched and yet I already love it ❤❤❤❤ tysm as always Jade!!! Northern Irish one out 👌xxx
Elle King There are meat and dairy. substitutes
what pasta do you use if you're vegan?
Hi Jade!
And we also need vitamins right? Or is a choice?
What do you have for lunch? If you had a sandwich what would it be? Love your tips and viewpoint, I’ll start doing what I can! 😆🤗
Beka salad 😍
If this is any help for people who are finding meat hard to quit, even just a year after going veggie I didn't really have any meat cravings at all. Like I still love the smell of bacon n stuff but it's not like I want to eat it it's kind of like perfume lol. One tip I have is force yourself to eat tons of veggies, when you eat lots of meat you never really appreciate how tasty and flavourful veggies are, but when you eat them a lot, even if you previously hated them, you'll learn to love them. I used to barely eat any veggies a couple years ago, now the only one I don't like is sweet potato.
Update I love sweet potato now, see it works
I really want to try veganuary next year😍 also what did you eat on D of E if you're vegan and what's the food like when you're away from home etc?
Hi Jade !!!
I have been vegetarian by myself for about 7 year. I was about to turn vegan, when i found out that i am gluten free. Do you maybe have any ideas how i can implement veganism in my curren vegetarian and glutenfree diet.
Thank you
Xoxoxo

What plant milk do you use in tea/coffee? I have literally tried all of them and can't find one that i like in those hot drinks.
Never Too Late oat milk is really good in hot drinks or rice milk also 😀
abigail akerman followed your advice. Tried oat milk, not sold on it. And sthg called Coconut Dream, blend of coconut and rice milk, slightly sweet, and that was better, especially with coffee.
Please do a coocking / what I eat in a day video 💖 thanks for great advice 😊
I have been vegan for almost an year now! This lifestyle has change my life! (For better)

Hi jade! I just want to say thank you, because of you I have managed to become a vegan and I owe it all to you. Thanks again,
Emma xx
Hey jade, I tweeted you recently but I realise you are super busy. I recently received my mark back for my first ever English literature a level essay and it was horrendous. I really would appreciate any advice as I feel like I'm not worthy to do a level English anymore.
I just found your channel yesterday and just really like it! You inspire me :)
Can you please do another video on vegan food ideas. Like you making different meals over a couple of days. I'm seriously thinking about going vegan :)
Really love your videos Jade!!! Thank you so much for putting your time and love into them xxxx Have a wonderful day 💛

i really like vegan meals and vegetables, i also dont eat meat much, yet i still like some foods with meat in here Turkey. believe me if you'll ever come to Turkey and eat that traditional foods even you might be a meat-eater :d. i respect and like your choices btw, good luck with your life!
What supplements do you personally take. That is of course if you take any!! I’m vegan too! Xxx
Abbie Stares I'm not Jade 😂, but I'm also vegan and take the Veg1 supplement from the Vegan Society :)
the only vitamin you really need is b12 bc you cant get that from plants x but i find an a-z supplement is the cheapest way to ensure youre getting all your vitamins (and theres loads of vegan marketed ones and individual vitamins but theyre a bit pricier x)
who liked the video before even watching it? i know i am
