The only regret any vegan feels is not going vegan sooner.
Totally!!!!
100%
Straight up!
fuck yea!!!
truth
Going vegan feels like going home and being true to yourself.
@adam zarbon Then you're doing it wrong, my friend!
@adam zarbon Yeah, the right way is the way that you (or most people at least) feel, which is - it's wrong to hurt animals.
@adam zarbon You pay someone to hurt animals. If you paid a man to kill your wife you would also be held accountable, along side the murderer.
@adam zarbon Have you ever heard of supply and demand?
@adam zarbon What, about the damn roadkill? No, because it was an accident and me calling anyone would not stop the next one. But if less people eat meat the demand and therefore supply is smaller so less animal would die.
"When you go vegan, you give up nothing. You just stop taking what was never yours to take."
Having this phrase in mind helped me a lot!
Of course it's ours to take. Animals are here to serve humanity
@@readysoldier6799 Oh, cute it's a meathead troll :) how do you do? Please be careful in this comment sections, as vegans we hate to see any animal - including trolls like yourself - get hurt.
Ready Soldier so are kids here for pedophiles then?
@adam zarbon humans are animals lol. You look like an idiot :(
@AG Coarseman because we have a choice not to? Lol. Why wouldn't we if we didnt have to harm any animals, harm the planet and harm our health? It's a no brainer. Chimps know no different, we could easily educate yourselves.
When you stop seeing these products as food, nothing is easier 😁
that's such a good way of putting it!
True! 🙏
I always refer to animal products in a realistic way. If someone who knows I'm vegan accidentally offers me dairy products I'll say "No thanks, I'm not a fan of breast milk" and they always ask why I refer to it in such a gross way. I just tell them that I'm just saying what it is and they always go "Well, I mean you're right... But it's gross to think about"
@@RogueAstro85 great point!
Ethical Gains
I love avoiding the animal products in the supermarket! Its sad that they are still there...
After one year of being vegan I still crave pizza, burgers, capuccino, tiramisu, ice-cream and so much more, all of this in the vegan version, which I love so much more, because I don't feel guilty anymore by eating those. Food in general feels so much more comfortable and good and I have never enjoyed eating more than I love it now as a vegan. Honestly, it really blows my mind, I didn't expect this when I started.
i'm 2ish years in and i don't crave animal products anymore... i mean sometimes if i smell cookies my mom is baking downstairs but now I know how to make them myself or what to buy at the store. I think once you're in it for a while your brain kind of just doesn't see it as an option so it's not a craving.
I made vegan mozzarella (Trader Joe’s) arugula and pickle pizza tonight. And garlic pistachio air fried cauliflower. Both amazing.
@French blue8 exactly! When you eat a burger made out of beans or a pizza with a bunch of vegetables on it, you cannot not be both happy and proud about yourself 😄 and it's true what you mention, tastes are more intense (and also not that addictive, which might be worth mentioning here)
i love meat and dairy but i don't feel guilty, i can eat anything i want. i regretted trying vegan cause it just wasn't enjoyable and it caused problems for me like gas bloating hunger and insomnia to name a few.
@@cattygirl6663 because apparantly you maybe didn't do it in a correct way or maybe try and find the right way for you. I enjoyed meat and dairy too once, but it doesn't make sense to harm the planet and other living creatures just because you are enjoying their secretions and body flesh. Don't you agree?
I used to be an ex vegan. I am deeply ashamed that I allowed myself to go back to hurting my friends, even temporarily. I took responsibility for my actions and I am now vegan again for 4 months. I will never quit again. It was my fault I didn't eat enough the failed the first time as I had an eating disorder, the vegan lifestyle was never to blame like so many ex vegans like to say. Vegan for life. ❤🌱
I did slip up once and it was because I was surviving on salad three times a day. Didn't do my research, as Ed instructed in the video. I went back to veganism and found a whole world of food I'd never even thought of before.
Glad to hear you've found the problem and are willing to go back at it again with a different mind set. You are well and truly beyond the majority at the moment, keep it up and you won't go wrong! This is a great reminder to others, that if something doesn't feel right, investigate it, test it and find the problem, to fix, rather than avoid. Your body will only thank you over and over.
Taking responsibility is always better than finding an excuse. We're glad that you've made the ethical choice.
With you 💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚
It’s not about perfection. It’s about trying and trying and trying again. No matter what! ❤️
Going vegan was easy once I learned the truth about animal agriculture.
Same ✊🌱
animal agriculture is based on plant agriculture. that's why it's thriving in the first place and if you really want to take down the largest portion of animal food which is factory farming then you'd go after plant agriculture aka monsanto, and instead stop exaggerating about the power of meat and dairy based industries when sugar based companies like coca cola, kellogs, nestle are the richest corporations.
Same
@@MrJavacash So your suggestion is to stop eating plants in order to stop factory farming? You're bullshittin me, right? ... RIGHT?!?!?
@@KleenerBro Is his argument "plants though!" ???? That's a new one.
To be honest, after 2 years I forget I'm vegan sometimes. Not in the way that I eat animal products and realize that I wasn't supposed to eat them, but in the way that it's just such a core part of me that I don't even consider it an inconvenience or sacrifice. When people find out I'm vegan for the first time I always laugh and say "Yeah, I guess I am." It's such an obvious choice to me that I'm always surprised people are very much opposed to vegans existing.
Thanks Ed, your gentle demeanor has helped me have some great discussions with people about veganism, and while I haven't turned anyone vegan, I still get texts from friends and family when they make vegan meals which is a start.
Ryan W Agreed. Great to get to the point where you don’t really even think about having to make a vegan food choice any more. It’s just automatic.
Choking me up, reading that comment. I feel you! 💕
Totally relate to this!
Hi Ryan, I feel you, I thought the same. I also said "I haven't turned anyone vegan, ..." while I was still making a positive contribution around me.
I wanted to change that, and I did by joining Anonymous for the Voiceless. Twice a month I speak for the animals with people on the street, and each time, many say they will have a look about it or try to be vegan. By now, I must have turned at least one :)
I really encourage you to do the same, I really feel like my impact is really bigger this way. It's not difficult. It could be any other association of course :)
It will get to the point where the food we eat isn't called vegan food it's just normal food... And the animal products have the labels that day they have abuse within them
Ed for prime minister.
Why do you want eating meat to be illegal
Yes!
Find The Light god yes
@Find The Light I will subsidise it more for poorer families so that they can get all their nutrients instead of buying supplements

I was a "proud meatatarian" before I saw Dominion. It was normal for me to only eat animal products for nearly every meal. Eventually I couldn't stand it and went vegan over night. I went so far as to not eat at all for a day and a half, because, I had no veggies in my house. And this is the most extreme of situations. I am happier vegan than I ever was as a "meatatarian". I even sponsor a rescue chicken. She's so cute. You can do it, my dudes! 😜 I believe in you. 🤘🏻🖤
Just curious: what did you do with all the left-over animal products in your house?

Veganism is NOT A DIET
I'm just 16 years old and I'm trying to go vegan. I can't believe that a couple months ago I used to make fun of vegans but now I'm trying to convince my family that this is the right thing. Your videos really opend my mind. I hope I can move out soon so I can change my diet.
I feel you I'm 14 I've been vegetarian for about 4 years and now I'm thinking about going vegan but my family wants to do things like Lobstering anyway maybe just say your going vegetarian first and my Experience they are not going to go vegan/vegetarian if they don't want too
You need not move out if you prefer not to. You can educate as you go and show by example. You may face mockery as people's conscience get jolted consciously or unconsciously but do be mentally prepared with answers. You can never lose an argument about compassion.
I’m 14! My mom and I did the 21 day vegan kickstart and now I’m vegan!! She’s isn’t unfortunately, but I’m glad she tried it with me:)
Esmae Dolman there are other people that became vegan at 14! I did months of research beforehand to make sure this is healthy and that I’m getting the correct nutrients I need. There are many studies that link meat to so many complications. I feel great because it’s good for my body:) ❤️
Esmae Dolman I’m sure that it’s because of poor eating. Not consuming enough nutritious foods. I think that everyone no matter the diet should just be making sure we’re all getting the correct nutrients we need:)
@@lxtvse Exactly. Most ppl don't ever think about nutrition until someone says the word 'vegan', then they suddenly become experts. Just eating an adequate quantity of a wide variety of foods should suit virtually anyone. Sites like chronometer are also useful, but don't become obsessed. BTW, I changed at 14/15, and that's over 25 years ago. I'm still here and not wasting away:) It's really easy nowadays, no excuse for anyone to suffer just to become a meal on someone's plate.
I am 15 ans i am vegetarian almost vegan and as long as you take your b12 supplement and vitamins and eat nutritious/various food and enough you can live a healthy plant based lifestyle.
I suggest you to see a nutritionnist and to make a blood test every year .
@Esmae Dolman Please stop appealing to tradition and/or nature, they are major fallacies. Just because we have done something in the past, it does not make it right or moral now. Humans do not require meat to survive and if it's not your mom it's not your milk. Look into well-conducted research such as Dr Greger's work, not propaganda from big corporations
Ed you posted this on the day I went vegan. There was milk in my coffee this morning but as I took the last few sips I knew that would be the last animal product I would willingly consume. Then this video pops up in my feed a few hours later. Thank you 🙏
Keep it up! It's easier than Non-vegans make it out to be. Search "Dairy is Scary" on RUclips and you'll never think that cow breast milk is appetizing again.

Vegan for almost 10 years now and wish I started sooner. ♥
The "How to deal with plants rights activists?" had me DYING. OMG LOL.
Conversation between me and my classmates:
Them: “but what if plants feel pain too”
Me: “but they don’t”
Them: “but what if”
Me: “they don’t even have nervous system”
Them: “you are just avoiding the question”
“We got u! Hahaah”
It happens to me too. Remember another one: If they really care about plants suffering pain (that don't , but.. ), remind them that to keep animal farms, more plants have to be consumed than for a vegan trade. (I learned it in an Ed video). I understand you anyway, sometimes is frustrating. I'm quite sure someday in the future we will remember this as the beginning of what's right, so I don't mind a bit of frustration now. And again, the peaceful and well documented way of Ed to chat with non vegan people is an inspiration. Keep it up! 💪Peace and love ☮️✌️💖🌿🐾

@Ann I hate bullies like this! I would get way more angry in this kind of situation. Sadly no one is messing with me now (maybe beacuse i am 200 pound vegan bodybuilder) i would gladly destroy (without violence) idiots like this.
@AG Coarseman How? I build muscles. I track my macros like proteins and carbs. I use supplements. I love going to gym and lift heavy. And i love eating beans, tofu and rice. I am just typical vegan bodybuilder.
Any questions? How much do you lift?
@AG Coarseman I can easily get get over 180g of protein per day (i thing that's more than i need). I have bean working out only for 2 years so i am not as good as you.

Went vegan overnight after hearing what bacon sounds like and watching mother cows chase after their babies.
What helped me the most was being aware of WHY I want to be vegan. When the why is strong enough, the how sorts itself out! ♥️
I thought being vegan would be painful. I was a big fan of meat and ice cream and pizza. But I barely notice the difference. Every day I find something new that's vegan - chocolate praline, Ben and Jerry's vegan range, Costas 'cheese and ham' toastie, Pizza Express pizzas. I get just as excited about dinner as before, and yet there is a massive weight lifted off my shoulders in that now I look at cows and see a beautiful creature that I want to spend time with and stroke, rather than moving food.
Imagine how quick this info will spread if everyone who watches this vid shares it.

Once I quit the shit and got rid of animals products in my gut I have never felt better. This is a super saiyan god diet to say the least...
Veganism stopped my constipation problems, boosted my energy to goku levels, increased my stamina and cardio health tenfold, lost ALL unnecessary body fat, gained a higher sex drive and actually grew a full inch within the first year, required less sleep and only need around 3-4 these days instead of the usual 9-11 hours I needed before, stopped sweating at night, have no heartburn now EVER which is ridiculously amazing for me as I used to struggle to eat anything 4+ years ago, got healthier and fuller hair instantly, cured my joint and back pain, healed all my acne and continues to keep it away, now have zero depression or other related mental struggles, the list goes on......
GO VEGAN FOR LITERALLY EVERYTHING GOOD IN LIFE: YOU, THE PLANET, AND THE ANIMALS WHO HAVE DONE US NO HARM AND ONLY WISH TO BE FREE.

I have been strugling lowkey on trying to become a vegan ecspecially when every time my family goes out to get food its meat thank you
Going vegan is a process, not everyone is in the position to go fully vegan from one day to the next.
So even if you're not fully vegan, you can consume less animal products meaning less animals will suffer.
Also, if you live with your family, try to propose a vegan meal or vegan day in the week or something. Show them that vegan meals aren't weird and it might change their minds over time.
Make your family a vegan moussaka from the "veganomicon" recipe book ... they will be halfway to vegan themselves once they learn what good vegan food tastes like!!
It's tough, especially when you don't have independence from your family yet. I went vegan as an adult so when my family asked me to join them at a BBQ restaurant for dinner, I politely declined since I knew there was nothing for me to eat. During the next family get together, they were sure to pick a place that had vegan options because they wanted me to be there. If they didn't respect my lifestyle then they wouldn't have gotten me to go to a place I didn't want to be. But since they cared about me, they found a way to accommodate me and themselves. If your family doesn't respect your wishes, they don't deserve your respect back.

i am so in love with this video Ed. I’ve been really emotional recently about the agriculture industry. This is such an amazing video. Coming to 2 years vegan now, the only regret I have in my life is wishing I had done it earlier.
Good video. Some friendly feedback:
1. In parts of the video, especially the earlier part, the music was a bit too loud and distracting
2. ***Also, I've noticed that Cronometer (the free version online, not sure about the app) has some flaws. For example, if you add in say "Eden, Organic Black Beans, Canned, Unsalted", the amino acid profile doesn't fill in, which might throw you off thinking that you're not getting them. Even if you put in 1000 servings, those amino acids don't fill in at all, a definite error.
With Cronometer, don't put the brand in. Just put Organic black beans. Unfortunately it only works properly with whole foods, because with brands it only takes into account the "nutrition" label on the package rather than the food itself.
That's not an error. That's simply a matter of data not being available. Data on individual amino acids is available for staple foods through the big government databases (USDA for example) but not for specific commercial products. And it never will be, unless the manufacturer provides it, or you estimate the amino acid profile based on the raw ingredients.
I've noticed this too with certain things in cronometer!!!
If you just put in "black beans, canned, unsalted" it would have a more accurate nutrient profile
We got your feedback. Your feedback will stop humanity from killing and eating animals. 🤣🤣🤣 Now... time for a cheeseburger with bacon 😋🍖

Excellent short video to share with friends who are contemplating the change - thank you!
Beautiful video... as always. Thanks Ed.
Everything about this video is incredible. Thank you.
regarding veganizing your favorite dishes, in my experience it takes a while before you get the same satisfaction from vegan meals. For me the meat/dairy cravings lasted about 3 weeks. After that i wouldn't want to go back to non-veganism!
Just saying, be prepared for the possibility that your body/taste takes a while to adjust to the vegan lifestyle :)
I’m going to share this right now - incredible video Ed & Surge!!
Wow. Really good production quality!!
When you think about it, most of the nutrients that people say youll be lacking if you stop eating meat isn't true, because most of those animals get those nutrients from vegetables so you can get those nutrients from plants.
encouraged my 'meatetarian' father to give up honey and milk. working on him slowly but surely :)
Wow 👏 😮
I tried to get my mom to stop eating animals but she still is unfortunately. But she only drinks plant based milk so that’s good :)
@@ashley-sv4lo that's good! update: my dad has gone back to dairy and honey 😠 but my mum is having soya milk in her cereal !!
This is such a great video! I will definitely be sharing this with friends and family.
I love the editing in this type of videos
Great Job 👏👏😁

Thank you Ed and your team for yet another amazing video!! I can see all of your hard work in your excellent quality content!! I always look forward to more!
Thank you so much for making those videos, you have no idea how much they are helping and supporting me!
good advice :) my advice is to subscribe to vegan youtube channels, watch cute animal videos especially of cows and pigs, go to animal sanctuaries if you can, and talk to family about it in an approachable way
Yummy animals
I love how even the examples of animal based food was still vegan irl. Bloodly love you Ed.
Packed with such helpful information. Quick and to the point. Great overall video!
Fantastic video as always, keep up the great work guys
Hey Ed! This has nothing to do with this particular video, but could you make a video about being a vegan dog owner? Is feeding your dog vegan food ever possible? If not, what is the best thing to do?
I liked the comment so he’ll see it
Thanks! :)
Apparently there are some dog food brands which are vegan and contain the right nutrients needed for a healthy diet. Cats on the other hand are obligate carnivores and as such; have to have meat as their primary source of food.
being vegan actually has made me feel so much healthier and enjoy my food a whole lot more!!
yay 11min earlyyyyy xxx I loooove your videos, you truly are insporational!!!
What a beautiful video. ♡ Thank you Ed and team. 🙏🏼
I still eat meat but far less than I did a few years ago. A small portion maybe once or twice a year now and that's only 'special' occasions such as Christmas dinner (I live outside of the UK and I miss our Christmas so much). Apart from that, I rarely eat dairy if ever. The only thing stopping me going full vegan is eggs. They are so ingrained in me that it's hard to give up. But I'm trying! It won't happen overnight, but I'm working on it such as swapping cream for coconut milk when making a curry (I make a banging chickpea curry by the way) and a great vegan chilli mac. Plus my vegan ragu is great (vegan beef instead of 'normal' beef and no panchetta). And thanks for the fish oil tip. Will defo have to look into where I can buy them.
Veganism is not yet famous in Japan. Unfortunately, many people have prejudice and discrimination about veganism... I’m so hurts sometimes..😢I definitely recommend this video for the Japanese people! Thanks!🙏🙏🙏🌱✨
Stay strong, you can do it! 💪🏼♡

Just another earthling Thank you!! I’ll do my best!😌🌱🕊 💕
'It's not about what you lose, it's about what you gain'. Love that phrase, and so very true. I've learned, and am still learning, so many new skills in the kitchen, including taste and flavors, what herb/spice goes best with what food, and having so much fun having the confidence to experiment.
And being vegan is not simply going through that door and stating, ok, I'm fully vegan. It's very much a learning curve, getting rid of bad habits ingrained into us over a lifetime, veganism is a way of life to aspire to. Information and knowledge is the key. In the year I've been vegan, I've made mistakes, but learned from them instead of beating myself up about them and then moved forward.
As always, another awesome video Ed, thank you. Thanks for all the time and effort you put into this channel. It's been a source of inspiration for me, and I'm sure many many others.
Much love and be safe.
love Love LOVE, that you used pickuplimes videos❤
Sadia and you are both so inspiring, two of my biggest role models!
I thought veganism was extreme. Now I think its extrem to choose torture and killing over just eating plants. Furthermore its also humans that are dying in order to feed animal "product". Choosing to feed a "steak" instead of a starving human child with grains is really extrem. Now a suffering cow for us "rich" people is valued higher than a human from a poor country. Without animal "mass production" the cow would not suffer and the humans could end starvation. Even if you view animals as soulless and emotionless (which is scientificly proven false) all those fields of soy and grains now used for animal farming should go to humans first. The more animals you save from being born into captivity (living hell) the more humans you rescue as well
Vegan for the animals
🌱💚
Always!!! 💚🌱💚
Ella T. After all this time
@Veg Mídia excellent video 👌
@adam zarbon The hardest part of being vegan is dealing with idiots
@adam zarbon The Future is Vegan 💕🙏
this is really nice! I've been vegan for four years now, but it was never difficult for me. I also stopped eating most processed sugar and random ingredients with dubious safety as well at around that time.
I could really use to keep better track of my nutrients, especially since I started working out a bit, but I've felt pretty good.
I often feel like I can't really talk about going vegan since it was so easy for me and I never had an aversion to eating simpler foods. Well, there are some I can't stomach in their plain form like lentils but there are plenty of options for me.
Earthling Ed you are pushing out amazing content. Thank you so much!
Thank you for this Ed, yet another beautiful video I can share with anyone curious about veganism!
You guys helped me go vegan 5 years ago! I’m so glad you’re making RUclips videos, I believe they have a lot more reach.
Loved this video, Ed. Keep up the amazing content.
So happy you made a video on this topic!
A small detail but I loved to see the clips of Pick Up Limes' videos in here because her channel was one of the first ones to introduce veganism to me. Her videos made the whole topic accessible for me and finally encouraged me to actually look into the reasons behind going vegan and do my own research.
