    I love this, but wish you would spend more time discussing the clear coat process. Example, how many coats, wet sanding between coats or not, dry time (cure time), and final wet sand/buff/polish procedures. That’s a very important step I feel was “glossed” over lol.

    Awesome video thanks for the tips. What type of paint did you use at each stage as I couldn't see it clearly. Thanks again .

    Would love some product information and where to purchase. I am doing a mini bike build on my other RUclips channel and love the results you achieved. Currently getting the frame down to bare metal.

    Hi! Excellent videos.
    A question, what alternative to Spray Max 2K? I can't find it in my country, I'm from Peru. Thanks!

    • @ryanlowe2808
      @ryanlowe2808 2 года назад

      Not a lot of alternatives in a can like this, but if you look for any spray clear with hardener, you’ll be good. 2K is a 2 part clear coat, which is why it’s so good. Without the hardener, it’s just not going to be nearly as good. I know about 3 other brands that sell 2K in a can, Eastwood has one, Upol has one as well. Otherwise, you’ll need a spray gun and then purchase automotive (2 part) clear, this I’ve used with a cheap guy and 3 gallon compressor on small projects with no issues. Good luck!

    Great Job but Powder-coat is the way to go

    1 can of that clear coat is like $20...

    • @AaronColton93
      @AaronColton93 3 года назад +2

      If you shop around you can get it closer to $15. It is the only real clear I have found in a can. All others lack the hardness and shine needed.

    Is that AC using a rattle can to paint a bike? Must have learned that from Tice 😄

    I love all of your videos but you dropped the ball on this one.. If the purpose is to educate on a quality, inexpensive job - you skipped any and all hints about the color & final coat. In primer you mention a 50% overlap and other details... but when you reach color/clear the video cuts to finished and we get no info on the most important part! Color and clear! How much overlap? How far from the part do you spray? How quick do you spray subsequent layers? Sanding between coats? Between clear? What if it looks dusty?

  • @praxedes2
    @praxedes2 3 года назад +5

    I spray painted my bike. Looked fine when it was done, but within 6 months the finish was total crap. When I took it to a pro to have it done, he didn't want to take the job because the rattle can paint is not compatible with professional-grade paint. Spray painting my bike ruined it. I can't believe Red Bull is promoting this.

    • @AaronColton93
      @AaronColton93 3 года назад +6

      That is unfortunate that you where not able to get good results with your rattle can job. With the use of this 2k clear this will last years and years of use without issue as it has been very durable and chemical resistant in other projects of mine. Also you where misinformed by your painter. If you have an understanding of what type of can product you are using Acrylic/alkyd/lacquer you can accompany it with a professional product later on if you take the time to prep and prime properly. You don’t have to believe it if you don’t want to but it is true and that is why we are sharing videos of this style.
