    pro tip: cold spray paint tends to "spit" out paint so be sure to heat the cans in a hot water bath for a smoother spray

    Dude it looks amazing. I think your process has just the "right" amount of attention to detail for my project. It's a motorcycle not a vintage car. I watched a whole bunch of other videos where the hit every coat with 3 different grits of sandpaper and a rubbing compound. I'm like, I can't see my own bike when I'm riding, and no one else would look at my bike with a magnifying glass. If it looks good 3 feet away, it's good. I'll definitely get the clear coat with the hardener and call it a day.

      I bought Ace Hardware branded Paint Adhesion Promoter, and as this video suggested used it as my primer layer. Worked fine. Painted an older GIVI top box (went from black to white) and its held up quite well now going on 2.5 years. Did another one without using paint adhesion layer and it makes a WORLD of difference. @@pat5861 you probably want to scuff the plastic first with a 3M pad, instead of polishing it smooth before painting. That way the paint will stick. You can wet sand and polish after the clear coat is put on to remove any orange peel.

      What is soap reduction?

    • @Sunn_on_my_D
      @Sunn_on_my_D 4 года назад +1

      I meant soap resist. Ive been doing my skate decks like that for a few years. You essentially put down your first color let it dry than put down dish soap and spray your second color. Where the dish soap is it masks the first color so when it dries you wash the soap off and its multi colored with a pattern. If you get good at pouring on the soap you can get all kinds of cool shapes. One of my last ones looked like tiger stripes. Then you just clear coat. I use poly on my decks cause it holds up good. I might try this on a cheap bike just to see how it holds up.
