I felt like a million bucks when I was eating right, counting macros, working out at the gym and in the best shape of my life. I got injured from an accident last year. I stopped working out, starting eating bad again, gained some weight and my anxiety/depression (PTSD) went through the roof. In fact it has been debilitating. I am currently working on getting back on track. Right diet and exercise is so important when you have mental health issues. I have learned that the painful way. Great video and information. I would love to have my brain scanned one day.
Hope everything’s going well and you’ve been making your way away from this downward spiral and into an upward-ascending spiral. Wishing you all the best ☺️✌️✨
I agree, with depression being sedentary and eating pre-made food, made things worse for me also, but now I started eating more fresh vegetables and cooked more, I slowly feel good effects to my mental health. It's still an effort to cook healthy but I try.
Same thing happened to me, I was injured and stopped heavy lifting. 2 yrs later I'm suffering with low mood, I can tell it's time to my died and all the med and drinking I was doing. I stopped drinking and slowing down bad habits, got back to working out. I'm still having these episodes though. Need help don't want to take the meds the doc gave me
I have all 18 besides the "no" factor. Im 38 yrs old, soon as I stop exercising for like 1 month all these symptoms resurface. Thank's for your information Doc
Nutritional yeast has all the B vitamins, except B12, and it has been a life saver for me. B vitamins especially B1 are very neural protective, but because they are water soluble they need to be replenished regularly. B vitamins are also produced by your gut biome so if you have gut issues you are probably deficient. I also supplement with Benfotamine which is a fat soluble version of B1.
I'm a 21 year old barely knows nothing of serotonin or health, but this a great and easily digestible video. I probably would've got bored at first. But how you layed this video out with a brief introduction, what you'll be presenting, including a personal story, the info and giving options/solutions. I just learned as of right now that I have a lot of your indicators of low serotonin, and i definitely want to do something about it. Thank Dr Amen!!
Oh my god. This totally works. Tried this with my daughter today. “No, you can’t go with us for a weekend getaway. You’re right. You need to be in the city.” To which she said, “ well do they have reliable, high speed wifi there?” Nope, probably not. People are looking to relax. Not reliable nor high speed likely. “I actually disagree with that.” And then she proceeded to argue about why they WOULD have good wifi.” I said “you answered your own question then” And she put a check mark on my text. Lol. And we didn’t lose thousands for a non cancellable 4 day weekend for 3. Try this! So much better than arguing with someone who has low serotonin and the resulting rigidity- through no fault of their own.

I believe this FUELS addiction (opiates in specific)
That would make sense because opioids raise serotonin until it wears off then it drops causing an addiction to the feel good effect of the pills.
