@lee maxsonwe can't stop thinking but it's the reacting to negative thoughts that causes all suffering. Just practice being aware of what you are thinking and don't give any attention to negativity and eventually those thoughts loose all their power.

      Do you take anything else?
      How are you feeling now?
Also if I may ask, do you suffer from premature ejaculation? If so has it helped?
      PE is associated with low-serotonin.

I felt like a million bucks when I was eating right, counting macros, working out at the gym and in the best shape of my life. I got injured from an accident last year. I stopped working out, starting eating bad again, gained some weight and my anxiety/depression (PTSD) went through the roof. In fact it has been debilitating. I am currently working on getting back on track. Right diet and exercise is so important when you have mental health issues. I have learned that the painful way. Great video and information. I would love to have my brain scanned one day.

I agree, with depression being sedentary and eating pre-made food, made things worse for me also, but now I started eating more fresh vegetables and cooked more, I slowly feel good effects to my mental health. It's still an effort to cook healthy but I try.

Nutritional yeast has all the B vitamins, except B12, and it has been a life saver for me. B vitamins especially B1 are very neural protective, but because they are water soluble they need to be replenished regularly. B vitamins are also produced by your gut biome so if you have gut issues you are probably deficient. I also supplement with Benfotamine which is a fat soluble version of B1.

Oh my god. This totally works. Tried this with my daughter today. “No, you can’t go with us for a weekend getaway. You’re right. You need to be in the city.”
To which she said, “ well do they have reliable, high speed wifi there?”
Nope, probably not. People are looking to relax. Not reliable nor high speed likely.
“I actually disagree with that.” And then she proceeded to argue about why they WOULD have good wifi.”
I said “you answered your own question then” And she put a check mark on my text.
    Lol.
And we didn’t lose thousands for a non cancellable 4 day weekend for 3.
Try this! So much better than arguing with someone who has low serotonin and the resulting rigidity- through no fault of their own.

He is going through bereavement too so he is working on himself too as he tries to help. I didnt think badly of it at all. But yes, perhaps its not so positive for others.

    I'm experiencing 14 out of 18.
Had too much to deal with, too much stress for quite a long time. I'm out of much of it but left with all these/depression/life not fullfilling, no enjoyment, fed up with everything, everything hard work, sometimes not wanting to get out of bed, plus other symptoms, delibitating ruminating being the worst/hamster on a treadmill, especially in the evening & bed time.
Spoke with my GP today & as well as self help, excercise, good diet, GP prescribed me antidepresants as it was deemed right that my serotonin levels must be very very low.

If you have low Dopamine... Mucuna Pruriens capsules are a good start. I used them to get off of caffeine... and they make me warmer during sleep, as well. I used to feel hungover nearly every morning without drinking!
My morning Brain is also working better than last thirty years. - I feel better EVERY morning, now.
I started with the 15% L-Dopa capsules twice a day. If you get too restless or agitated, take less or none. (You should NOT be on MAOI inhibitors like many antidpressants... ask your doctor, if on meds)
      Good luck.
For me, this is better than Any adrenal support I have ever taken... supports neurotransmitters and adrenaline, etc. No more burnout.
(Now I can see what my other problems are... with a clearer brain.)

    Probable solutions :
Aerobic exercise, recalling positive memories, meditation, supplements like Tryptophan or 5 HTP, Magnesium, B complex, Vitamin D or sunlight exposure, Threonine or Glycine (supplements in order of importance in my experience)
I had chronic anxiety and almost all symptoms of low serotonin. I remedied it first by supplementing with Mg & B complex, although now I take all the above and many more.

I went down and had no enthusiasm, my capacity for imagination was totally inclined to negativity and no window of positivity could lift me up. I hope your supplements got to you. I really understand what you're saying especially about even lacking imagination and talking yourself out of sadness but never feeling out of it. I struggle with addiction, methadone treatment and too much pot smoke. I'm on prozac among things and I feel that my pleasure system is completely out of order but I'm not sure if it's serotonin or dopamine or what. I lean towards dopamine though because I experience more anhedonia like than OCD.

I’m glad I found you doc.. I’ve been looking for a doctor on ADD MEDS. We don’t take anything but we’re looking for alternatives to drugs for ADD. We use nutrition and sleep primarily. Great stuff let’s hear it 💡

You have explained why I get the best nights of sleep when I eat simple boiled potatoes as my evening meal! Can you tell us something about seratonin and colon dysfunction? I recently had a sigmoid resection (leaking diverticles) and almost immediately afterwards, I had profound mood improvements. The initial procedure was indeed a life-saver (peritonitis) and I suspect I'm also experiencing post-recovery NDE phenomena.

Same here, I thought it was coincidence. Thank you for saying that about the small potato at dinner. 😊

@@SAMEntalhealth ok so what happened with me is..I became more assertive. I do not feel happier from taking it. And I also do not feel depressed. Sometimes I feel uptight (not caused by the supplement but also not fixed by the supplement).

    • @nick55ification
      @nick55ification 3 года назад +1

@@SAMEntalhealth I am not sure how long I would need to take it to get results...I had a long period of it and then a short period. I remember zoning out more during the long period which I really liked lol it felt like my brain was more relaxed...maybe I should be more consistent. More than anything I value meditation. Becoming aware of your life processes is good for the body and mind (all neurotransmitters not just one). I'd like to become better and better with my meditation. It is like my best friend.

@@nick55ification maybe you only needed less of it to prevent the zoning and be just right lol

I believe this FUELS addiction (opiates in specific)

    • @gloriaknott7448
      @gloriaknott7448 2 года назад +1

That would make sense because opioids raise serotonin until it wears off then it drops causing an addiction to the feel good effect of the pills.
