A galaxy-spanning adventure awaits in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, a new 3rd person action-adventure title from Respawn Entertainment. i would be surprised if the game is close to 8 hours long...
Yea lets hope its a bit longer but I suspect around an 8-12 hour lenght is what we are looking at. But who knows and lenght isnt always an indicator of how good games are or can be. Some of my favourite games are below 6 hours and some around 100h... Lets hope they have made a great SW game despite lenght. Personally im most looking forward to explore the inbetween of episode 3 and 4... I love the scenes with the At-At and dog fights of old clone transport ships and ties. I also love where the demos howed us the great junkjards of dismantling clone era starcruisers and bigger. I want more games to blend the eras more... its been something I have hoped games and spinoffs could do more of. I like the sort of graduall change and how you can regognize old weaponry and such from the older times.

Dammit I'm kinda excited about this game. But I dont trust anything EA touches anymore. Nevertheless the...lack of information on this game is interesting, and if lightsaber combat feels as good as ppl are saying...I dunno. Definitely too scared to pre order it, but I hope it's awesome.

Never preorder any game. Never. What's the point? In this day an age of downloading games via PC clients or onto consoles there is no way they could "run out" of product. Preordering only puts your money into a company's pocket prematurely. The only way we can affect change on any company is through our wallets. Why give up what little high ground you have?

@@uncouthLIyouth It's simple. I wait until release day to a couple of weeks after before I make the final decision to purchase a game or not. I try to refrain from buying on the first day because the only reviews that are available are from "official games journalists/reviewers" and as we all know, favorable reviews can be bought.
This is how I avoided getting shafted by Battlefront 2, Anthem, etc. This way, publishers like EA don't get a sale out of me due to my ignorance or impatience. Additional perk, I don't end up feeling like a fool that got gypped.

This extended gameplay was more interesting than the E3 reveal for sure but I'm still kind of unimpressed. It looks too generic to me and I see a few major red flags:
1. Lightsaber looks terrible. It's like a dim glow stick rather than a real lightsaber. A real saber should have this bright white core inside and a colorful glow around it. Also, a blue saber is supposed to be darker and more saturated, not washed out like this.
2. Saber doesn't feel right. It's like a glowing baseball bat that Cal jsut smacks people with. You can't feel the strength or cutting power. Even though they took some inspiration from Sekiro, enemies still soak damage when in reality blows should be fatal. Why is this purge trooper tanking all those direct hits like it's nothing? They could have easily made those guys better at dodging and blocking so when you finally do hit them it's instakill like it should be.
There is also no dismemberment on human enemies which makes it immature, cartoonish and boring. The saber should be able to cut off arms, legs and occasionally maybe even heads. I don't get why they don't allow it since troopers wear full armor anyway so it wouldn't even be that gory. We wouldn't even see dismembered bare bodyparts, just armor pieces.
3. Combat is also too generic in general. For example I always chuckle when I see in modern games this tired old mechanic of rolling on the ground. HAVE YOU GUYS EVER SEEN ANYONE USE THIS DODGE TECHNIQUE IN REAL LIFE? This is utterly impractical and it looks bizarre as fuck. We kind of got used to it because games have been doing it for a long time. It may have been understandable in PS3 era but the devs should move past it by now. Just give us proper dodges and counters or force dash like in Force Unleashed. Those Witcher rolls look terrible and extremely out of place.
4. A lot of animations look clunky, stiff and jsut straight bizarre. Cal walks and jogs like a weirdo who shat in his pants, climbing feels incredibly stiff like from a 2009 game, double jump reminds me of Lego Star Wars and wallruns are too slow and they transition from jump to wallrun too abruptly and in a jarring way.
5. Level design is extremely outdated. The world feels like a theme park or a parkour route. Everything seems to be built solely to accommodate Cal's very specific skill set. How are these troopers even navigating this base if traversing it is only possible if you can wallrun, use force push and slow time? xd
All those pipes, walls and grates are unnaturally positioned to serve a purpose of giving gameplay opportunities to the player but it's too clunky and it doesn't fell right. It's like a PS3 era platformer. Modern games with good design avoid this by blending gameplay mechanics into the environment more smoothly. The Last Of Us or Uncharted 4 are good examples of how it should be done right.
In conclusion, "I have a bad feeling about this".

I have to ask if you've enjoyed any other Star Wars game? Because these could be criticisms for literally any of the "golden era" Star Wars games. The only one I know that had lightsaber combat that didnt feel like clubbing people with a blunt stick was the Jedi Outcast/Jedi Academy which had a low % chance to make an arm fly randomly sometimes, some epic dismemberment lol. This game has you impale human opponents or slice chunks out of them, and when against bugs or droids you can dismember. If that makes this game immature, cartoonish or boring i'd be interested to hear what Star Wars game wasnt.
@@MikeHesk742 In Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy you could actually change the dismemberment degree and probablility with simple in-game commands.
When it comes to good games I think the best were: Jedi Knight series (JO and JA), first The Force Unleashed (although a completely different style), Republic Commando, Empire at War and original Battlefronts.
I wanted another knights of the old republic game.
So.. Your video actually made me see the potential from this game. Let's hope it's as epic as your voice makes it sound. lol

I would wager that the reason their is no hype for it is because of how EA have treated their fans and the pressure they put on other studios that they control to push out games to a tight release. Where as Cdproject have treated their fans with alot of respect and haven't exploited them with micro transactions or as EA calls them now all of a sudden "Surprise Mechanics"

I want a gta5 type of star wars game, online, a few planets to explore with no use of lightsabers only guns and like how you can Buy ceos and other illegal drug business u can buy star destroyers or a place to collect bountys from the huts id set it about 3 months before rouge one and if you can pick if your on the dark or the light and thw only difference is if u pick the dark you get extra missions from the empire and are aloud to get a free tie fighter and aloud to fly near and enter the death star. If you picked light u get a free xwing and your not aloud near the desth star unless in a mission or in a ultimate freeplay match with no missions for anything. You also get missions from the rebellion on yavin 4. There is aslo an extra option of sides when u reach rank 50 and u can choose to become a bounty hunter and customise your own armour FOR FREE you also can then unlock weapon wraps for your weapons and ships. If ur a bounty hunter u can accsess both the death star and rebellion but can only do missions for the empire, but are aloud in yavin4 and can help your friends do missions. U also get your own missions from Jabba on tatoine and finially at rank 100 you are aloud to to jedi training and can wield a lightsaber but only in missions this is even aloud if you are a bounty hunter!

Absolutely you can. You fool the people who weren't going to buy it in the first place based on previous experiences with EA, with a misleading trailer and expectations. The players then drop fat stacks on the game and are left with a shallow experience that differs from what they were led to believe. Predatory from a different angle.
Whether you trust them or not is irrelevant, just dont preorder (because that'd be dumb) and see how it looks on launch. Then we'll find out if Respawn did a good job, because if this game is good the only credit EA can take is for not interfering.
EA has a pretty good track record of keeping their grubby little hands off of Respawn's titles. Titanfall 2 and Apex Legends are great, have very minimal microtransactions and both get free updates.
Development for Fallen Order also started in 2014, three years before EA bought Respawn, and the devs said it hasn't influenced the game at all.
How does one actually LOVE the last Jedi?? There isn't even anything to like about it, let alone love...

I feel like they've taken something special away from Kylo Ren by giving this character Force Freeze; which requires intense concentration and reflexes but an untrained jedi can do it.
Untrained jedi do a lot of things in Star Wars. It's the job of expanded universe and prequels to try and retcon how blowing up superweapons with your eyes closed or pulling objects to you or mind tricking guards with no training are basic tricks that any padawan know.

Hey does anybody know what type of AT-AT Cal climbs up in the trailer is? As you can tell from the outside of the cockpit it doesn't share the same resemblance as the standard AT-AT from the original trilogy. Thanks.

EdgeRunner it’s a single player story driven game, beyond possible dlc what micro transactions could you add to this type of game that would even remotely ruin the basis and playability of the game? I'm in love with this man's voice! You'd could talk a nun out of her panties. Furthermore, your hands on analysis has actually increased my interest in this game. While I love star wars and RPGs, I regard this game with much suspicion. Two reasons why: 1. It's being produced by EA and they're infamous for their anti-consumer practices. I've seen too many fans and gamers burned by them. 2. It's being fucking produced by EA.
Please EA, don't fuck it up. We're starving for a good single player Star Wars game w/o loot boxes and related crap. Produce a good honest game, and it will be bought. Produce a game full of underhanded tactics, and you'll have another Battlefront 2 on your hands. The choice is yours. I pray you make the right decision.

Kyle Katarn is too powerful to be tamed by HD graphics, his true form can only be depicted by blocky graphics or even better by cheesy live-action cutscenes. Maybe someday he will grace us with his blocky presence once more.

Not sure what his opinion on Last Jedi has to do with his ability to judge whether combat feels fun, or a game to let you explore. He didnt see enough of the game to tell you anything about the story. Not sure why I bother, I've heard fans say the same about Episode 1 and Episode 2 when they came out, and how no true fan would ever accept them.

Exactly. It's like James Bond films. Some are better than others. Some are more liked by some and others may not. At the end of the day, it's still Star Wars.. and that ain't bad.
