    It’s a small world because I did that run from Zurich to Lucern just yesterday, probably my last ride out on my 850 Sport before I trade it in for a 1200 GT Pro on Friday. The Vignette (not Carnet) for the motorway costs 40 francs (a bit more than 40 Euros), but in 6 years as a biker in Switzerland I have never been checked. I’m not saying don’t buy one if you’re passing through, but…
    Either way, nice to see you giving good publicity to my adopted homeland. Hope you come back one day.
    P.S. Interlaken is a lovely place to stay, but Andermatt is best positioned for the multiple passes in that area: Oberalp, Gotthard, Furka, Susten, Grimsel, Nufenen, Lukmanier and Klausen are all on your doorstep. Take a long weekend and ride them all. You won’t regret it.

    Fond memories of our 2 week stay in Interlaken in the 80's, food was to die for, especially the sweet menu, highlight was the 3 train trip up the Jungfraujoch and through the North face of the Eiger, you and the bike are holding up well in the heat, memories that will last forever, wonder what Triumph will do with the bike on it's return ?

    Re interesting birds of prey. Here in the UK we also have lots of interesting birds if one only is aware. Example the cutting on the M40 heading North past High Wycombe, the numbers of red kites are amazing. Here where I live in Kent, a 6 mile ride to my next village I will see probably a dozen buzzards ( not the African sort, these look like slightly smaller eagles). With the reduction in the use of poisonous pesticides and the fact that game keepers will be prosecuted for shooting such bird’s, the raptor population has recovered. I had the fortune recently to pick up a buzzard (fortune for me not the buzzard) that had bee hit by a lorry on the A229. I stopped my car across the road to give me time to recover it before it was hit again or run over. I picked it up like I would a chicken and bundled it into the front passenger’s footwell of my Range Rover (with my dogs on the back) and drove it to the animal rescue centre in High Rocks near Tunbridge Wells. They kept it in overnight and then phoned me to say that it wasn’t injured just stunned do would I collect it and release it back near to where I found it. This I did. I called the bird Eric, it may have been an Erica. When I picked it up, again like I would a chicken it was totally calm and enjoyed the 40 minute drive back to the release point. So much so that when I released it the bird just lingered, stayed with me for about 30 minutes totally free but not wanting to go. Eventually I had to say, “you had better go now” and I left.
    I hope it has a good life.

    Beautiful landscapes and beautiful bike, I see you are using a Arai helmet, are you liken it and does it work well with the intercom and GoPro?

    • @MOTOUK1
      @MOTOUK1  2 года назад +1

      Thanks 🙏 yes I love the Arai lid, plenty of ventilation which was needed in this heat and one of the best helmets for not steaming up with glasses on. The intercom Cardo bold speakers are great and actually sit in the cheek pads special place so makes it comfy. The camera is fitted to a custom mount and works very well. Yeah, Migros is a Swiss company. Stopping at crossings is mandatory. Otherwise you will get a nice fine, especially in Switzerland, where speeding is more expensive than in any other country I know. Swiss registered car holders get the normal fine (a few hundred bucks) as well as a tax based fine which will definitely hurt and stop you speeding right away. I know people who paid more than 10000 CHF. There are stories once in a while of people paying up to 100k (!) just for this, no kidding!
