sorry to be off topic but does any of you know of a method to log back into an instagram account? I stupidly lost my password. I would appreciate any help you can give me.
@Dangelo Neil I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff atm. Takes quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
I was setting up another plane and noticed the pitch feed forwards were low, I went back to this video, found the value of 80 and used that for my setting. Thanks for sharing that info. Thanks for the two videos. We'll be featuring them in about a week.
Great job Sir Andrew and thanks for taking the time to show how you set up a Matek F405-Wing board, and thank you for showing that this wing is more then enough and checking that the control movements are the correct way in the auto mode I hope all is well at the Andrew house looking forward to part 2 take care
THANKS, thank for your ..................................!!! For this recording, very detailed and helpful, one of the best about the AR Wing 900. Regards.
One of the better vid's Andrew re 405 board going in my FX61 never had a FC in it, will still retest wing before hand. Has not flown for three years. Cheer's Mate.
Perfect wing for it. iNav will effectively provide a 50 / 50 elevon mix and 70 expo. So get your throws right for that and you won't get any nasty surprises.
Great tip on the 405 setup and tricks looks good . im building an inav bixler2 and these basic pid settings were giving me trouble. thanks Andrew much clearer now👍👍
Good timing, I just finished my first build of an AR Wing and followed the guide myself. Haven’t been able to maiden it yet, and I just might wait for the next video to see if you crash!
I look forward to seeing a few videos of you flying it buddy. By the way - thanks for your help with your parrot disco mods. I did the battery table mod and looking to do the soft mod soon. Your videos really helped me out. Cheers
Also, lately I have been using epoxy/micro balloons for all UFL connectors and electrical connectors. When you think about all the times we move them around, we invariably will break them off. If you break a UFL antenna, you have a really difficult task of repairing it properly.
Mine is still being built but a few who have been flying the AR for a while have discovered that it can "pitch-bob" because the wings are too flexible and twist in bumpy air. It makes the video bob up and down. Most are laminating and/or adding additional sparring. I'll be modding with 1.5mm rods diagonally across the wings to stiffen it up.
My AR900 circa 2021, came with motor and mg servos installed. It also came with a plastic skid pan for the underside. I used a Zippy 3 cell 2200 mah up front with stock motor on rear (2212 2300kv) Flight controller in centre of fuselage. To get near CG, I need to have the RunCam 2 installed. If I want to power the Runcam 2 also from the flight controller I will have to remove the battery and add 50 -60 gms of lead to compensate. This model only kept me occupied for about an afternoon - is that good? Still raining outside!
Andrew great videos easy to follow. However, in the beginning you showed a Frsky X4R but on the installation it appeared you were using the X6R judging by the number of pins. the 6 version has Sbus. Or am I seeing things..........um!
just a note... @6:48 where the F405 wing has the power/ground around the wrong way - just be aware that if you're using an F722 or F765 wing board, they have that fixed they are the "correct" way around
Video Signal, V+ and Ground solder pads are in a different order on the boards. F722 and F765 match conventional servo extension wires, but the F405 doesn't
This Wing configuration is only for skilled pilots and engineers. The Twinstar type plane is easier to use for single eyed UAV/FPV. If you use only 2 servos on the Wing it is better to use A-grade parts, also ESC, UBEC and motor and prop.
Andrew, great Illustrated video on the AR wing. Question I needed answer is I have an AR wing with the Matek F722 FC can I use the same parameters from the F405 into the F722 FC?
Fantastic build Andrew! That should help to demonstrate the flight characteristics of our beginners setups. One suggestion. In configuration you haven't enabled Permanantly Airmode. This should be enabled all the time in fixed wings or you won't have any stabilization if you glide the plane.
Thanks Marc. I am deliberately leaving Air mode off these days, mainly so I see ACRO in the OSD rather than AIR. I start with planes that fly well in manual mode so a manual glide should be OK.
@@AndrewNewton interesting. I might try that too on some planes. Never tried it as Pawel highly suggests to keep it on. Not sure how it will behave in a glide.
@@MarcFPV I haven't had a chance to test it yet but one of my subscribers tells me it makes no difference at all. I also read that you will have the throws available in Acro rather than full Manual.
How much fly time do you get with your setup? I wanted to make a long range build with the R9M module but now (after buying all the stuff...) I realized that this wing doesnt have space inside for a 4000+mah 3s :( Good video btw.
The beauty of this & the S800 are you can build them nearly any way you like & they fly well. A great guide but I disagree with the rigidity on motor choice & FC. I run a Matek F411 wing, racestar BR2205 1722kv green motor, and gemfan 6042 prop. With 4S1P 18650 battery all up weight is 550 grams including the 4S1P lion and it flies for 20-30 minutes & rips if you open up the throttle.
I am sure it is in the instructions however you didn’t show checking that the control movements are the correct way in the auto modes. As you know this is totally vital to make sure the controls correct any movements in roll and pitch.
Sir Andrew in my AR Wing Mini Inav build I First centered servo horns using servo tester then connected to my inav board with servo midpoints at 1500 on both. After powering my receiver and battery pack and inav board one servo went up and another went down. Do i need to adjust my servo horns for a 90 degree in inav or i just immediately proceed to adjusting my servo linkages to achieve neutral setting?
Great wing Andrew.. Congrats for setting up successfully. 😀 I built same AR wing supplied 19v through 5S1p Li-ion (AUW ~670g , 5S1P battery weighs ~270g) still does not fly😂 drive.google.com/file/d/1GTzZI7OjX9jRyYtUC8GQngcA4Nxj4LXn/view?usp=drivesdk Build: 1. Batteries; I am using Lithium-ion 4S1P (4 batteries connected in series), delivering voltage around 12-13 volts. Tried with 3S packs as well to reduce weight but still did not fly. Weight of batteries along with the holder is around 130g (each battery 30g + case holder 10g). As an alternative, I tried to change batteries to Varicore 18650B green ones (see pic attached), no luck! 6. Props: 5030 Tri-blade
You are a great radio control professional, greetings from the south of Spain, thumb up.
Thank you very much!
That may be the best wing setup video I’ve ever seen and I’ve seen them all! Thanks Andrew, I really enjoyed it and learned a few things as well. 😎
Thanks Tom, should be testing it in a day or two
I agree 👊👊💪💪

Sweet wing and very Good video. So excited to be starting a new adventure this summer!! Thanks for video and Bless

Nice combo. Just use the defaults (not from the preset page) and increase the FF values until you have enough throws in ACRO mode

Thanks for this video Andrew. I'm about to do an inav on a zohd dart xl with an matek f405, so this is really usefulfor me.

That was an interesting sounding motor, on the plane flying over, at the very end.
Sound effect, dont know what it's meant to be.
Excelent video
I like the idea of a stronger motor/esc combo. Mine felt a bit anemic at launch.
Thank you so much for putting the pdf file below I dont have FB so I cant view there thanks
No FB? What do you do with all your spare time?
Could you do a video where you explain all the modes for airplanes and drones?
Check out my iNav playlist
Could you post the plans please?

OSD, PIFFS and modes should be OK. Servo numbers might be different. You would have to carefully check the new board function before trusting it.
