Little fact about the scream at the start, the producer Martin Birch (RIP) had Bruce do vocal takes of the entire intro for hours and hours until he was so fuming he started throwing things around the studio. Eventually the greatest scream in metal came out of his pure frustration. Goes to show just how amazing of a producer he really was, despite Bruce disagreeing with him at the time im sure he'd agree it was worth it in the end. Keep up the uploads man you deserve every bit of attention you get, killing it brother 🤘

I love Maiden, Sabbath, Priest etc and all those artists admire Alice!
Hanging and beheading himself on stage, Alice turned the rock show into theatre !!
Forgive my enthusiasm but often Alice gets overlooked on reaction channels and was huge in the 70's and has never stopped. Still putting out material and killing it live!!
There were so many stories of the grotesque shocking acts Alice would do on stage.

My very first album, with a fun kid story: I was 12. For the start of the school year, I asked my mother to buy me an Iron Maiden t-shirt, because I thought the image and the writing of the name were cool. Naturally, to show off, I told my mates I loved the band (even though I'd never actually listened to them). I organized a party at home, birthday party style, and a friend invited to make me happy bought me this album, which had just been released. That's how I discovered and immediately loved this band. It was my only record, or at least the first complete album of a band I had. In those days, when you had a record, you listened to it over and over again, not like today's new generation of music consumers. This time I could say it for real: I'd become a real Iron Maiden fan.
    RIP Clive Burr

They been doing this since 1979, and even before. In 1994 I had just about all their CD’s and they had put out over a dozen by then. These guys have taken me through all of my ups and downs through my adult life.
You’re just starting your journey, where some of us have 30, 40, almost 50 years of memories. And the best thing is we can all agree these guys transcend time and are just as relevant now as they were back then. And 50 years from now you’ll be us commenting on the future listeners..

It helps when your new singer not only has a golden voice, but top of the class scores in English, History and Economics. Songs were very much based on existing literature, and history. Heard through the music of metal.

One thing about Iron Maiden I’ve noticed is the big songs “everyone” knows of theirs are good but the songs that you’ll discover once you deep dive into their discography are epic! 🔥🤘Up the Irons!

My first concert was Iron Maiden in Denver in 1987 during their prime. There were three tornadoes that passed within a few miles of the old McNichol's Arena. It was a magical day during a magical time. Thanks for the money!

A signature metal classic. My stepdad introduced me to Iron Maiden with this song at the age of 13. Classic...
This is the title track from the album Number of the Beast. Its the first album at around 1982 with Bruce Dickinson. Every Iron Maiden album has a theme and a particular sound. Albums arent too different from each other but if you listen closely you can tell.

The Iron Maiden rhythm section back then, Dave Murray, Adrian smith and Steve Harris were absolutely top of their game, this was the first album they had Bruce Dickinson and he was a game changer, this was mind blowing 40 years ago. I've been a fan ever since.

Eddie has been a part of Iron Maiden since the beginning of. The musical talent in this band is just not seen anymore, I wish i could just stay in the 80’s when the music was at its best I believe. And don’t let the haters ever get you down bro. You’re doing a good thing here and you are highly entertaining, and I can respect that! 🤘🤘🤘

My first concert was Maiden when I was 12, in 1983. My daughter’s first concert was Maiden, she was 10-11. One of my favorite metal bands! Have you seen Dan Vasc’s cover of this? He does a great job. In fact, when he first dropped it he got a YT copyright strike and had to prove he didn’t use their original tracks. He thankfully got it fixed and it’s available to view.

I'm so thankful for my musical past, I wouldn't trade it for anyone else. The concerts and mom's record collection, dad being a bass player, Los Angeles rock radio (KMET and KLOS). I remember my friend picking me up for H.S. and hearing this track for the first time - I was a fan after that. Judas Priest will always go hand in hand with Iron Maiden for me because they were on opposite sides of the 180min cassette! Another custom was The Scorpions Blackout album on one side and Triumph Allied Forces on the other. I wore those Maxell tapes OUT!

Derek Riggs is the artist behind all Iron Maiden album covers, and they all feature the monster/creature Eddie, who also typically appears on stage with the band. It's a whole thing.

  • @joshuatmanion8010

Yes, that's the album cover. Now the larger guy on the cover and on the stage at the end is Eddie Maiden. They're mascot if you will, so on the wasted years video it goes a bit chroniclogically in his incarnations. They would also have giant versions of him as part of the stage depending on what tour it was.

Bands like Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Ozzy, Sabath, etc, were all real musicians with amazing talent. They weren’t driven by todays ‘monetisation’ or streams or clicks. They were doing their own thing and just rocking out with everything they had. Live life, explore, enjoy the journey, appreciate the talent and ignore the negative people. You’ll never walk alone. Up the Irons!

This track is from the album of the same name from 1982, the video contains imagery of the Crimson Ghost which was famously taken on by the Misfits as their logo, and the video also contains footage from an old 1950's sci-fi b-movie of the "rat bat spider" creature which was also used on the cover of the Misfits album "Walk Among Us", coincidentally also released in 1982. NOTB is a stone cold classic - album and song
