My celery comes in a plastic sack at the store. If I am not immediately using it, I take it out and wrap a paper towel around it and put it back in the bag. It helps keep it a lot longer, sometimes for weeks, in the fridge. The same idea works with unpeeled carrots, green onions, heads of lettuce, on top of your mixed greens if they come in a container with a lid, etc.

I wash celery and my other veggies in a tub of water with baking soda and iodine. Baking soda apparently is the best at removing the pesticides/chemicals. Iodine helps flush flouride and chloride (from tap water) out of the body, and is a great antimicrobial (which might prevent an e. coli infection from contaminated romaine lettuce or other produce). I prefer to juice all my vegetables and fruit though. If I drink a lot of juice (2 cups) I'll eat apples with it for fiber, to slow down the detox effect. (Otherwise it can cause painful diarrhea from excess bile flushed from the liver)
I like to put my celery ends in a bag that goes in the freezer along with other veggie ends and make myself a homemade veggie broth in the crockpot that I use to make soups and flavor my rice/lentils. I typically go through enough in a week. lol Celery gives veggie broth such a wonderful flavor.

try a celery smoothie with almond drink n pinch of stevia! i use an oster 1200 blender on smoothie mode so nothing is wasted. add crushed ice...fabulous!
Save all your veggie scraps in the freezer. Once you get a gallon size freezer bag full, turn it into veggie stalk. Free veggies stock is always nice. Just don't use cruciferous vegetables. They make it taste too earthy, and not very good.

You could save yourself some time. Instead of cutting the top and then the bottom of *each* stalk of celery (= 14 cuts of the knife), do this instead: line them all up (as you did when cutting them in half), and then slice all the tops and then all the bottoms at once (= 2 cuts of the knife). And no, I am not a rocket scientist!

Straight off the bag, I bring the stalk of celery to the sink, cut off dirty top part in one go with my sharp knife, next I slice off the bottom of the stalk with my knife all in one go, no need for cutting board, then I brush it with vegie brush, then juice I go

Quick hint Gabriel... after returning from the store take tinfoil, 3 X's the size of your celery and wrap your celery in the tinfoil. I guarantee it will last for weeks (not that your celery will) IDK why it works, I just know it does! Hope that helps with your weepy celery problems!

The flax is great for other benefits, just not the seeds. Tonight I wanted something a little sweet so I mixed up some peanut powder with water. Then melted some vegan chocolate chips (Lilly brand) took a date and dipped it in both. My version of having peanut butter date instead of peanut butter cup.

your fridge is freezing the top of your celery that is the reason for the discoloration of the tops. Adjust fridge temp or store sideways.

A well-planned vegan diet is acceptable for dogs. However, cats are obligate carnivores, so they cannot eat a vegan diet.

Looks like you froze the end of your celery by pushing the leaves to the rear of the fridge. Too cold back there.
