this is like, the best example of how no competition can effect a website. RUclips knows that no matter what goofy ass features they add, the users can't go anywhere, bc there's no other platform that is as big and popular as RUclips.
The thing they have to realize is that it doesn't stop people from not using their site in their free time. Sure, people have to use it during work and stuff probably but I bet people have used it during their free time less and less.
I mean, RUclips alts exists such as Rumble or Odysee, but they'll probably take their time to be as big and famous as YT until one or few managed to do so.
Well, or, you can actually pay for the platform you get hours and hours of entertainment on, just like Netflix or any other "sit on your butt and be entertained with video" services. Let's be real -- it's actually crazy they've allowed us, for this long even, to sit here and consume their service and bandwidth while giving nothing back, and not even watching any ads. It's not at all unreasonable that they crack down and expect people to offer something in return for their service like all the other platforms.
Yeah the internet is still somewhat young so changes will happen and I’m tired of being some sort of major problem because that’s what happens to (almost) everything, just look at the gaming industry
The problem is people are incentivized to treat RUclips like a business so of course they don’t wanna do scary things like “be creative” or “do something for fun or passion” the ai video idea stuff is there so they can pump out more stuff and make RUclips more cash
I saw a small art channel talk about making a website and starting a new era of the old internet. Where they go to a specific site for a specific creator. I think it is an interesting idea.
So not much will change haha. But I don't think this video will get big enough for yt to notice. I'm just glad I could finally say this out loud and see that I'm not alone😅
@@ethandtheangryenglishguy8253like what? I’ve never heard of alternatives besides like, Reddit, twitter, twitch, TikTok but none of those can be considered similar to RUclips
I hate this whole thing were companies are trying to make their apps this "All In One Super App" when the whole reason their apps exist in the first place was because they offered a different experience then the others. If I'm going on RUclips, it means all I wanna do is watch videos and maybe have smaller discussions with people through the comment section. If I'm going on Twitter, it means I'm specifically looking for more engagement with people on content (despite how terrible communication is on that site.) If I wanna see news.. I read the news If I wanted to destroy my brain I go on TikTok Blending all of this into one makes it so I have to deal with all of this when all I wanted was to watch videos. Not to mention that the blending of all of this will bloat the UI which if you're someone who already hates RUclips's layouts over the years then get ready for the ultimate complaint coming down the line. I feel like companies like RUclips wanting to make a All In One platform comes from the mobilification of the internet, as the importance of catering to desktop users keeps dwindling. Companies want to make it so the low attention span brains of a mobile user can have all their social ''needs'' in one app to drive up their engagement of the platform. As a mainly desktop user changes like this to the internet annoy me as again all I wanted was a video sharing site, not a mash up of multiple sites in one. I like keeping these things separate because it makes sense that if I wanted more engagement with people then I go to the site specifically meant for engaging with people and is designed 100% around it, and if I just wanted to watch videos I go to the site 100% designed around that, and hell if I wanted both at once I open two windows for the both of them. If all social media goes to this all in one platform idea, then what's the reason to choose one over the other, what's the reason to even use social media at that point if they all work the same? At that point I'll just go join forums like internet users before me did, because at least forums catered to whatever subject you specifically geeked out on even if some used the same template for their layouts. This is also why even though I wasn't there for it, the internet of the 2000s and maybe even early 2010s was the best era of the internet before mobile devices became the focus for the internet. Since people always have at least their phone with them the internet became focused companies trying to grab your attention at every point they can compared to before when you weren't always going to be at your desk on your computer. Sorry for the rant and also sorry that if my grammar and punctuation is garbage since I still to this day have not learned how to those correctly. (Which is embarrassing since English is my first and only language.)
I'm the last one to judge your grammar bro haha. If every app can do everything why do we need more of them - truuue. Valid points, thanks for sharing!
Honestly, I'm fine with RUclips having a livestream feature, a twitter-like feature, and just news. One thing on that platform that I hate is having a TikTok clone, since YT shorts being in there is just a nerfed version of the original YT video player; features like miniplayer and theater screen are nonexistent in YT shorts.
Was even worse when you couldn't pause and it didn't have a progress bar; I don't know how they convinced themselves that it was suitable to ship it in such an unusable state. I also still really hate how it's locked into a vertical aspect ratio and there's no way to go fullscreen to get rid of all the annoying UI.
@@Xedlord same. Vid's stuck in 9: 16 ratio and can't skip 10 seconds backwards or forwards via double tap on mobile without dealing with the fact that it gives the short, a like button instead when doing so.
I can't even go to youtubers' channels anymore. When I try to do it, it lags my whole browser and freezes the tab. I'm pretty sure it's just because I use firefox because even with all my plugins turned off it still does it.
Same for me too, YT causes a lot of memory leak in Firefox. A youtube tab consume almost 1.9GB of my RAM in Firefox, while on chrome it only consumes 700MB
I can't think of a site that's had more Enshittification than RUclips. You can't downvote comments, see dislikes on a video, block obnoxious channels and spam videos, cut off the obnoxious Recommended Videos sidebar, skip obnoxious sponsors and self-promotion ads in videos, or turn off/restore these horrible RUclips Shorts, yet RUclips thinks you should pay for this dogshit website by using RUclips Premium, a service that gives you literally none of these features that I need like six extensions for, all of which are free.
If you don't want recommendations and Shorts, turn off every personalization option in the settings. I have no Home page, no Shorts page, only Subscribers page. Higher risk of trapping myself in a bubble, but at least there's less shit to deal with.
For me I agree with a lot you're saying. Like it is so hard to make things on youtube. I'm a one man army, from creating my scripts, recording footage, edit my video together, add english and Japanese subtitles, make my own asset and recreate some, and make my thumbnails. I do everything on my channel because I am passionate about the things I do. And on some level it doesn’t feel like it is enough. Especially competing with ai generated content. It is frustrates me youtube it simply giving the tools to just ai content now. I feel like they penalize genuine creators.
I feel you bro.. Sometimes I write, record, mix, and master a song (the quality of the last two is questionable 😅), then I have to record and edit a video, as well as the music video (shit takes weeks), and all of that for 200 impressions. But fake, AI-generated science videos get millions of views. I'm completely fine with people not being interested in what I do, but I can't even tell when YT shows it to such a small sample of them. Well, the only thing we can do is keep improving, and I wish you the patience for that.
I don't mind editors being another character in the Video. I think it's funny and cute sometimes and allow a more shy person to dip his feet into being his own thing without being the main star. Like Lixen and Markiplier. I love seeing Lixen and what he does. There is also BozeVsTheWorld Editor who chips in and I think he is funny too. I don't think their bad but I'd just like to know who us editing because it can get confusing when an editor starts doing stuff. Nux has an editor who doesn't react while editing despite being talked to in the video. I think it amplifies any mistakes he makes because I can see where the editor forgot to edit something Nux said. I think if the editor had the place to chime and joke and add bits of their personality I think it just makes the editor work on it better like a collab they want to be proud of too. So yeah I understand but that's between content creator and editor. I'm sure they know their editor is editing before it's release.
One good thing I heard is that RUclips Shorts' maximum length is gonna increase to 3 minutes, the video doesn't have to be less than 60 seconds anymore.
What happened to the good old days of when RUclipsrs just played around and entertained each other?! Nowadays, it's all just drama, people talking about the drama, people copying the commentary RUclipsrs who talk about other RUclipsrs copying MrBeast or something, and then you get people who react to reaction videos (greenscreen kids). When I was young, I would watch these videos and think "that looks so fun, I wanna be a part of that.", and then that's why I started too. *I want to bring back the good old RUclips stuff.*
same here bro, RUclips is going downhill... And yeah, now I only make shorts content, because YT is pushing it more, what has RUclips become.... I miss the old days of YT...
@@cevatkokbudak6414 Because that doesn't always work. The 30 second rule is just kind of a myth. Nobody knows for sure that it's true. What we do know is that smaller channels can get strikes for saying "hell," but so long as you're larger and making YT lota of ad money, you can film in a sui¢ide forest like Logan Paul for all they care.
@haybale287 They made a video about profanity and said there is an 8 second rule, so assuming they don't lie in those videos I think we know. But you're right - the double standards are crazy..
I do agree with a lot you said, the gaming youtuber part miffed me a lil but it's cause I'm guilty. Big props to you bro, enjoyed the discussion and points you made.
The gaming part is very subjective. One man's trash is another man's treasure and I think it's super cool! (I make trash and I hope this rule will apply in my case as well xd)
A couple of comments (intended as contribution rather than anything explicitly negative): The issue you mentioned about "family friendly content" can be traced directly back to the Apple app store's terms and conditions (which Google also subsequently adopted most of). Apps were NOT ALLOWED into the app store if they hosted certain content. Did you hear about the "porn ban" that nearly killed tumblr? It's because Yahoo wanted the tumblr app in the app stores. Apple and Google have far too much power over apps and arguably should have been broken up via anti-monopoly legislation by now. The "bouncy subtitles" are an accessibility thing; disability advocates across the world have been campaigning pretty hard for creators to use them over the "standard" subtitles model you saw before. (You could think of it as being similar to dyslexia fonts.) However, this isn't a RUclips issue; they don't care about formatting subtitles (their auto-generated ones, which they are legally obligated to provide but not actually check, are pretty bad). If a creator is using "bouncy subtitles", their either listening to disabled folks, or "following a trend" from people who do. You don't have to like them, of course, but they don't exist because RUclips are trying to get your "eyeballs".
Good points! There could be more reasons behind some of those choices, and I wanted to include them, but the video would be an hour long one so I focused mainly on the problems not the reasons 😅 The subtitles can be added for accessibility, but I think most of them are there because they are attention grabbers - just like Subway Surfers footage. Shorts are made in a way to grab attention immediately, so that you won't swipe them in the first few milliseconds. But Shorts don't bother me that much tbh cuz I don't watch them. The bigger issue for me is if those subtitles are used in a normal video. They are also, apart from the reasons we've already mentioned, there for people using the scrubbing (I don't know how it's called) feature - when you hover your mouse over a thumbnail to see a little bit of the video. You can easily tell if they were added for accessibility or not by the length and placement of them. If they are only at the beginning - it's for attention, but if they're there across the entire video - it can be for the accessibility. Anyway, thanks for watching and leaving an insightful comment ♥️
@@marrassek Yes, that was part of the campaigning. People should at minimum upload their transcript to the appropriate section, was the first thing activists asked for (after RUclips were legally forced to provide various accessibility features in the first place). The evolution of that was what notepadGM called "bouncy subtitles", aka captioning shown on-screen that were formatted in a particular way and would appear at the rate of speech.
There's a reason that the Unix philosophy of programming says that a program should "do one thing and one thing well". Their fear was that if an application like a browser was also doing file system stuff, emails and all sorts of other tasks, that it would do everything, but none of it good in any way. They wanted simple, small programs that focused on being polished in the area they were designed for. This is kind of the issue with RUclips: Instead of just focusing on being a video platform it tries to be a whole entertainment suite: Music, movies, videos, short form entertainment, community posts, kids entertainment show, advertiser market, search engine, social platform and market place all in one. That way, no one is happy because it doesn't do a good job at either of those categories.
The way the community post tab is for phone users only. Desktop/laptop users don't even have this tab. I just need to randomly by chance get people's community posts in-between the sea of video and advertisements on my home page. I always see them way too late as well. Like at least one or two days. What's the point???
7:26 Wait you didn't know that? Comment dislikes have been meaningless for over a decade, the only thing they seem like they might affect is the order in which comments are shown when you sort by "Top Comments".
My channel is an another perfect example of why RUclips downfall is occurring. Although I am not automating, I am using ai generated scripts and images to assist in my videos, this is easy to make and is great for people like me who are very busy. I’m not supporting myself or hating on these kinds of shorts, but I think this might be another reason for this situation.
As long as you're using it like a tool, just to help you bring your own creative ideas to life, it's mostly fine. But I personally belive the more work you put in something the more valueble it becomes :) Neuralink violin player < real violin player, if you know what I mean.
Good video. Your best piece of advice was at the very end: Just go do something else offline. When I (sort of) retired from content creation, that's exactly what I did, and my life improved so much. It made me realize all the time I wasted binging content and getting mad that YT never improved as a platform, when I could've done something better with my time.
I'm sorry to tell you, but I liked the video....I enjoyed hearing your thoughts, and although I probably wouldn't watch this kind of video again, it was nice for the moment. I'm gonna go touch grass now 😞
Not to mention that commenting is broken. The current one is organized so that if even one of your comments has previously been removed or it has been filtered, it increases the probability that your other comments will also be caught in the filter and auto-removed. And this grows exponentially to infinity because it has no cooldown and I don't know why because it should have.
@@notepadGM Apparently, the names of the game magazines are read into these. At least based on my own experience, what has been the problem when someone asks for a source, but you can't answer because of this.
Bro so glad u did this video and i am so glad i never created a RUclips channel and i have thought about making a plate form will its like RUclips but better for everyone and 50 50 instead of 70 30 which is bad.. people like mr beast and ksi and logan paul would have been canceled
Also you watch historic documentaries on YT. Don't blur out the things it's about, and don't censor the words.. It's a historical documentary.. They were deemed ok for television at some point.. And TV censorship was already pretty bad, but still sort of acceptable.. YT censorship has definitely become a caricature of itself... TV also had advertisement.. TV advertisement started as small blocks of advertisements around news broadcasts... So in essence it started around things that per definition aren't pretty... I don't get the ridiculous "oh think about the advertisers" these days...
Nobody talks about how the app is getting worse and worse with every update. You need to click more times to access an option, the way you minimize and maximize the screen is annoying and overall everything is so damn bad now. I bet everybody feels that way.
speaking of bots, i had a pretty "popular" geometry dash youtuber come into my streams one time, flexxing his sub count almost immediately, because i was nearing 1k subs and he was like "i remember when i hit 1k, 10k, etc." and he was really rude to my viewers once i said idc how many subs you have just dont be a stuck up nerd and he lost his shit, as any botted channel owner who seeks attention does, but after a month of that i made an "exposal" video on him and i just recently did another search to find that he botted so many of his subs, comments, likes, its insane, legit 67m views but 650k subs? and he gets on average 2m views a month but 100k subs in that same month?? and for the comment bots, he has around 47-52 bot accounts (similar pfp/desc/video style maybe 1-2 vids per channel) and they all said the same thing or around the same thing to each other ever single time, and for the like counts, he usually get likes 10k views per short, but for a short that got 100k it got 5 THOUSAND LIKES and like over 300 replies?!?! and they were legit all the same message but altered a slight bit and its just absurd, and one of the accounts commented 4 times on that post alone, and for him commenting on other's videos, he does it everywhere, every single small creator, large creator i see has had a comment on their channel by this guy and he just seeks attention, saying something mildly related to the video for likes and attention for his check mark, and most of the small to really small creators heart his comments and or pin them so he gets seen even more! i hate this problem and hes not even the only one in the geometry dash community, ive seen 10-15 of these accounts, but only this one i talked about seemed to bot their subs, its just absurd and youtube NEEDS to fix this stuff asap
to be honest i mostly use youtube because of few addons i found for chromium that make it superior at listening to music than other websites (or to watch someone play/talk while grinding in some boring game lol)
Yeah, I agree. It is sad to see how the RUclips has change from being a site where you spent 2 hours max, and watch some funny videos, game guides etc. Nowadays it's a place where a lot of people just spend their time all day long, which is what RUclips wants and will do everything they can to keep people in their site as long as it is humanly possible. While RUclipsrs stopped being "just random dudes and girls sharing their random moments" and became more corporate, and the new "Hype" thing how you can give small creators boost to be seen doesn't help it at all, oh boy I can't wait to hear people asking beside of likes and subscribes to give the video a "hype". But to be honest it is also a good reality check (at least for me) and like you said, that the life doesn't exist around the internet. Corona apparently took peoples "the art of going outside or doing something what humans are actually meant to do". Anyway good video, remember to stay hydrated and sleep well.
Very informative and good video that has better takes than most big creators. I reckon I spend way too much time on this platform and I am a premium user which makes it worse, I think without ads you kinda lose your incentive to have a break and move away from the platform and it ties you down even more as you are paying for it. I think it's a double edged sword imo, the more ads they place on the platform and try to profit more from it the less users will stick around and actually watch videos whilst, yes, those who are already addicted will find other means such as paying for premium which ties them down more as now they feel they have to use it as they are paying for it or adblocks which youtube is currently at war with and could later result in bans for users as technically it is against RUclips's ToS. But honestly as someone who is addicted to RUclips and wants to step away more, I have been a longtime premium member and watch 1000s of hours of RUclips/year this platform has only gone to shit with the rise of AI, Content farming, Susan (as much as she was a bitch) stepping away and the cost of hosting billions of videos going up more and more over the years as more and more people upload as well. Susan didn't step away for any other reason than being forced out due to costs skyrocketing whilst profits were stagnated, not rising or lowering, the whole job of this bigger asshat of a CEO is to lower cost, increase profits, you can't lower cost though without restricting user uploads so his whole idea is now revolving around the social media strategy mentioned in this video, get users addicted, force ads down their throat, track their every little move and get their bestie Google to destroy adblock on their products *cough* monopoly *cough cough*. That's capitalism for you folks. As other people have said, we need a new RUclips, this was even said before the new CEO took power, without competitors RUclips will only get worse and worse as they focus on increasing profits and their costs continously rise more and more with hosting, competitors will lower the cost and their profits but will force RUclips to change and actually focus on the consumer, not the corporation.
You went deeeeep.. I think another reason Susan left was her health problems. As you said, youtube was still crappy under her but a little bit better then it's now. R.I.P. Susan 🕯️ Oh yeah, and I'm also addicted to RUclips so I feel what you're saying. I started reading more and doing other stuff so it's slowly getting better but still...
If you're talking about stealing content like reuploading and so on then ok, good luck (even though I think it would be ridiculously hard), but making something inspired by a similar work is how we, humans, have always rolled. That's how we evolve haha
Check out my buddy SSJ Lang's cinematic series for some more immersive and high effort gameplay videos, which can also be your gateway into the showcase community. I tried making something similar too, but I got discouraged because of the ethical issue of creating content for a platform that manipulates people. Our community has developed a pretty severe clickbait problem recently, which was incubated in Arkham channels and then spread to the rest of us, so you may want to clean up the titles with DeArrow as you explore. Some useful tags we've established include: Stealth Reaper: Eliminate every enemy without being detected Chaos Reaper: Eliminate every enemy as stylishly as possible Ghost: Do not be detected or eliminate a single enemy No Damage: Self-explanatory, primarily applies to combat-only games Improv: Non-choregraphed videos with mistakes left intentionally included Movement/Parkour/Traversal/Web Swinging: Self-explanatory, non-confrontational gameplay
Wow.. Seriously YT.. Ok you won.. I seriously just can't voice my opinion here, even when not treading on your precious community guidelines... Ima give up now... I will say this. This is what censorship looks like.. You don't want an opinion voiced. it will just disappear...
"RUclips Communities" feel like a revival of "RUclips Groups" but with much more functionality and more Social Media Based, But it should be Better if they Added Forums Back.

People who have been canceled as well as a filter for the commentary style videos. To me, they seem to create anxiety, trauma and depression rather than educate Others. Also, Sniperwolf, Mr.Beast, and JamesCharles are still active and succeeding despite the problematic crap they did; RUclips did nothing with their channels. Those are just a few examples, as there are a lot of them.
I think there is a very thin line between filtering and censorship. Censorship is a double-edged sword, bad for everyone. People knowing someone has done some evil shit, should decide if they want to abandon this creator or not. When something clearly violates (fair) TOS they should be banned or demonetized. But they will never ban their golden boy Jimmy - no way. Just like they never banned the Paul brothers or other scammers.
Me: Consistently clicking away the shorts bar on my suggestions page... RUclips: "Got it, we will show you them again in 3 weeks" For a company that gathers my data... Get it through to your F-in skull that I'm NOT INTERESTED in SHORTS.. Make that a data point and never F-in bother me with them again, please!!!!! Same goes for commercial video rental... GO AWAY! Communities are fun sometimes... I've always stayed far from Twitter, but on YT there are actually fun communities that aren't toxic.. Some Autist/Autism channels come to mind... where people are actually really cool to talk to sometimes... Some gaming communities are fun.. And some content creators use the community system to actually organize live events on their channel... It can be a great tool.
Yeah, but we already have "Posts" where you can announce stuff, make polls etc. People can comment there. It would be fine if we were allowed to turn "Communities" off for some channels, but now you're forced to see them and that's the main issue.
Now RUclips has games it's like they're trying to be newgrounds but a shit version. you also got another alternative to RUclips called Odysee. Odysse did something what RUclips would never do the Thanos snapped the ads on their platform
I'm also having a hard time finding something to watch recently. In cases like this I search for something by the OG's that I haven't seen yet or give up haha
Talking about RUclipsrs becoming CEOs and having a whole team: over the years it's like the word "You" in RUclips lost its meaning, like... It's supposed to be videos that *you* want to make, that *you* are passionate about... Not some corporate slop from a massive team. Don't get me wrong I am sure that it's great that they have a team that make high budget content, but eh idk If you want that type of content... just make a film and not just some "Beastificated slop" idk?!
great video i agree im sick of these mr beast clones im sick of these youtbe buissnes men i got no problem with that what makes me pissed of is the gaslighting and falce information and the worst is cancel culture for mw because they dont give a shit about smal and medium creators like us they always glaze and protect the big scamy youtubers
They don't bother me that much. Easily skippable, filtered by creators (not everyone ofc) and directly supporting them. But it's cool this community exists 👌🏻
Lol tried to comment something.. It got slammed with the censor hammer.. There wasn't actually anything in there that was in violation with community guidelines... So yes... This exactly Ima try it in pieces now...
Even silence is better then censored words, much like even a black screen is better than random gameplay going in the background to pad the lazy edit in a commentary video, that lacks visuals. Wink wink.
@@___AVARICE___ To me it's lazy effort. Like, what is the relevance between Super Hot and the subject matter being discussed? Zero. He's complaining about tricks that fool the viewer and take advantage of their monkey brains, but this is the same thing. At least the guy is self-aware and self-critical. Better to hear smart things being said over a low effort video, than to have neither information, nor visuals. But I still nitpick, because it's a clip about youtube getting worse that illustrates one of the reasons for it.
I agree 😁 but like the message in the beginning said - it would take me a month to make a "well edited" version of this video. Unfortunately, I don't have that much time to do YT, and it takes a lot of time if you do everything by yourself. I also can't afford an editor. This video, just like you said, is a rant - not a documentary. The idea was to share my thoughts about an ongoing topic, so uploading the video one month later wouldn't really make sense, right? Also, the biggest commentary channels on this platform have even simpler editing - talking face mixed with maybe 3 screenshots. So maybe mine wasn't so bad afterall 😉
@@notepadGM Don't take offense. I'm just finding something to nitpick, while agreeing with what you are saying verbally 100%. Most videos where I see game footage in the background I skip, but yours I played all the way through. And I'm a youtuber myself. I have a rule about never spending more than 24 hours on any single clip, because my own taste and algorithmic luck never match expectations. I've got half a mil views on a clip I made as a joke and put zero effort in it, while ones I thought would be the best thing in the world barely got out of double digit views. I spent something like a week on one clip, that was all for nothing and after that I put as much effort as you do into content. Plus I'm an AI user, so one can nitpick the hell out of me as well, and I'll be equally guilty. Once again, don't mind me. I'm just arguing for the sake of the argument. You are self-aware, so you get it all yourself.
I don't think RUclips employ youtubers. They are self-employed, they have their own businesses. Minimum wage applies to those hired on contracts I believe. Maybe it's different in my country though.
It's just a joke... Internet standards are very different from real life standards and I prefer to live in the real world. If you take a joke about bad, underdeveloped AI as mocking people with disabilities, I don't know what to tell you... Words are not evil, but they can be used for evil and that's a HUGE difference.
I think you should work on your script, and get straight to the point. I found the video a bit hard to stay engaged in but great points and. I wish you good luck 👍🏻

If I'm going on Twitter, it means I'm specifically looking for more engagement with people on content (despite how terrible communication is on that site.)
If I wanna see news.. I read the news
If I wanted to destroy my brain I go on TikTok
Blending all of this into one makes it so I have to deal with all of this when all I wanted was to watch videos.

@@notepadGM yeah it's really weird. it's the same issue that a person responding said. A weird memory leak that consumes all my ram.
Trust me man AI videos are hardly competition, most people see AI videos as nothing more than slop
if you dont make youtube money youre worthless to them
dont worry, im on your side
I had Markiplier on mind when I talked about the synergy 👀 it's a preference, I guess.

1:44 I'm with you. "Heck" isn't that bad, but I give most creators something like 3 strikes to not censor inane bullshit before I just click off.
First 8 (or 30 idk) seconds has to be clean if you want the video to be monetized, so maybe start counting after that haha 😅
@@notepadGMThen why they don't do it
@@cevatkokbudak6414 Because that doesn't always work. The 30 second rule is just kind of a myth. Nobody knows for sure that it's true. What we do know is that smaller channels can get strikes for saying "hell," but so long as you're larger and making YT lota of ad money, you can film in a sui¢ide forest like Logan Paul for all they care.

A couple of comments (intended as contribution rather than anything explicitly negative):
The issue you mentioned about "family friendly content" can be traced directly back to the Apple app store's terms and conditions (which Google also subsequently adopted most of).
There could be more reasons behind some of those choices, and I wanted to include them, but the video would be an hour long one so I focused mainly on the problems not the reasons 😅
The subtitles can be added for accessibility, but I think most of them are there because they are attention grabbers - just like Subway Surfers footage.
Anyway, thanks for watching and leaving an insightful comment ♥️
does anyone ever remember about captions feature? it was implemented for a reason lol
Jack of all trades, master of none

The way the community post tab is for phone users only. Desktop/laptop users don't even have this tab. I just need to randomly by chance get people's community posts in-between the sea of video and advertisements on my home page. I always see them way too late as well. Like at least one or two days. What's the point???
I only use subscriptions page so it's more obnoxious for me I guess
7:26 Wait you didn't know that? Comment dislikes have been meaningless for over a decade, the only thing they seem like they might affect is the order in which comments are shown when you sort by "Top Comments".

My channel is an another perfect example of why RUclips downfall is occurring. Although I am not automating, I am using ai generated scripts and images to assist in my videos, this is easy to make and is great for people like me who are very busy. I’m not supporting myself or hating on these kinds of shorts, but I think this might be another reason for this situation.

Thanks for watching and commenting. Maybe I'm not crazy afterall haha

On top of all that, they do nothing about cancel culture and everyone who gets exposed.
Should they do something with cancel culture or with people that have been canceled?
RUclips: "Got it, we will show you them again in 3 weeks"
For a company that gathers my data...
@@notepadGM Yeah, YT is trying to shove everything down your throat without your consent.. There is a word for that.. 🤣
algorithim yiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
yeah
Vimeo & Rumble are always available.
I don’t think so, vimeo is more like for professionals.
Now RUclips has games it's like they're trying to be newgrounds but a shit version. you also got another alternative to RUclips called Odysee. Odysse did something what RUclips would never do the Thanos snapped the ads on their platform
But creators won't go to platforms that don't pay. Unless they post both on yt and the other
I find everything on RUclips boring now. I can't seem to watch a full video and enjoy It. And it is not watching too many shorts...
I'm also having a hard time finding something to watch recently. In cases like this I search for something by the OG's that I haven't seen yet or give up haha
Talking about RUclipsrs becoming CEOs and having a whole team:
over the years it's like the word "You" in RUclips lost its meaning, like... It's supposed to be videos that *you* want to make, that *you* are passionate about... Not some corporate slop from a massive team. Don't get me wrong I am sure that it's great that they have a team that make high budget content, but eh idk
If you want that type of content... just make a film and not just some "Beastificated slop" idk?!
It's AdTube now
@@notepadGM BeasTube 💀

With all that AI things they are further encouraging content farms...
great video i agree im sick of these mr beast clones im sick of these youtbe buissnes men i got no problem with that what makes me pissed of is the gaslighting and falce information and the worst is cancel culture for mw because they dont give a shit about smal and medium creators like us they always glaze and protect the big scamy youtubers
we allready reached peak youtube years ago.
maybe a decade
What comes up must come down
Yep, 2012-2014 was peak imo
I thought it was 2005-2009 RUclips.
Sponsorblock has a community that finds videos and skips the sponsor part of the video where they talk about Opera GX or something.
They don't bother me that much. Easily skippable, filtered by creators (not everyone ofc) and directly supporting them. But it's cool this community exists 👌🏻
@@notepadGMi know right
Do you think RUclips has a team thinking of ways to make the site shit or does it just happen on accident?
I think people who knew the answer are dead now...
Majority of Gen Z are Dead Then
This here is a great explanation to why many people moved over to the A l t e r n a t i v e s because of all of this.
I really wanted to hear your views...but those mindless repetitive gaming graphics killed my focus.
I completely agree.
Lol tried to comment something.. It got slammed with the censor hammer.. There wasn't actually anything in there that was in violation with community guidelines... So yes... This exactly
Ima try it in pieces now...
Seriously? That sucks ass man :/
Why is RUclips's video starring some lisping..... Never mind
Even silence is better then censored words, much like even a black screen is better than random gameplay going in the background to pad the lazy edit in a commentary video, that lacks visuals. Wink wink.
Nah a black screen would be terrible, video games in the background is fine
Holy shit i expected something bad from yt but with this i might do a vid complaining aswell Dx
nice rant tho
Go for it - spread the word.
Bro i keep getting peppa pig episodes when i try to listen to a video in the shower, and its dead ass a whole episode ☠️
You got me giggling 😁
11:49 and by the way hawk tuahs😂😂😂
Write those two words again and I'll ban the shit out of you 💀
Does ever do anything Legal, Under Minimum Wage, Yeah The YPP is Illegal.
I don't think RUclips employ youtubers. They are self-employed, they have their own businesses. Minimum wage applies to those hired on contracts I believe. Maybe it's different in my country though.
@@notepadGM Technically Tubers Employed by both self and , Case in Point The YPP, pays Tubers, sure it's slave wages, but it's pay.

😂
AI making videos for other AI to comment on.
At this point I'm more mad at advertisers for falling for it.

Yeah, it was partially scripted and partially improvised, so maybe that's why. Or maybe cuz English is not my first language. Either way, thanks! Constructive criticism always appreciated 👍🏻
THATS NOT CRAZY TO SAY AT ALL, MY CONSER THATS GETS ME SO SAD IS THE RECOMMANDATION BRO I LITTERALY HAVE TO SEARCH FOR ONE HOUR TO FIND A GOOD VIDEO TO WATCH, I ALREADY SEEN EVERY SINGLE VIDEO I ALREADY SEARCHED FOR I CANT FIND GOOD CONTENT AND WHEN I FIND A NEW VIDEO ITS JUST A 10 VIEWS VIDEO WITH THE MOST BORING SHI EVER BRO LIKE
Maybe try searching without caps lock on 💀 No but fr, I have every recommendation and personalization option turned off and have only the Subscriptions tab.
