  • Was looking forward to getting these in for a few months, so this is just my initial thoughts and notes on the condition and quality of these books fresh out of the mailbox (or bookstore for the Barnes and nobles classics.) The Easton press ones are pretty well made, and they'll likely get their own reviews later since they're hard to find online.

      Thank you for the support. I've received a few more books recently (3 Easton press ones), so I'll do a look into them soon. More were ordered, along with some from the folio society.

    I collect Easton Press books and I enjoy them but I would highly recommend the Folio Society. Folio most always provides plenty of high quality illustrations and and they even provide original illustrations for a lot of their fiction. They have 2 sales every year (summer and New Year.)
    Nice video!

    hello im a new subscriber, I love your videos , library and your books esp the Easton press , are they difficult to handle (especially the chunky ones) and read while lying down?

    • @svenrolic
      @svenrolic  3 года назад

      They're a bit unwieldy for reading in bed, yeah. The leather and such makes them a bit heavier/stiff than others. They're easier read at a desk.

    They’re most likely chipboard (or “book board”) covered in leather. Chipboard is cardboard but really high end; Think something in between cardboard and MDF.

    Get some rest, make a cup of coffee, walk the dog and keep it out and, for goodness sake, never ever drop the books.

      The dog. In spite of being cynical, I meant well. As a dog owner and books collector--much B&N and FS--I cannot watch people dropping their talked about books to the floor absent mindedly; I find this humiliating and hypocritical. The dog was seeking attention obviously, and his nails scratching the floor is audibly distracting. Otherwise, keep it up.

    • @svenrolic
      @svenrolic  7 месяцев назад +1

      @LAVIV007 Ah I've addressed this before. The books are books. Their purpose is to hold knowledge. While its nice to have books in good shape, a drop won't bother me. The dogs are part of my life and will remain allowed to enter and exit spaces I'm in as they please. I understand your concern, but we do not share this concern.

    • @LAVIV007
      @LAVIV007 7 месяцев назад +1

      Obviously, it is your choice. I do not argue, just pointing out whatever disturbed me while watching the video/s. Sure, we don't have to agree here. Each to his own. Enjoy them both.
