  • Sean seems like a kind man. He remembers the day he became homeless. For nineteen months, Sean has been sleeping rough homeless in Center London. Sean's first day homeless was shortly after his wife and child died.
    Trauma like Sean's experience can be devastating, resulting in a person losing everything and ending up homeless. Once on the streets, the trauma of homelessness and having to fight to survive creates a vicious cycle, making it even harder for a person to get out of homelessness. Added to that, available services, especially housing, are lacking.
    Sean shares that a day sleeping rough is mostly walking. He says the public often thinks all they do is beg for money, but it's not like that. Sean continues how people spit on him and kick him.
    London is now mostly cashless, which makes it harder for rough sleepers we are panhandling. We do not support begging for money, but as we share in this short animation about giving money to homeless people, often they don't have a choice but to beg for change • The Truth About Giving...
    Sean ends this interview by saying: "I don't want the world. I just want to be happy."
    In the United Kingdom, as it is in America, it's up to all of us to change policies to solve homelessness. Please contact your legislators today.

    About Invisible People
    There is a direct correlation between what the general public perceives about homelessness and how it affects policy change. Most people blame homelessness on the person experiencing it instead of the increasing shortage of affordable housing, lack of employment, childhood trauma, lack of a living wage, or the countless reasons that put a person at risk. This lack of understanding creates a dangerous cycle of misperception that leads to the inability to effectively address the root causes of homelessness.
    We imagine a world where everyone has a place to call home. Each day, we work to fight homelessness by giving it a face while educating individuals about the systemic issues that contribute to its existence. Through storytelling, education, news, and activism, we are changing the narrative on homelessness.
    This isn’t just talk. Our groundbreaking educational content reaches millions of people every month. Our real and unfiltered stories of homelessness shatter stereotypes, demand attention and deliver a call-to-action that is being answered by governments, major brands, nonprofit organizations, and everyday citizens just like you.
    However, there is more work to be done on the road ahead. Homelessness is undoubtedly one of our biggest societal issues today and will only continue to grow if we don’t take action now.
    Invisible People is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to educating the public about homelessness through innovative storytelling, news, and advocacy. Since our launch in 2008, Invisible People has become a pioneer and trusted resource for inspiring action and raising awareness in support of advocacy, policy change and thoughtful dialogue around poverty in North America and the United Kingdom.

    Poor soul. Lost his way after a traumatic tragic loss. What’s wrong with the world/our governments, when we cannot help those in distress who have lost their way - to get back on their feet. God please help him. Please ignite compassion back into the hearts of us all to help each other again. To be a community again. This could happen to anyone in tragic circumstances.

Regardless, your interrogation of this man’s story about his wife and child is a mute point to this channel. Means nothing and lacks compassion and off topic to the point I made. This RUclips Channel; Invisible people; objective is in interviewing homeless people to ‘bring awareness to their inhumane plight and unbearable inhumane living conditions no human should endure in a wealthy humane society. Bringing awareness to this growing homeless epidemic and the cruel suffering and safety issues inflicted. To advocate for humane affordable housing, upholding citizens basic human rights of accessibility to a roof for essential survival and safety in a rich nation; - which helps the homeless get back on their feet again. Restoring a humane society once again who looks after its most disadvantaged as a priority. We pray. As by the grace of God go you and I.

    I was just in London from the us for awhile for surgery. My mom and i talked to a lot of homeless people. Some even couldn't believe i was speaking to them and treated them as equal. They are basically completely ignored by society except for food. My heart goes out to all homeless/rough sleepers. I wish i could have done more. It's truly heartbreaking. I'll never forget the faces of the people i did speak to and i send my love. Life is rough and small acts of kindness or charity do help in small ways. Honestly just wish i could help more. It's a problem at home where i live as well but this was my first visit to a super city and there are over 10,000 rough sleepers in london. Change needs to happen. Pages like invisible people are important and I'm grateful for your help and bringing awareness to the homeless. Been following for a long time. We are all truly just a couple paychecks or tragedy away from homelessness.

    Hello Sean, I empathise with you so very much although I didn't lose both together but 4 years apart. My 15 year old daughter died in 93 and then my partner Muriel in 1997 both buried in the very same grave in Hambleton Yorkshire. You'll already know it's BEYOND tough and I won't lie it takes a long LONG time to come to terms with but if you can find some sort of stability and get thru this awful homelessness then you can start to work on getting thru this huge trauma. I was born in London myself, a light year ago but I send you the warmth of my heart and wishing that you find that stability with somewhere to live so that you can start to rebuild your life. It's not easy, it will take a long time but there will come a time where tears of today might become happy reflections of yesterday. Blessings

    The Cash thing is exactly true. Was in London last week and there is no cash to be found anywhere and some vendors/services explicitly don‘t accept it as payment. How do people expect homelessness to end when prices are rising constantly and you can’t even give these people a few pence/pounds to buy some food.

    • @ItApproaches
      @ItApproaches 7 месяцев назад

      Well Britain among other places is rolling out a digital only currency to replace actual money thanks to the WEF. It's always amazing when people don't pay attention then are surprised when they get fucked over. They say how did this happen? They can't do this? Well they did, and anyone who actually see's what's going on gets called crazy or a conspiracy theorist. People don't want truth unless it benefits them, so they prefer the blissful ignorance of their own personal egoic glass bubble.

    • @ItApproaches
      @ItApproaches 7 месяцев назад

      That's the result of the way human society is. Want it to change? Gotta destroy the entire current society system that humans operate off of. But that would mean for a few generations people would be suffering and flying blind as a new system was built and put into effect, and nobody wants to sacrifice for that. Greed, ego, fear, entitlement so on. People don't want to give up having luxuries and smartphones that spy on you and harvest your data, or fast food or smoking or alcohol or expensive cars and clothing, and travelling the world on pointless vacations or overpaying for food at a restaurant, humans are conditioned to seek out external shit to attach to because they believe they have no value without that junk. Could you give up TV, movies, the internet, and go back to cavemen days (mostly, as we would live like cavemen but not actually be cavemen), 99% of humans would NOT. And that's the only thing in the way. Humans, in their own damn way as usual.

    Wife & I went through it twice... The only difference between the people in the streets and those who are not is a place to live & a job they can do. Many homeless have been through a greater Traumatic event than most could even imagine. A sample of this was one young woman we knew went homeless after she was literally captured, dragged to a wilderness cave in Montana and analy raped with a shot gun multiple times for days. What do scoffers always spit in this person's face? Just get a job! You're lazy etc Never pausing to find out the reality. Yes there are also discusting people out there who are simply really wrong... You cannot understand all this unless you've spent years around it being homeless gives you great insight. Our journey was terrible but taught us so much you cannot learn any other way. Jesus is LORD!
    Prayers for all who are suffering this trial...

      @@marcK599.The homeless with drug and alcohol problems are a minority. Media just feeds you bullshit to make you believe that. It's like 15% of the homeless have substance issues. As for mental illness, no such thing. Everyone's mind is exactly as Fate made it to be. We aren't carbon copies of one being. No two minds are the same, like a snow flake. Some minds are more similar to our own and we call that "normal", some drift further off, we call those "eccentrics" then there is those who drift way far off from your mind, we call them "crazy" or "psychopaths" yet ironically you can't see that your mind is drastically different then theirs, so to them, they could claim you as the crazy one or the psychopath lol.

    Thats absolutely heartbreaking. How can we not understand, all through the world, enough to legislate and enact, that we have to support people through tragedies like this. It can't be left to employers, or some private institution the person pays for, it should be provided for anyone who goes through something so tragic, by the government. Thats where we want our tax dollars, is preventing abject sorrow, it's caustic to everyone's souls.

      Probably there are more than 2 million such people in Russia and the Kremlin sends them to the front. As well as Kiev.
      Probably now there is no country in the world where it is easy for people. Here a person has something sick, even in the most "prosperous and rich country" (USA, EU, etc.), he comes to the pharmacy, there are mountains of different medicines, useless and maybe harmful, but there are no normal painkillers or according to a strict prescription. The pharmacist does not have the right to sell you painkillers without a special prescription, he has strict accounting and control, like a weapon. What can I say then about poorer countries, it looks like the torture of the medieval Inquisition, people accept a more torturous death than criminals sentenced to death. Moreover, about 90% of the population (except for the elected ones - kings, cardinals, presidents, oligarchs, popes, etc., who live in another dimension and die not lying down, but "without going down to breakfast in the morning") do they accept such a torture cm execution?

      Sigh...you can't fix problems with legislation lol. That's just a damn piece of paper. It has ZERO effect on reality. You think all the homework you handed did and handed in back in school actually effected ANYTHING? Nope.

    Why churches and missionaries are not taking care of these destitutes? What about charitable organisations? In India , some temples take care of their food and shelter. Like Varanasi , Madhura, Brindavan , thousands of widows are provided shelter and food. And hundreds of NGO s are taking care of these people.

    There are many such people even in "prosperous" countries, then what can I say about the poor and Russia?
Moreover, about 90% of the population (except for the elected ones - kings, cardinals, presidents, oligarchs, popes, etc., who live in another dimension and die not lying down, but "without going down to breakfast in the morning") such a torture penalty is accepted. Probably many people know how Georg 5 died (1g of morphine + 1g of cocaine)
    And how are ordinary people punished for this in "prosperous" countries, and even more so in poorer ones, or is it not so?
    And the second question. One person who has lived in India for 5 years told me that the townspeople are fooling the villagers. How so, I ask, and he: - "Well, judge for yourself, in the village they do everything that a person cannot live without - bread, milk, fruits, vegetables. eggs, different meat, etc. and so on. Even many raw materials for medicines, including scarce painkillers. And in the city what? Various rubbish that you can easily do without, and even harmful dangerous things that bring grief to everyone- the most diverse weapons, from the simplest to weapons of mass destruction. In order for a citizen to be able only to relieve himself, he needs to pump spring water from a spring source for a distance of several kilometers, and then pump it out for several kilometers."Is he right or not, who thinks what?
