This is my Jovoy Incident Diplomatique Review, Incident Diplomatique by Jovoy Review. Jovoy is a house that I love. It's a niche house from Paris, France run by Francois Henin who also owns one of the best perfume shops in the world. It's a niche perfume lover's dream come true shop for a visit to Paris. So if you are visiting Paris you must visit Jovoy. Although there are other locations now as well. But I discovered Jovoy thanks to my meeting with Francois Henin at the Jovoy boutique 4 years ago. It was here at Jovoy boutique that he introduced me to the fragrances of the house of Jovoy. I fell in love with Private Label and Psychedelique and I own those two now. I also love Jovoy because the fragrances that I own are some of the most potent and long-lasting fragrances. I sampled Incident Diplomatique in Esxence in Milan earlier this year and didn't think twice about it but luckily I received a bottle for this review and my mind changed quickly. It is mostly a vetiver scent and utilizes Haitian vetiver and Java vetiver but it also has beautiful patchouli. And the vetivers and the patchouli work so well here I absolutely love it.

I got this for Christmas and I simply adore it. Along with Tom Ford's Tuscan Leather it's now one of my favourites. Also, contrary to a number of reviews, women CAN wear it!
Just bought touché finale and incident dimplomatique right now on oligarch... bought this one because of your recommendation yet not a huge fan of the notes, especially vetiver (too dank) but am excited anyway from your hype.
But bought touché finale because that note breakdown is exactly what I look for in a fragrance.

Hi. I purchased this fragrance as a blind buy based on your review and could not be happier. This is a wonderful fragrance. Perfect for the Winter. I love it. I'm not a big fan of Vetiver note but you made me all head over heals for this one.
Also, Patchouli is one favourite note of mine.

WOW!!! Few months back for the very first time I got hands on Jovoy perfume "Private Label" & I found it's Awesome...the quality & performance. Yes, Sebastian Jara you are right Jovoy perfumes are extra extra quality, & extra potent. Me too lover of earthy vetiver, patchouli fragrances, so Jovoy Incident Diplomatique notes are right up my alley.
In early July I ordered 16 samples from luckyscent, and among the extras they added to my order was a sample of Jovoy Incident Diplomatique. By coincidence I was actually admiring the scent on the back of my hand this morning when this review came out! I fully agree that it is a beautiful take on vetiver and patchouli. This is not a complex fragrance, but rather a high quality, expertly blended, and classy scent. I cannot determine sillage and projection from a small dauber vial, but what I have applied seems to be projecting nicely from my skin. The dry down is beautiful. Very nice and timely review, Sebastian, and I enjoyed the luxury of being able to follow along with your note description while sampling the fragrance.

Back in my younger days, my friends and I used to crash Les Receptions Diplomatiques but we didn't cause any Incident Diplomatique!
What’s your results on projection and longevity on this? I just ordered the sample and am waiting for the right day to try it but I did happen to use a small dab on my inner forearm and absolutely fell in love and couldn’t have described it any better than you have.
This is definitly my best vetiver fragrance classy, manly, well blended, boozy vetiver. Really dont know why the jovoy line dont get talked about alot of gems in the line

After such a review I would love to try this as I also love Vetiver and am contemplating my next one as am all out. So far I love Dior collection Privé but its been discontinued so this might be the one! Also am very fond of the other notes

Sounds really good. I don't always love vetiver but I do enjoy patchouli and nutmeg. The only thing I smelled from the House is a Private Label which I found to be a big, bold, and powerful fragrance.

Sebastian, can this fragrance go suit and tie for client meetings? I have a sample, and oh boy, it's not to be ignored.
I own Les Jeux sont Faits and L`Art de la Guerre and have sampled quite a few. I really cant find any I do not like! lol Such an underrated house IMO. ID I recently sampled through a comp sample from Luckyscent. I was totally blown away by it. Its on my to buy list. Only reason it's not purchased yet is it's still pretty sweltering hot here in GA!! lol This is more for the colder months. Maybe I'll get lucky and win!!! Considering I didnt hit the Powerball, Im thinking that is the least I can wish for!!!! lol

Sebastian, maybe it is a good idea to make some kind of guide for perfume lovers, where to go if you are visiting Paris, Berlin, London, NY or Frisco. Something like top 10 places you must visit if you are perfume lover. What do you think?
I would love to do one for Paris and it's a given to do one for San Francisco. I had one for SF but will have to update it! :)
Just got a sample of this. The vetiver and patchouli are the dominant notes to my nose and it smells a lot like something an older man would wear. I'm guessing the person who complimented you is an older gentlemen? I don't think people in my age group of 20s - 30s will appreciate this. At the very least, I can't. This is a fragrance that people should try and not blind buy.

Sebastian, I'm really hesitant to get a fragrance revolving aroud patchouli. Somehow the note reminds me of hippies of the 60s and I'm not a fan. Does this fragrance have that kind of patchouli vibe?

Always good to be the first one on an awesomely amazing fragrance but the community is not into fragrances like this. They like their Creeds, YSL's and so on. You can see from the views I have received on this video that this is not something the community likes or knows about or cares to learn about. But if I put out a new Creed review like I will today they will go gaga over it! Go figure. But always great to be the first to put out a review for an amazing scent like Indecent Diplomatique! :)
they should sell in dubai and abu dhabi duty free. they would see their sales go through the roof. they are a bit hard to find, unless you go to paris often.
No kidding, but I was just thinking yesterday of testing out Jovoy this weekend. I tried a few of them last year but I guess my newbie nose was not quite ready for them and I can't even remember which ones I have tested. I am planning to test Private Label, Psychedelique, L'arb de Connaisance and Les Joux Sont Faits. Will now include Incident Diplomatique to the list as I do love Vetiver with Grey Vetiver and Encre Noir as some of my favourites. I'll see how much my appreciation of fragrances has evolved in a year's time.

Managed to try Jovoy today but unfortunately Incident Diplomatique was not available. One that gave me the best initial impression is the Fig-based Connaisance (just got a bottle of Vetiver Fatal the other day and they are quite similar to my nose. Do you agree?). Enfant Terrible and la Guerre also seems nice. What Jovoys will you recommend for hot and humid weather but considering that it will be worn mostly in an airconditioned workplace?

Tested this a few days ago , it is more close to psychedlique than to private label. enjoyed it , really good fragrance. What would be your choice Sebastian if you had to only select between Psychedelique ,Private Label and Incident Diplomatique ?

This is very masculine but women can totally pull it off. I think you will enjoy it! :)
I'm a woman and I've read people saying that this is totally masculine... I'm new to the fragrance word, I ordered some samples and a discovery set from another houses and I won a little sample of Incident Diplomatique and it was the first one that I tried from all the samples and to my (inexperienced) nose, what I really smell is coffee, I just don't know why, I looked at the notes and there is no coffee there! I liked it, I'm gonna keep testing it till the sample is gone.
It's on the masculine side yes but confident women should be able to pull it off don't let is scare you. Get samples and test! :)

little help needed pls. i ordered a decant of this after being impressed by ur description - now heres the thing. i hadnt worn any scent for a couple of days and this morning i sprayed this 1 . it was 2 sprays on neck. didnt go out just indoors. now ive used clones and fakes before so i kno this is not 1 of those coz i cd sense the xcellent quality wen sprayed.
but heres the concern.
i dont seem to be getting the kind of projection or timely whiffs coming off my body as i wd expect from a strong juice . its just too faint. so cd it still sumhow be the result of nose numbness ? or wat cd it be ? any thots ??
I'm concerned if it's a decant and it's breathed too much air or seen too much air might have lost it's power a bit! :(

Sebastian , would you happen to know of any reformulations recently with ID and Psychedelique sir ? I got Private label ID and Psychedelique in recently and some how the two out of the three I purchased seem to be super weak. The Private label is definitely beast mode on me. Im wondering if it needs to just macerate . Both the ID and Psychedelique are 20 batch codes and Private label is a 17 batch code. Any thoughts sir? I had a small decant of I.D. and that runs circles around the juice from the bottle.
I personally think this is a maceration issue. But that’s just me. 😀

Depends on which Creed Vetiver you are referring to! Original Vetiver is not really a vetiver to me.

Hi Sebastian, I've been watching a lot of your reviews and enjoyed them! I love Patchouli, like vetiver and Mandarin. The mix of nutmeg sounds interesting. Really wish Jovoy were available on Notino or Fragrancenet. I wanted to try the ones you mentioned on Beast mode, too. Looked them up. Just not so widely available on US bound. Xerjoff, Olfattivo, and Tenenzia are.
