I'm totally biased. See, I happen to LOVE THIS SCENT !!! I haven't the inherent ability to immediately identify a TRUE CLASSIC. Yet I was fortunate enough to have initially bought this scent WITHOUT having ever worn it before! I'm so Thankful it happened like that. Off the test strips I found it Intriguing but nothing like the Majesty of the wearing experience!!! Cecile Zoroakean* is a BOSS among perfumers ! I love her work. Thank You for this timely review, Sebastian. When ranking the10 favorite Jovoy's w Dahlia I'd hoped this would've ranked higher. But alas, scent IS subjective. I'm at the stage now, where I recognize that to disagree with my personal preference is NOT necessarily an attack on my particular tastes... Lol, there was a moment when I found myself "offended" when others opinions varied on a scent I was particularly fond on... Can you imagine??? Fortunately, we all grow, our tastes change and develop. Hopefully experience will only deepen our appreciation for fine perfumery and the craftsmanship involved in it's creation. The first one I bought was Rouge Assassin, and then Sans in Mot, Touché Finale - I love those - the brand is classy and standing out. Each fragrance is a subtlety of feelings in a bottle - those feelings are special.

I discovered Jovoy and Jeroboam two years ago, this my favourite fragrance house now. I use Private Label, Psychedelique, Pavillon Rouge, Touche Finale , Ambra and Vespero. My girlfriend uses Miksado and Oriento. These are quality fragrances and meet my criteria of; longevity and uniqueness .

I love this one but L'Art de la Guerre is my favorite from this house. Their entire collection is delightful. Private Label reminds me a little of Montecristo from Masque Milano.
@@johnkennedy9078 It's a beautiful green fougere. In my opinion, it is decisively masculine. Kind of a cross between Fougere Royale from Houbigant and Hemingway from Masque Milano - both very solid, pleasant fougeres. Quality oozes from every Jovoy fragrance - expensive but worth it.

hmmm a beautiful strong masculine fragrance... by any chance does anybody know if this smells somewhere along the vein of Monsieur by Pierre Guillaume, very masculine edp that shares some notes and includes poplar .... anybody?
I can see that but this is much more extreme. Plus the Lalique does not have patchouli like this has and the Lalique doesn't have any papyrus so it's unique but in the same ballpark! :)

Its a nice scent but Valentino Noir Absolu Oud Essence ripped it off. Very similar scent profile and note borrowing.
What is the difference between this one and the Diplomatic one?

Incident especially if you are a novice with Patchouli! But both fragz are about Patchouli with ID being a combo of Vetiver and Patchouli! :)
