  • I have over 200 NES games and I do not have a lot of room to display them. I had stacked them all on top of each other forever, but it's such a pain to display games this way. This cheap DIY solution has now allowed me to display my games on their side, and now the shelf is so much more functional!

I did something similar with that material. I built a mini shelf to store my small NES, SNES, and N64 cartridges. It's pretty flimsy, but it's tucked into a real shelf, and as long as you remove only 1 or 2 games at a time it holds pretty well. Great video!

Excellent! Yes definitely need to make sure you don't take out 10 carts at once 😅
      Thanks for watching!

In the future, when using the box cutter, I recommend drawing a line and scoring the area, rather than just jamming the blade all the way into the board. You’ll have a lot more control over the cut and it’ll look a lot cleaner.
If you use a ruler or a yardstick or something, it’ll also help keep the line straight.

Really enjoy this setup. Was wondering though if you are anti Tengen carts? I understand if not, but some great classics in that line as well

I have a few of them, but didn't necessarily seek them out. I do have Shinobi on NES. Obviously I'd love to have a Tengen Tetris some day too! When trying to get the even weight distribution on the shelves it was best for me to line them up all at the end there. Not strictly against, but mostly focusing on licensed games for now 🤠

Seems like a good temporary solution.

Thanks! It'll definitely do the job until I build a full sized custom shelf.

Is the quality any good though? It's probably hard to tell on video, but the ones I have are actually really sturdy.
