  • This is my video and tour of my game collection and how it came to look like this!
It´s trendy to say Its “Underconsumption Core” is probably to stretch it. But as a gamer, movie watcher, collector and to cram that in a small game room and try to buy used, make diy projects and mainly keep to the Essentials is more and more a thing I thrive after. I know essential and collector doesnt really fit together and it can always be better and have less.. but hope you catch my drift?
It´s the same with being minimalist. I dont see myself being that, but I am going for the clean and sharp look and still having a collection and showing who I am and what I enjoy. So in better words would probably be: simplified and less is more? Dont really know what to call it, but I do know culling down the collection and curated it for my tast is the best thing I have ever done for my game room and my soul.
I hope you enjoy and please drop a comment if you have any questions or you can relate to this.. Thanky you!

For me, a good collection is a collection that's played. If you have five games and play them, your collection is better than someone who has zillions of games but doesn't play any of them.

      @MrSkovdal  24 дня назад +1

Yeah that’s if your take the collector aspect out of this 😊
I big collection or just a collection can still be a great one.. played or not. You dont see a stamp collector mail hes stamps just because they are stamps 😉

Very nice job! Very aesthetic and clean! This is what I exactly have in mind for a gameroom. I don’t care a lot about a massive collection, just personal games and titles I enjoy playing personally and with family and friends.

One of the best collections I ever seen! Many People just fill their shelfs with tons of games they won't even ever play. This is why I prefer your collection. I like to have two collections. The first one is like yours where only the games you like are visible on a shelf. The second one is just for having a complete collection and can be stored in the basement or somewhere like that. Anyway, really nice gaming room!

Agree with all. Most hardware gonna die in 100 if not 50 years and the truth is that we are just collecting art in cardboard/plastic boxes for display. Mostly every game can be downloaded and played in order to not compromise the delicate hardware in it and we can just focus on things that we had or never had and enjoy.

Thank you so much! It as been a long process over a couple of years from the ideas in my head to planning, curling, renovation (of the room) and then the actual built of the shelf, so I really appreciate your kind words 🙏
My ideas almost match my final result, so I’m very happy with it! There are some other aspects of the game room that need some changes because the ideas didn't live up to the result, but that's for another video in the future 😅

I gotta say you did a great job with this video I really love video game collecting (not only because it’s fun) but also there’s a story to them!
Sometimes it can be awesome like how I got my copy of metal slug on sega Saturn!
And other times it can be weird creepy and disturbing like how I got my copy of the salamander deluxe pack plus on the sega Saturn!

Nothing about how and where I got the games. But that’s mainly because I can remember where i got most of them 😂
But it does sounds like you have some juicy stories interlaced with tour collection 😉

      @@MrSkovdal
So how I got the game metal slug on sega Saturn is very awesome!
So I usually start my day working with the trash walk where I get a bag and a shopping cart (also a broom and dust pan as well) so while I was cleaning up the cigarette bench there was a sketchy person in there he was changing his clothes (in public) so I had to let the people from lost prevention know what’s up!
And apparently this guy was stealing things (maybe clothes?) and the people from LP let me know that because I turned the sketchy guy in (after he stole things) I got $11 so I got the game metal slug!
As for how I got the game salamander
I was house sitting for my family as they went out to go see grandma and grandpa it started out fine I went and saw this weird movie called “kinds of kindness!”
And then (again I started the trash walk) where LP alerted me about some guy wearing his underwear (and nothing else)
And a few days later the family dog escaped (after I let him out in the backyard!)
Yeah it wasn’t fun at all!

This makes me not feel so bad about how poorly my collection is displayed. I have a glass door cabinet, with the top shelf dedicated to all my switch games, the shelf below is all the collectors edition packages and extras, even below that is my smaller collections( DS, 3DS, PS3/4/5) and beneath that anime DVDs. My small collection Of Neo Geo is packed away but I'm waiting on a new desk for my bedroom that is L shaped and it's going to have a portion dedicated to SNK with my 4:3 monitor and system setup at all times
