Thank you! 🙏 I enjoy watching those big collections on RUclips, but I could never live with it myself 🙃 We all collect differently and that’s the beauty of our hobby ♥️
@@MrSkovdal There is a fine line bewteen a game collector and a horader, and that's why I stop my self from start collecting, thanks for showing us how must be done.
Very nice job! Very aesthetic and clean! This is what I exactly have in mind for a gameroom. I don’t care a lot about a massive collection, just personal games and titles I enjoy playing personally and with family and friends. Great job!!
I love the look. It always feels nice when you see a small collection mostly because it actually holds a meaning. Every game in that collection means something to you (or the ip means something to you). That's how do my game room too
One of the best collections I ever seen! Many People just fill their shelfs with tons of games they won't even ever play. This is why I prefer your collection. I like to have two collections. The first one is like yours where only the games you like are visible on a shelf. The second one is just for having a complete collection and can be stored in the basement or somewhere like that. Anyway, really nice gaming room!
Good concept, that I have similarly applied. I recently also limited myself artificially in my own office. I now choose to collect only good first party (or close to) Nintendo titles in a large bookshelf and only on that one. I buy less but only boxed, except for the NES which is too expensive boxed and look nice loose, and non players choice games. For SFC N64 and GC + GB GBC GBA, I sold my PAL copies and moved to japanese boxed games, with a lot of pleasure, they look so nice and I made a nice check back from selling my PAL collection of those. I resold most of the loose copies I had and various games I had no connections to that I only collected for the sake of collecting, which I am now against. For Wii WiiU and Switch I have stayed with PAL (French) while the prices are still resonable. I cheated a bit by having my PS1/2/3 collection and my boxed collection of every console stored in my room at my parents house, but I do plan on doing the same thing with the SONY collection at some point once I finish Nintendo, adding just another bookshelf. I am contemplating selling most of my SEGA stuff that I accumulated over the years without any nostalgia for it as well, someone else would enjoy more than me the SEGA stuff I own.
Sounds like you've got a solid plan! It's great to see such a clear vision 😊 Organizing and even culling a collection can be incredibly satisfying! It all takes time.. slow and steady wins the race 😉 Would love to see your collection 🤩
Very nice presentation and games! I love your idea of customizing shelfes of the different sizes of games for your collection. The nice room colors, it all fits together naturally! Good job, and it sure is a lot of thinking, work and time to bring this together this nice.
Thank you so much! It as been a long process over a couple of years from the ideas in my head to planning, curling, renovation (of the room) and then the actual built of the shelf, so I really appreciate your kind words 🙏 My ideas almost match my final result, so I’m very happy with it! There are some other aspects of the game room that need some changes because the ideas didn't live up to the result, but that's for another video in the future 😅
I try to avoid collecting for the sake of collecting, but its very tempting. I am currently talking myself out of collecting wireless-mod retro controllers lol I have a N64 and a SNES wireless-modded controller, but im very tempted to purchase the mod kits for a NES and Gamecube controller as well even though I rarely emulate those systems. I just think they would look cool on display, but only so much space for decorative things. I think your display is very nice looking, not cluttered btw. I think there is a fine line of collecting vs cluttering and a lot of it is defined by how big your space is; too much stuff in a small space looks awful but so does too few things in a large space imo.
There are so many rabbit holes to avoid, so I know the feeling 😅 So the modding is done on a original controller? Actually never thought about that. Always just buy a wireless third party controller 🙈 If it’s only for the looks, check out my corner controller stand for my n64 controllers. They are with wires and original, but the stands really hide the cables good. I hate cables! but never really notes them 😊
Thank you very much! No, none. I did play around with Photoshop in my younger days, nothing serious. Other than that, I'm just a landscape gardener and not even designing stuff, just doing the dirty work 😉 Maybe I'm letting all my artistic skills out in my game room.. I am really enjoying it and love to design and get everything to add up and "connect" the entire room. I often take the aesthetics into account before anything 😅 We are all different in what we want and like, but you can always DM me if you need a third-person perspective for some inspiration or ideas 👍
This looks awesome! I feel like Players choice and platinum games can look alright as long as they're all on their own seperate thing from the normal game cases. Like having Gamecube games, then your players choice titles right next to it still on the same shelf.
Thank you 🙏 Yeah, if they were on separate shelves, it would look good. Having them on the same shelf separately, even in alphabetical order, would mess it up for me. Some of the Player's Choice/Platinum editions are better displayed than others. For instance, the PS1, PS3, and GameCube versions have a flat and bad color choice compared to the standard versions. On the other hand, the Wii and Wii U editions are more discreet (on the spine, at least).
Agree with all. Most hardware gonna die in 100 if not 50 years and the truth is that we are just collecting art in cardboard/plastic boxes for display. Mostly every game can be downloaded and played in order to not compromise the delicate hardware in it and we can just focus on things that we had or never had and enjoy.
Thank you so much! I appriciate it 🙏I’m sorry to hear that. Family comes first ♥️ and you can always re-buy games in the future if you really need them 😊
Very elegant. Nice that you have your N64 CIB for display. I'm thinking of making some free standing shelves primarily for loose cartridge mixed with some CIB.
I gotta say you did a great job with this video I really love video game collecting (not only because it’s fun) but also there’s a story to them! Sometimes it can be awesome like how I got my copy of metal slug on sega Saturn! And other times it can be weird creepy and disturbing like how I got my copy of the salamander deluxe pack plus on the sega Saturn!
Thank you! Happy to hear that 👍 Nothing about how and where I got the games. But that’s mainly because I can remember where i got most of them 😂 But it does sounds like you have some juicy stories interlaced with tour collection 😉
@@MrSkovdal So how I got the game metal slug on sega Saturn is very awesome! So I usually start my day working with the trash walk where I get a bag and a shopping cart (also a broom and dust pan as well) so while I was cleaning up the cigarette bench there was a sketchy person in there he was changing his clothes (in public) so I had to let the people from lost prevention know what’s up! And apparently this guy was stealing things (maybe clothes?) and the people from LP let me know that because I turned the sketchy guy in (after he stole things) I got $11 so I got the game metal slug! As for how I got the game salamander I was house sitting for my family as they went out to go see grandma and grandpa it started out fine I went and saw this weird movie called “kinds of kindness!” And then (again I started the trash walk) where LP alerted me about some guy wearing his underwear (and nothing else) And a few days later the family dog escaped (after I let him out in the backyard!) Yeah it wasn’t fun at all!
Thank you 🙏 I bought them from a local gamestore here in Denmark, but I'm pretty sure they are just those cheap ones from eBay. Just search "box protectors N64 😉
@MrSkovdal Ok, thank youuu ❤️ Btw I don't need so much protectors. I have a medium-big collection because at start I couldn't give an identity to it. Now, by Vinted and other selling methods, I'm polishing my collection hoping to arrive at a max to 200 🙏🏻

Cool and aesthetic, but I personally would not like that my will to play something new that I discover and don't have yet were limited by the space of a square ranging in a wall
This makes me not feel so bad about how poorly my collection is displayed.
