I'm hopeful but one thing to note here is that this is a pv which means it was specifically animated for this trailer. The same scene in the actual show will probably look different. This was animated by Kenichiro Aoki - the man who carried S2 on his back. The problem is just like in season 2 he can't possibly animate all of the fights himself, there's just too many of them. So the question is will they be able to get some freelancers like Madhouse did in S1 or will it be a repeat of S2 with Kenichiro Aoki only occasionally showing up for the hype scenes.

They have way more staff working at JC and on OPM now. The team is much larger as in the past 5 years JC has upgraded and brought in a lot of new talent. It’s great that the previous animator who carried season 2 is here but he’s also joined by a lot more animators this time around so likely he’s collaborating with his team well ahead of schedule to get things going.
Imo Kenichiro is decent and that's the Best JC staff could offer, now imagine everything after this is only below Kenichiro's level
Chikashi kubota is also on the team
I think the lighting, color choices and and backgrounds in the scene are a nice change of mood. The easiest part of animation is sitting down and watching someone else's completed animated show. Imagine demanding producers on one end and demanding fans on the other end and being the art team in the middle. Most people can't handle the pressure of just waking up at 6am to get ready for school or work.
Im just glad MAPPA animators can finally catch a break and spend time with their families.

It's definitely going to air either near the end of the year or next year entirely. Judging from what I've seen in the Manga version on the next arc, the staff is going to have a field day dealing with the amount of artistic details that's ahead of them. I don't care if this takes two years to complete, I just hope they don't rush the animation. TAKE YOUR TIME.

you right. i’ve been impatient and after seeing this animation i think they should take more time on it bc the fights that are coming up are literally crazy and the choreography rn isn’t as live to me. they can definitely do better than that

Two things people need to note:
1. Season 2 was not given enough time, which was the main reason it turned out the way it did. We shouldn’t expect season 1 quality ever again, but we can hope that given we don’t have a release date yet and how long the wait has been already (even if this hasn’t been in production the WHOLE time) that season 3 will be an improvement over the last.
2. Even if this trailer is pre-animated (been confirmed), that doesn’t necessarily mean anything. Bleach TYBW used and touched up scenes from the pre-animated trailer in the final version.

@@GEMfanatica the trailer. All the footage was apparently animated by one person and is just for the trailer, meaning what we see isn’t exactly an indication of what the season will look like (refer to what I said after it being pre- animated).

That would make it much better, since they will be able to improve it
2 possibilities that I can think of:
1. this is the best they have to offer, so it will get worse as the season goes on.
2. This is an unimportant fight, which means the more important ones will be much better.

well thing is this trailer isnt even in the show. its preanimte all by kenchiro aoki. (the guy who did most of the good stuff in season 2) they dotn even have anythign to show yet...who knows.. im not optomistic

Honestly I would prefer if they make garo's final monsterfication into cosmic garou until the end of his fight vs Saitama into a movie.
We've seen a lot of animes doing it recently and then release those parts into the series.
it is a fight worth the time and budget to do so, if anything it might be one of the best anime fights that deserves that type of treatment.
A movie would be amazing as long as its not a live action.
Just don't give it to JC Staff, I know they are also just as hardworking as the other studios. But they are not know for there fighting animations. And doing justice to the One punch man Manga would be no easy task for even studios like ufotable & mappa.
I have NO idea how people can be mad about this fight scene, It looks incredible. Did JC staff drop the ball a last time? Yes. HOWEVER, this scene along with some really good ones in the last season, (TTM Vs Garou) I feel confident in this upcoming season for sure.
nah bro we are cooked. I read on onepunchman subreddit that JC staff's best animator basically carried this entire trailer. Theres further proof on reddit i forget the rest of the details. But it means in all likelihood it will be the same quality as season 2 which isnt the end of the world

I agree, that's part of what was wrong with series two, the step down was huge but half of that was because season one was excellent.

honestly, j.c staff definitely upped theyre game and went full on with opm s3, the amount of backlash they got from s2 totally made them understand what mistakes they made and learned from em, excited for s3🔥🔥🔥
I think people overreact over season 2. Sure it wasn’t as good as the first season but I still enjoyed season 2 a lot, I didn’t really have much complaints about it
yea same, imo the sound quality in s2 was way more cooler than s1, all the pops & bangs & fighting sounds we're great
We all know the deal with JC Staff- with "guys" hating it for being identified with BL and related stuff- so their homophobe radar was on high and they started complaining about all those tiny details they only bother with. I know the attitude has always been like that with the slightest association with BL- even if it's just the animation studio. JC Staff has done an excellent job with other anime- better quality and OST than other animation studios in many aspects- but people tend to gloss over that or they just don't know enough about JC Staff at all and simply randomly judge them based on some of their minor projects in the past.
Mapa is an amazing studio- but I think people should stop stereotyping studios and nitpicking on details that don't even affect the narrative and the entertainment value of the animation. JC Staff can do just as well... and yeah complainers will always complain until the animators overwork themselves and THEN they get to complain about that too. Is appreciating hard work so hard for everyone?

The problem comes when people who reads manga compare the animation not with season 1 but with the manga panels, and yeah I read the manga so even if I try I would always think season 2 was "bad" even tho I really enjoyed episodes 3,8,11 and 12!
@@youtube_clips_official They don't realize that the manga and the anime CAN'T be exactly the same because the nature of the medium is not only entirely different visually in many TECHNICAL aspects but also- the marketing makes it essential that the manga and the anime be different- isn't that the selling point of the manga to begin with? If you have the anime portraying the story even BETTER than the manga, you'll have the manga losing its original "charm" and audiences saying "I'm just gonna wait til the story is adapted into anime... because it's gonna be better. The manga industry stands to lose if that happens.

I feel like they’re not showing us all they can do, meaning that this trailer was not to overhype us with amazing animation now, but to lower our expectations so when we see their full potential it’ll be more mind blowing than we thought (I hope this is right)

JC Staff not bad they just had to follow like you said the dream team. But this already looks like a step up from season 2
Problem I think is, it might look good from JC studio from the couple seconds we’ve seen but it might just turn out bland, if it feels unoriginal, or strays from the original one punch experience then it would damage the fan base pretty heavily I think.

I cant remembers in this fight exactly on surface but I remember Garou coming across Ripper when he find the Brat imprisoned underground right? Doesnt he use like some of Rippers bandaging for himself or something?

Indeed, the quality of the second season was not ideal, but it was still acceptable for me and I enjoyed watching it. The only problem that may arise is the magnitude of the battles of this season, which I hope the Animite team can cope with this difficult task, despite the criticisms that are rightly directed at them.
I mean of course this trailer is gonna look good they put a bunch of effort into it to make a good impression I’ll save my actual judgment for when actual episodes drop I really hope they don’t drop the ball
Las primera escena de este pv me hizo inmediatamente relacionarlas a kenichiro aoki y su estilo característico de dibujo, animación y el tipo de movimientos y tomas que hace, la escena siguiente también, y ahí es donde las cosas se pusieron extrañas para mí porque todo luce animado por aoki, si aoki hizo el pv él solo, es increíble y al mismo tiempo triste porque implica que a este punto JC Staff aún no tiene otros nombres importantes y esto podría ser lo mejor que podrían hacerlo y lo demás sería igual que S2, aunque en algún comentario de un video leí que algunos key animators de Kyoto Animation se unieron al proyecto, si eso es verdad hay esperanza de que veamos algo mejor, pero también hay que tener en cuenta que esta animación pudo ser hecha específicamente para el anuncio y puede experimentar cambios al final, ya veremos

I was never bother by the animation in season 2 cause im here for the story to be animated
(some spoilers) I’m a bit late to comment but I think that despite this fight scene being better than what we got in season 2, it still does not live up to the insanely good animation of season 1. Even if the entirety of season 3 was as good as this trailer, its animation would still fall short of season 1. This is unfortunate considering that season 3 will cover more of the monster association arc and possibly even cover cosmic fear garou and his fight with saitama, which is a fight that absolutely cannot afford to be touched by JC staff, even with decent improvements as made evident by this trailer.

at first glance i didn't know it was being animated by jc staff how good it looked. still i really dislike that milky blur effect i have no idea why every new anime uses it. is that like an eye illusion to make the animation look smoother?

It’s not hard to replicate season 1. Why do people keep saying that. The recipe is there. The same artists who did season 1 are still alive and welll… it comes down to the studio and director. Madhouse could do it again if they were compensated well

I’m only worried because from what I have seen, I don’t think JC staff has the talent to do the manga justice. This manga is quite literally the highest tier possible and it needs the best in the industry going at it. The detail and action from Orochi’s introduction through Monster/Cosmic Garou is balls to the wall

Season 1 was nearly every major name in the industry combined. Madhouse was just the main animators. Plus madhouse fell a long time ago.

Thats impossible even season 1 couldnt do that. The anime is supposed to have animation and awesome effects, but manga is designed to have incredible looking still frames
