I drove up to LA for this game because the padres were in Seattle I wore my Gwynn Jersey. The only time Dodger fans would ever cheer for a padre it felt so good when my jersey was featured on the jumbo tron

My all time favorite. My first game I met Tony and Garvey 6/15/84. And they interviewed Tony years later. He said he knew he was gonna do it. I still have a jersey he signed for me 1996. Nice job Rockies telecast.

I know it’s years later, but ma’am, Tony Gwynn was much more than a singles hitter, much, much more.
Like Ted Williams himself said he was the most feared batter he has ever seen in his life, especially with 2 outs and nobody on.
He also has five gold gloves and has stolen over 50 bases five times.
Quite simply, Tony Gwynn was the best all-around baseball player ever to stroll onto the field.
