      Do not eat these fish as we have lots of mercury and aquatic spraying going on in all of our waters down here. I will not eat any fish I catch down here due to it. These retention ponds are constantly being sprayed by landscapers and companies who manage them to kill off the grass.

    I was down in Miami for work in Feb 2019 and spent three weeks working and fishing...a lot of fishing. LOL! I hit the canals and caught a ton of peacocks, mayans, and others. It was so much fun and I need to go back. I would work until early afternoon, then go fishing until about 6, grab food, and go back to my hotel and do some more work. And I fished all weekend long as well. If you want to teach someone to fish and really want them to get the bug, take them to the canals. Use a small piece of bread rolled up in a ball on a small hook and a small pole and the action is non-stop. And they fight so hard. Great stuff John!! --Brent

I will definitely hit some more spots when I get back out that way. Check out that canal before going into the glades where that Publix ison SW 8th St. It looks like a great stretch of water.

    Those ponds are mostly "borrow pits" where they harvested sand to build up surrounding land above the water to build. The whole state is sand over a limestone cap. You won't find any hard rocks like granite. Natural lakes between Orlando and Jacksonville are mostly where an underwater cave roof collapsed to leave a round lake, usually spring-fed clear water with sand bottom. Probably a harmless brown water snake (or banded), though can be hard to distinguish from a water moccasin other than the shape of the head.

    The spots many fish have just before the tail is a “false eye.” It’s to distract a predator and make it target the tail instead of the actual head which gives the prey a better chance to escape. Many animals and insects have “false eyes” which serve the same purpose especially large, nocturnal moth species; Cecropia, Io, etc..

      I totally agree with you! I'm surprised that John's subscribership has stopped...but he has, like, 126,000+ Subscribers, and I'm hoping that he'll continue to keep his channel going. He's come so far from his very first videos. Do you remember any of those? I sure do. The very first one of John's videos that I ever saw, was when him and his Mother were sittin' on the bank of a Creek, just fishin' along, and John caught some nice fish, including a nice-sized Catfish that looked like it weighed 3-4 pounds.
      Over the years, Brother John has built up quite a collection of great fishin' videos for us to watch, and, as time has gone on, he's included music, footage of birds and wildlife, even different kinds of snakes and whatnot. He's included Fishing Tourneys footage, and he may have even included Bass Pro Shop footage.
      John's channels, Creek Fishing Adventures, and More Creek Fishing Adventures, are a true treasure trove to have on RUclips. He even speaks to us of, and from, God's Holy Word, The Bible! This is an additional bonus, that many of us, his subscribers, have benefitted from, and have been mightily blessed by. I just hope that he doesn't quit. There's got to be SOMETHING that we, the Subscribers, can do, to encourage Brother John not to give up. If that eventually happens, though, then I'll respect his wishes and decisions, whatever they may be. Still...I want to see him stay on RUclips. Something's gotta give. His Subscribership has been somewhere between 126,000-127,000 subscribers...and all of a sudden, it stopped. Admittedly, I'm very concerned. Let's see what happens from this point on. If you have any suggestions, as to how I personally can help, please let me know. We don't need to lose Brother John! He's worth fighting for!

    • @howardharstine2804
      @howardharstine2804 Год назад +1

      The most important thing is allowing God to move John in His way and He will open doors or subscribers added as needed to allow John to stay on RUclips and continue. John has trusted God in his move to make his channel his only way of living and I believe he has changed peoples lives with his testimony and sharing God’s creation along side of John’s adventures! Sharing God’s word at the end of each video is vital and what I personally look for and enjoy! Sometimes it’s exactly what one needs at that moment. Hoping and praying that whatever the case, God’s will be done and all honour and glory goes to Him. I enjoy the fishing and all the adventure and no lack of excitement along the way! Thanks all!

      @@CreekFishingAdventures hope you enjoy it! You had a killer day in this video…look forward to seeing how the rest of your trip went, I’m wondering if you ran into any peacock bass which I was unsuccessful in catching during my time down there. I did however fish down there during the cold front…temps got below 50 in fort myers, but it produced one of the most fun days of fishing I’ve had in while fishing a golf course pond!

    It is thought that the spot on the tail is a false eye. It is believed it is there to confuse predators.

    I love your videos! Lived in Deerfield Beach for a bit and went to Pahokee one day and fished the Okeechobee. Gators everywhere! Ha. But on the way back, we stopped and parked at the entrance of Florida Crystals off of 27 and fished in a canal that runs the whole road. That was fun! It’s full of big gators but good fishing. 😀. There’s parts where you can stand on a pipe that goes across the canal too or higher banks away from the gators. It was a good time. Oh! One more thing. watch out for the fire ants! Experience now tells me to watch where I’m walking around a pond. Man that hurt but I caught my first cichlid. 😂
