Damn that Tarpon was a nice size at the beginning. Awesome jump! Great looking Jacks as well and sure the fight was ridiculous....next time you go bring some crabs and fish right next to them bulkheads and concrete pylons...see if there's some sheepshead or tog next to them...Great vid Mike!!

    Hey man, great video!
I used to fish tarpons with my dad in Brazil.
This fishing is really particular, it is a visual fishing. You should observe the water and just wait for the fish to come to top water (just like on 23:23 and 23:30) and then you cast just behind it. Reel in aprox. 3 times, stop for half a second, and keep doing it this way. You'll catch'em a lot more!
The white shad you're using is great choice, by the way.
Good luck on your next adventures!

I live near a now decommissioned power plant. When it was in operation, the cooling tower outflow was 10F warmer than the surrounding water. It housed migratory fish like striped bass and bluefish year round. Now, fish still show up there, but not nearly as much.

      Funny story:
Me and my ex were enjoying a beautiful day on West St. Andrews Bay. All was right with the World. Then the No-See-Ems swarmed us out of nowhere.
I started trying to pull start the lil 15hp Mariner on my Zodiac. She was standing over my shoulder screaming "Go Go Go Go".... With me a'yankin on yhat pull cord. I guess somewhere in the chaos she got a little too close behind my "pull cord yankin' hand" and we connected....
      I knocked that poor girl clean-cold-out !!
She came to about the time we got back to the landing.

woah! i live just a town away from there! youtube recommended me a fishing video a week ago and i never expected this rabbit hole to get so close to home! I loved those big towers as a kid as at nighttime they would blink out of sync which was fun to watch. There used to be 2 big thick ones that were my absolute favorite but they got torn down a few years ago. Never knew it was right next to the river lol. Pretty mindblowing.

If you get hit hard with a swim bait stop reeling and let it dead fall to the bottom, usually before it hits the mud or sand the fish will have turned and ate the bait, they are used to blasting through bait balls and turn to eat the injured baitfish....its worked for me a lot

As an employee of one of these places, the water going out is cleaner than the water coming in. This appears to be a mixture of coal and natural gas plant. There is no radiation as that is not a nuclear facility. Also there is more radiation in your home than we face on a daily basis at a nuclear facility.
