@@maxf1 "out of the question" implies something unrealistic or impossible not worth discussing. "In question" implies something that *can* happen and should be discussed.
Mick is going to learn a lot more than last year. Honestly you could look at this year as a 2nd rookie year since this is the first year with somewhat competitive equipment, he has a much better teammate to measure himself and learn from, and doesn't have to deal with the toxic environment him and Haas had to deal with Mazespin and Mazespin Sr.
Kmag’s in a machine that he deserves, no doubt he’ll lift MIck up and help him become a better driver Also the whole haas team are finally getting the recognition and results they deserve, hopefully they’ll keep getting better results minus the hate from rivals
I think Mick will learn a lot more this year than last year. I'm not sure how much he could learn in the slowest car on the grid in 2021 and with a team mate like Mazepin.
I'm not sure either one of those would have hurt him, but the two combined I think did... he could be in a terrible car, as long as the driver next to you in the garage is competent then you can get a grasp on what the car is capable of. Mick had to maximize the cars potential himself, at the age of 22... Vettel had Webber, Hamilton had Alonso, Verstappen had Ricciardo... they had someone decent to measure up to, and of course the skill required to do it.
Schumacher haters pretending like they don't see it, even at the start i already see Mick potential when he overtake Sainz who drive Ferrari and also overtake Zhou. We know Haas struggle in Australia because they have bad porpoising issues, its not just Mick but Kmag also suffer the same issues. Even after Mick did some mistake he still finished in front of Kmag, F1 fans really underestimate Mick, this guy is so fast when he got right car.
@@runninginthe90s75 can we take a second to pause and talk about who he's supposed to compare to... people are expecting him to hop into an f1 car and perform magic, he's not Michael, he's Mick... people need to give him the room to be himself
Last season it was the car being the worst on the grid and lack of experience which he had the entire season to gain. Kev hasn't raced for a long time, comes back and gets Haas to a mid table position. Mick has no excuses now, he should do a lot better. If this keeps up Haas should forget that he is Micheal Schumacher's son and just replace him with a better racer for the sake of the team. Getting rid of Mazepin was the best decision the team made so far. Mick Schumacher next, unless Haas is happy to remain where they are..
As a Dane, I hope for Kevin to win the internal battleship, but I hope that Mick will benefit from Kevin's experience and upgrades. And as you know, from the past, Kevin is a team player, and will share all he got and knows, with Mick. I really hope that the young German gets a long and awarding career in F1... These two drivers seems like a perfect match, and I really hope they will be in the HAAS team together, for several years... I wish either of those two guys a top 3 final podium, As Mick has said himself, Kevin is a better benchmark than Mazapin... Wish the best for the two drivers... Kevin hasn't got the sponsors to get (pay him ) in the top, but I hope that Mick will inprove and devolop, and maybe get a chance in Ferarri, when they are on top again... Then I will cheer for him...
In some ways its a bit unfair to Mick that he's debuting with so much focus on him just because of his name--not being able to make mistakes and learn in his debut year like most new drivers. But thats F1, you hit the ground running and he has to soak up the pressure and its a sleep curve.
Questions? Do you think he would have gotten that seat IF he did not have exactly that last name. Not many people believe that. he is helped all the way by that name. but at some point you have to deliver on the big stage, and he does not. That he beat mazepin last year just says it all about the extremely low level Mazepin had.
As a dane I will always be hoping for Magnussen, but I have no doubt, that Magnussen is a great team mate, and that Mick is the strongest talent in the field which will lead to great results from them both during 2022
"...set the bar too high?" What? Should KMag dumb down his driving so he doesn't make his team mate look slow? For every team, it must be the most important goal to get the most of any car, in order to - potentially - improve on the car, and not worry about maybe hurting someone's feelings. "...set the bar too high..." Pffft...
This is just empty words to make "news" out of nothing. Kevin is a veteran driver who many see as a potential World Champion contender if he ever gets a car in the front end of the grid. Kevin has never gotten that chance mainly because he is from Denmark - which is a country without a car industry, which means he doesn't have a lot of money following him. This makes it hard for him to appeal for a top seat, but never the less many people recognize him as part of the elite. Mick on the other hand is a new driver in a VERY competitive field. Many seasons in the past had a group of "less than qualified" drivers on the grid, many of whom bought their seats in F1 (Mazapin is a GREAT example!) This year however there really isn't any of those drivers in the field, which makes it very hard to even get past Q1. The fact that Kevin does this consistently doesn't throw shade on Mick - but rather should be seen as a MASSIVE boon for a young driver like Mick. Why? Well Kevin was "raised" by his dad and uncle in racing - both of whom have instilled a strong sense of team spirit and loyalty in Kevin. I can tell you this from being someone who has followed Kevin since his dad was a "young driver with a talented son" - IF Mick seeks Kevins help - he WILL get it! To Kevin it wouldn't even be a question - it would be a cert! Having a teammate like Kevin for a young 2nd year driver is invaluable! So yes - having Kevin there will help to push Mick - but that push will most likely be forward rather than "out of the way"! Now stop doing hit pieces on the rookie drivers - and focus on something else m8! LOL Also ... P4 in Qualifying... SÅDAN KEVIN! LET'S GOOOOOOOOO!
If he really wants to follow in his father's footsteps, then no, the bar is not too high at all. And yes, he should expect to be able to beat his teammate, Kmag or Mazepin. Otherwise it will be pointless to imagine him to be as good as Max or Charles.
Mick has nothing to worry about. He'll continue to improve; and before the season is over, he'll be much closer to Kevin. He's a realist; and his prior racing experiences clearly demonstrate that when he has someone to gauge his abilities with, he eventually surpasses them.
Kevin is not up to his true potential yet, after 14 month out of F1 and limited testing - Mick has had a first year as rookie, where he with ease outperformed fathers boy. But will wake up to the brutal reality. He is a talented driver so he will learn to cope with the pressure and end as a good second in the team 🤭 🇩🇰 😊 although Kmag could learn ONE thing from Mick - check out and compare the size of their necks 😮
I feel like this year count as Schumacher rookie season since he was a lap behind everyone on the grid (except Mazepin of course) and you don’t learn anything from behind behind everyone and driving by your self you learn by dueling other driver which he now can…
lmao stop giving him excuses. Rookie year my ass, he's already had experience living the F1 life where pressure is amplified many times higher and driven an F1 car which are much more powerful than anything he drove prior where even if it was a Haas he still got a whole year of driving a car that was F1 spec. So no hes not a rookie as he's had the benefit of the hardest things rookies have to deal with in their first year which is all the mental side of things.
If I was Schumacher I would be worried. Magnussen started in F1 with a #2 podium (the best rookie result ever). Schumacher has been racing for more than a season. No excuses for not demonstrating serious talent - if he has it. A full season of results far behind KMag's in the same car will be noticed by everyone in the F1 circuit.
I am a huge Shumi fan AND a big Mac fan. This is not totally fair to Mick. He has been a bit unlucky. He will step up I am sure! Hope that both will make points for Haas. But remember that Kevin is one of the best out there. Look at Grosjean. He is top preforming in the US but got beaten repeatedly by Kevin. Kevin is an ultimate benchmark really. He is not a driver in a top team only be course he is a Dane and therefore not able to get the sponsorship needed to be get contention in one of the top teams. He has bounced back three times. Not by fonds, but by talent. I hope and expect that Kevin and Mick will be a wonderful team together! It's not a battle to survive just jet.
Mick is just lucky who his father is as any other driver performing like him would get slammed hard by everyone. Look at Tsunoda last year when he had a team mate who is just as fast if not faster than Magnussen yet had already scored points at the same stage of season and was slammed by everyone including by Horner and Marko
Won't be till 2023 before Schumi will show anything. He's consider to be a 2nd timer in everything he has done. He came in last year which was the last year also that aero era, and now that we are in the new semi dumb "ground effects" era, he's gonna need this year to get used too it. However I don't think he'll be bottom this year in points standing, at least top 13.
I see your point, but in top sport, is there room for a person, who always needs a year to get to know the new car? I hope he will come closer to, or even be faster than my Viking. by doing so, he can help making Kevin stronger!
@@Sveske06 I think getting rid of rookies that ruthlessly and throwing them out after less than five season I would say is a mistake. Now don't get me wrong when I say FIVE seasons. However after getting on in age and seeing how other drivers who used to be rookies and how much I despised them for being shit drivers, some of them are very once they mature and get experience, they become decent, if not outright world champions like Lewis Hambone. Mick has a good yardstick to be measured against now, I've been saying that since the announcement that KMag was coming back. We all know what Kevin is capable of, and so far we've seen it - points 3 out of 4 races and Mick was 3 seconds behind at the flag at the Imola Sprint race. They are race 4 in, and Mick seems to be making progress. This is good.
F1 opportunities are rare - the progeny of legends matching their fathers is even more rare.
Yes well said
Kmag for the win
K Mag will continue to shine... He was never my fav driver but he has mellowed as his skill level has grown... Mick just need to keep close....real close!!!
Yep I think it could be a good year for both...lets see
Short answer: Yes
It's a perfect partnership...
I think thtat both drivers could and will benifit from this and take HAAS to a new level...
Unless a bigger team offers KEV a seat next year..
RUS or LEC and KEV would be a dream team...
I'm glad for Kevin but Mick has always done better 2nd season. I cant think of anything better for Mick to have Kevin back again and he will learn the Haas car
Could a win be out of the question this year for Haas?
@@maxf1 you never know how races go and leaders taking each other out
@@maxf1 "out of the question" implies something unrealistic or impossible not worth discussing.
Kmag’s in a machine that he deserves, no doubt he’ll lift MIck up and help him become a better driver
Also the whole haas team are finally getting the recognition and results they deserve, hopefully they’ll keep getting better results minus the hate from rivals
Did everybody miss the part where Mick overtook KMag on track in Australia??? He has the potential. He needs more time.
Yes it was a great move
Also the way he avoided Tsunoda at the restart 👌
All best to Mick, but KMags mediums were crap. Look what happened to Alonso on mediums. The Hard tire was clearly THE goto tire that weekend.
@@runninginthe90s75 can we take a second to pause and talk about who he's supposed to compare to... people are expecting him to hop into an f1 car and perform magic, he's not Michael, he's Mick... people need to give him the room to be himself

Just saying… Mick finished 11 in Bahrain after wrecking the first lap. You don’t drive all the way back from that unless you have some skill.
@@toyotaecw very fair point
Last season it was the car being the worst on the grid and lack of experience which he had the entire season to gain.
Kev hasn't raced for a long time, comes back and gets Haas to a mid table position. Mick has no excuses now, he should do a lot better. If this keeps up Haas should forget that he is Micheal Schumacher's son and just replace him with a better racer for the sake of the team.
Getting rid of Mazepin was the best decision the team made so far. Mick Schumacher next, unless Haas is happy to remain where they are..
He's is good in qualifying, everybody need two years in F1,
He has been two years in F1
People forget he was on podium on his first race....
I follow K-Mag, but lessons learned would be, “A dozen ways to get your opponent to take you out”.
As a dane I will always be hoping for Magnussen, but I have no doubt, that Magnussen is a great team mate, and that Mick is the strongest talent in the field which will lead to great results from them both during 2022
Micks going to have a career damaging year
"...set the bar too high?" What? Should KMag dumb down his driving so he doesn't make his team mate look slow? For every team, it must be the most important goal to get the most of any car, in order to - potentially - improve on the car, and not worry about maybe hurting someone's feelings. "...set the bar too high..." Pffft...
Quite true it will up to every driver on the grid to outperform there team mate
LOL
Also ...
We all know teams put the money on one car.
this is basically his rookie year you can’t expect every rookie to come in and win
How could you consider his second season as his rookie year?
Mick has nothing to worry about. He'll continue to improve; and before the season is over, he'll be much closer to Kevin. He's a realist; and his prior racing experiences clearly demonstrate that when he has someone to gauge his abilities with, he eventually surpasses them.
Good point and time will tell
I'm surprised that the underrated Zhou has scored a top 10 finish but not Mick.
Good point
Kevin is not up to his true potential yet, after 14 month out of F1 and limited testing - Mick has had a first year as rookie, where he with ease outperformed fathers boy. But will wake up to the brutal reality. He is a talented driver so he will learn to cope with the pressure and end as a good second in the team 🤭 🇩🇰 😊 although Kmag could learn ONE thing from Mick - check out and compare the size of their necks 😮
Yes I think KMag will get even better, could a win be out of the question?
@@maxf1 yes unless the 5 top drivers breaks down - 😁
Last time mag was in formular one, he had a lot of focus on the neck, with his trainer. it will come back in time
@@maxf1 it will only happen if bowling bottas qualify in front of kevin . And takes out 4-6 cars ahead ....podium mybe ....but no victory ...
Schumacher just have to try his best (and im from Denmark so Kmag is doing a great job)
I feel like this year count as Schumacher rookie season since he was a lap behind everyone on the grid (except Mazepin of course) and you don’t learn anything from behind behind everyone and driving by your self you learn by dueling other driver which he now can…
In F1 you need to get up to speed fast though, but I think he has showed that in OZ
lmao stop giving him excuses.
Kom så Magnussen!....., come Singapore Q3/P1 vær sikker!
Within the team the bar is much higher to be sure. However, this pairing will only accelerate the rise of Mick.
Are serious or are you German Herr Fink! 😉
his father did.
Dana ? Don't YOU mean the Dane ?
Kevin will keep outpreforming mick
Mick is just lucky who his father is as any other driver performing like him would get slammed hard by everyone. Look at Tsunoda last year when he had a team mate who is just as fast if not faster than Magnussen yet had already scored points at the same stage of season and was slammed by everyone including by Horner and Marko
Can he?
Meant to be the best racing drivers in the world, so are at the top of their game, if they can't take the pressure then sod off out of the sport
I think he can handle it, time will tell of course
large disparity betwen them
Do you mean “Haas Magnussen set…” lmao
Im sure big bro Mick can cope with this
He is just a decent driver not far from mazepin or latifi, he is carrying that last name, too much presure.
People need to remember kmag is quite experienced compared to Mick . Mick Schumacher will be fine, his future is set up already I believe.
I think seb too need a break to to refresh his mind from the greatest downfall at Ferrari

HAAS honestly can only hope to be 4th best team this year.
I expect you to be fighting for Q3 in qualifying and trying your best with the machine that you have.
When I was a younger fan I probably would have passed judgement a lot faster.
However after getting on in age and seeing how other drivers who used to be rookies and how much I despised them for being shit drivers, some of them are very once they mature and get experience, they become decent, if not outright world champions like Lewis Hambone.
IE I despised Perez when he came to F1. I thought he was very underserving of that seat at McLaren and he was getting blood money from Carlos. And I was right, he was shit driver back than. He drove like how Max is still driving (which is hilarious because that fuckers' been in the sport for five years now and still drives like Senna... I wish Lewis would have shoved it up his ass each corner and I'm happy Charles isn't backing down at all) and torpedoing others.
But now look at him, he's one of the most beloved racer on the grid and even I like him now.

Mick is a realy Nice Guy and driver but just not the raw talent that many of the F1 drivers have . KM always had that talent but never realy had a good car . Mick needs to close the gap to KM this season ore it will be exit for him
We should forget the credits to his name and fathers past. He has to deliver. Being named in the previous past as a top talent, I can't see it yet. there is other ones in the game (Rusell, Tzunoda, Orcon and a few other ones) who started their F1 career in weak cars as well but showed off their potential, race by race. I assume if Huelkenberg would be ith the Haas team, he woulod achive better results. O.k. not talking this kid down but the car is competitive and he is on zero points.
