I've recently noticed small black dots all around the middle of my brand new real techniques beauty blender. I just thought it was dots from my eyebrow pencil because I always forget to put the cap back on. I don't have problematic skin but I have recently been breaking out and I decided to give my skin a rest to see would it clear up. Until this morning when i opened my makeup bag and noticed how there were more dots than ever. I just damp my sponge and throw it in my makeup bag being in a rush for school not realising the cause. Thank you so much for this video, I'll be sure to take better care of my EXPENSIVE makeup tools😂 x
Han this happened to me too and I freaked out.. so the dots were only at the top so I cut it off temporarily😂 getting a new one soon

There were tiny black dots on mine I thought from foundation or something. I ignored it for a month and finally realized when washing it out that more appeared when washing. I actually broke out a ton too

Thank you for the video! I got mine last Friday and I just tried it this morning. After using the BB i placed it on a paper towel. Paper towel is much thicker compared to a tissue paper. Once it dries down, i placed in my make up bag wrapped in a new paper towel. :)
Gosh i did everything wrong to my first ever beauty blender i didn't wash it after use, I put the wet blender back in my makeup bag and when i saw the black spots, i ignored it and kept on using it until now 😣😭
I stored my beauty blenders in a tight plastic container while it is still wet and the next day it got mold and sadly I had to throw it away and thanks for the tips!

Hi do you have another way to keep your beauty blender dry when you're travelling? I always got my beauty blender molded after travelling. Because I need to put my beauty blender into my makeup bag right away after doing my makeup. It's crazy that I have to change my beauty blender into a new one once a month.
Get a beauty blender plastic/silicone casing :)

If it grew mold, just wash it with antibacterial soap then boil it for like 15 minutes. It kills everything

Thanks so much for the video!! Same thing happened to mine and I had to throw away and despite having two more new ones I don't dare to use beauty blender anymore as I already have acne issues and I didn't wanted to cause more trouble to myself. I prefer my brushes more than the beauty blender.
I know, I'm also terrified to use beauty blenders now but I can't help it as I'm totally addicted. :P

If it's completely dry then you can store it in your makeup bag.

I just washed my Beaty blender and seen a black dot ( I have had a mouldy Beauty blender in the past because I would never let it dry and just store it in it’s closed box )

I saw the same thing on past 2 blenders
One of which was cheap and i used it almost daily which gave molds only when i stopped using it
And the other was expensive but gave molds more quickly
But last time i bought an entire jar of blenders
It had 3 big ones and 2 small ones
I used 1 big and 1 small blender
I allowed them to dry properly and stored them back again
One fine day when i opened my vanity, i saw the bigger one has got molds 😭😭😭😭😭😭
And all the other blenders were in contact with it
I saw that and felt disgusted
I was so freaking annoyed that i didn't touch it and closed it again
I bought a new one and its way cheaper yet the best
The mold one is still there and tomorrow i am planning to check which ones to throw
I wont throw all of them
Only that big one with black dots
If any other would have the same then surely
Otherwise i will wash them all along with the one I am using
I dont know if i have to throw the entire jar

Imagine you have to dry the blender for 2-3 days just after one use
And also you have to take care of how you are keeping it and where you are keeping it😢

Yes! You are basically touching your skin with bacteria! Of course there are chances of getting acne or other skin problems.

I know your comment was 3 years ago lmao but my first (and second) beauty blender got moldy and it was pink, but I when I washed it, it also kinda smelled moldy so maybe it's the only way u can tell in a black one
So you're supposed to put it on top of the container. I left it inside the opened container and saw weird mouldy dusty spots on it after a week

I've never tried that & it's not even recommended. I'll suggest to air dry.

Hi Ambra, I suggest repurposing the cardboard roll for paper towels/toilet tissue as a stand..., you can cut it in half to make it sturdy. I know my comment is really late, but this is what I do :)

I have no idea about that. I haven't heard anyone doing it.
