Lol I wish I had these problems in my 95 ram 3500!! I adjust my air flow by using the window 😣😣😣
You should take it to the dealer for the amount of money you paid should work better than that
Thing is that the big nice touch screen gots you fooled with the ram problems lol
Your a/c blend door isn't fully opening on the driver side.
According to the readings on the thermometer, it could be the flux capacitor is operating at 2.4 ghz and the WiFi booster may be shorting out the led circuits - due to insufficient carbon fiber in the intake to the bleeder valve leading to the DEF tank, thereby creating a negative pressure in the injection pump causing an inconsistency in voltages to the transducer.
Genius!
That's why higher than my 8th grade education
LOL
Maybe the heat from that 30” monitor?
I was about to comment this hahaha
Bwahaha!!!
My has a smaller screen and dose the same.
Who said turn air recycle off to make it colder?😂 that’s just silly lol. When you have it off it’s sucking hot ambient air from outside. When it’s on it’s sucking the “pre-cooled” cool air from the cab, making it easier for the system to push colder air. But anyways, that does seem a little warm even for being decently hot out. I’ve tested the A/C air temp on My 03 Silverado a couple times & it puts out right around 40 degrees on a “regular summer day” for my area (about 85-90 degrees, 45-65% humidity). When it’s a little cooler like 75-80 it’ll get down to mid 30s like around 37 degrees or so. And when it’s really hot, around 95-110 degrees with low humidity it was pushing out about 45degrees. & oh the passenger side is usually always a little colder, because the vents are shorter/closer to the source.
Keith’s Garage I was thinking the same thing lmao like who said that
In theory it's true because of the temp deltas. There is greater heat transfer capability with hot air. Same thing as how cold water will boil faster than hot water
I just got a Power Wagon 2021 and I’m having the same issue! Not cold enough which SUCKS BECAUSE I LOVE EVERYTHING ELSE.
There’s a TSB out for this now. Fixes this exact issue:
AC issues are a combination of the blend doors not sealing correctly (hence the reason for the new HVAC box part number), a duct temp sensor location (the reason for the new distribution box part number and new temp sensor), and HVAC module mapping (the reason for the new HVAC module part number).
static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2020/MC-10184475-9999.pdf
Cheers
Does Ram cover this?
@@Jufullback35 Yes.
where can the tsb be located?
I see nothing about the 21s? Is that a issue still?
Eddie, i had a brand new 2019 ram 2500 big horn the company i work for leased for me and the AC had the same problem. In my opinion it felt as if the ac was plenty cold but the fan just wasn’t blowing hard enough to give you that nice AC feeling.
That’s exactly the issue I’m having in my 2021 bighorn, it’s cold enough but I feel that it’s not blowing how it should.
I hate to say it but he clearly got into your head. I would just look at it as does it get cold enough to be comfortable.
small world, life is short. Always try and help someone in need. Strange, wonder what my jeep is at. Thanks for posting.
Didn’t Dad tell you that while he drove that truck ? He called it.
you should have spent a little more time with the machine hooked to the truck. I would run a good vaccum then charge to 1.3 lbs run the truck monitor pressures and temp then bump the refrigerant amount a tenth of a pound at a time to see if the low side drops a little more. the sticker may say 1.31 but might blow colder with 1.40 or 1.45 in it. you should also watch how low the suction side can get and see if it results in lower vent temp because it could be an actuator issue, actuator door leaking cold air out behind the dash or mixing with hot air from the heater core. You should be able to get low 40's even on a hot day. your gmc was not in the 20's otherwise your evap would be freezing up.
I’ve seen guys on the forums/groups clamping the heater hose and temp dropping to 40s
really?
I have a 2014 Silverado 2500HD 6.6 ,the A/C in my truck will makes snow flakes , it the best GM
ya my GM was crazy cold
Should 38-40 degrees coming out of the vent
I know it’s a long shot and difficult because not everyone has free access to a AC machine but I charged mine to factory specs and wasn’t that cold and I bumped mine up in .10 increments with the AC going and a fan blowing into the front of the truck and my 03 duramax blows 34 degree air on 95+ degrees days. It wound up holding almost a 1/2lb over factory specs.
My 18 Ram stays on Max AC during the summer, the fan speed can be adjusted with AC set on max
I do the same thing you do with my 2013 and my 2017. Works great that way
50-55 degrees is NOT GOOD ENOUGH. Especially down here in AZ when it’s 117F. I use my truck like a mobile office I want to freeze when im on a job site or idling waiting for someone. I leave my truck running to cool down my self and get in every 20-30 min. And at mid 50s temp that won’t work. And I agree 1.3 pounds is really low should be at least 2 pounds
Put your ac gauges on the low side pressure should be about 35 psi with the engine at 1200 rpm. Then look at the low side gauge. There is a scale on the gauge that will show the evaporator temperature. 35 psi will be 40 degrees at the evaporator. Your center vent air will be within about 5 degrees of the evaporator temperature. If it is more than that you have a blend door problem. If your low side psi is higher than 35 you don’t have enough Freon
I have a 19 Silverado crew cab and it sometimes helps if I shut the rear air vents. It doesn't seem as cold as my 13 Sorento I had before but it still gets cold after a few minutes. I figure it takes longer because it's a bigger system. Also, I've heard the air is colder if the fan is slower. Good luck with your new truck man. It's really nice.
There is a bulletin on this issue. Sticker wrong under hood. Shows 510g but if you charge it with 567g it will cool fine. Bring it into us at dealership if under warranty and we will fix for free.
mine says it holds 595G not 510 or 567
Should of kept the Duramax! That thing was sick!!
I bet if you added an additional condenser fan you would cool down more. Maybe there's a TSB that adjust the condenser fan speed. It's almost like your condenser fan may be spinning to slow. You should put a big ass fan from your shop in front of the truck (and spray it down with water) and see if that lowers the vent temp. Your A/C machine is an older one too. The new ones have a charge accuracy within 1/2 an ounce which is much more accurate than the Snap On unit you have. This is especially crucial on smaller capacity units like yours.
How is 48 in the 50 range 50 range is 50 to 59 not 40 that would be 40 range.
Take it to the dealer there is a TSB and the dealer can fix under warranty!
It sucks but that's a part of getting the 1st year of a redesign, You have to deal with little problems every once and awhile.
Hopefully, they don't watch this video he may not warranty
what are they gonna fix i just checked it
Whats the TSB number?
@@EddieLife3500
Ive heard that there isnt enough freon in them from factory and the dealer adds more.
I have a new RAM as well. The passenger side was in the mid 40s, Driver side 51 degrees. I get exactly the same results as you. Put a clamp on the front heater hose and watch it go down to 43 degrees. My heater core is heating the air on the driver side A/C. It is very possible you are seeing the same issue..
i am honestly good in mine i know its only 50 but i am still comfortable in there
My Nissan Frontier 2019 blows out 38 out of the vents. I live in south Florida. It freezes me out.
2017 ram 3500 6.7 .electrical climate control not turning on at all . What would you check for this?
Tjanks
Just a thought, but what if they are using that drivers vent/ duct work to cool down that big screen?
Maybe the driver side temperature blend door malfunctioning or vent vent temp sensor reading incorrectly.
Probably a safety feature the truck has. Pretty cool though.
Eddie have efren put hose clamp pliers on the heater hoses going into the cab to shut off the heater core and if your ac starts cooling better you know the problem is inside with a blend door or actuator not closing/sealing properly letting warm air come out with cold and keeping it at 50
That would be miserable in Louisiana with the humidity. We are at 101 today....My F250 blowing around 40. Just doesn't seem right that Ram would make an inferior A/C system. Very weird.
My work truck is blowing cold, but it’s just not a large enough volume of air to displace the West Texas heat. It’s a brand new 2500 truck, and this is my only disappointment.
2019 ram half ton 4x4 with new style coolant system. My fan speed rarely goes over 4 because it'll freeze you out of the truck. Hot/humid Oklahoma weather, btw.
OK is no where near AZ heat
Your Denali didn’t have vents for the backseat, and your Ram does, would that make a difference?
I actually find it rediculous that your complaining about the ac not being cold enough but you refuse to put the ac on a higher fan setting to accomplish your desired result. Thats like me wanting my home ac to keep the air at 68 but refuse to set it below 70 then cry about it. My 2 cents.
Faster fan setting makes the temp get hotter.
Dude learn how it works LOL Max A/C is the circulate which cools the inside air!! not the out side air which is why it gets cooler and is what you should have it on. If not the A/C has to cool the HOT outside air down to what it is set for.. As for it blows out to fast.. Turn down the blower/fan LOL it will still work as it should. But FYI keep all of you RO`s if you take it to the dealer for this or any issue. And check to make sure they close out the RO`s. So not to run them together as one. Which means if you take it in 20 times for the same issue it will only show one or two time for the same issue. Plus Dodge will only pay the dealer once maybe twice for the same diagnostics. IE mileage is not the same as it was the last time it was in, or the RO does not have a invoice number with an A or B or C on it. If it does that means its the next page on last RO which was left open on you. Because 4 times for the same issue is lemon law and they know this and will leave the RO`s open so it will show you`ve only been there 1 or 2 times. I just went through this with Ford
I put my truck on 68-74 degrees depending on when I get in it and then as it gets cold I adjust to the temp I want it to stay at. It uses max/whatever it needs to get the truck cooled down then it adjusts itself to what it needs to keep the temp regulated. Can't he just set the temp and let it do it's thing and see if it does it's job?
I have the same problem. I'm annoyed that my 2005 ford could freeze you out of the car. But my truck, can't keep me from sweating.
There is a service bulletin which is basically a reprogramming of the computer..... it helped my AC tremendously... was done in a few minutes by the dealer
Were you able to objectively measure the vent temp output after the reprogramming?
I have 2019 2500 Cummins longorn I have same problem!!! Driver side is hotter and when I put it up to 65 it gets hot not cool. I have to put it all the way down to low for it to go back to cool air. Passenger side is colder then driver and you can tell big time! Did you figure anything out on how to fix it?
ya there is no fix for it the problem is in the heater core, that is just the design that ram did for this truck
When is this thing getting all the accessories. Fuel tank lift wheels tires delete tune lights
Do you think the 2022 jeep wagoneer has the same ac fault? Its the same engine
It may be the blend door accuator mine was worse I had to go to 90 degrees than back to 60 degrees and it would work. Took to dealer and the blend door was bad. Much better now.
Made in Mexico? They are doing the same as Gm for their trucks; since it cost less to make trucks in other country. They are making them cheap
You know what I think brother I think your pops got in your head about your A/C and now it’s bugging the hell out of you lol but idn I can be wrong I’d take it back to RAM dealer and have it checked
I've had two 2019s and my AC didn't get cold in either one
Drove a new ultimate yesterday here in AZ, 110 out and the AC was HORRIBLE!!! It couldn't even begin to cool down the truck, our all blacked out Navi immediately cools down and so has all of our F150's previously even when 110+ out.
Yeah I can’t argue with you on that the AC sure does suck in my truck
Your blowing out at mid 50 and it’s only 89 outside. What’s it going to blow when it’s 110F
Dodge/ram since I can remember hav always had A/c problems, dont get me wrong the Cummins engine is amazing, every great truck has a flaw
Hey Eddie. I have a new 18' Ram 3500 single. At first the ac was like your experiencing. Then I tried the auto climate control. Just set the temp you want, ( I do 69*) and let it do its thing. It controls fan speed, seat cooling. All automatic. The lower the temp, the cooler it is coming from the vents. When the cab starts to reach set temp the fans slow down. Pretty cool ( no pun intended ) feature. Give it a try. Btw, I'm south of you in Oside. I'm currently researching the deploying bumper step I saw on the 19" power wagon for getting into the bed. Let you know what I find. Awesome vids!👍✌🤙
Agree with setting system to auto. Set it and forget it, when I turn on A/C which shuts down the Auto mode it's not nearly as cool. I'll have to turn on max cool to keep up with Auto.
On Ram If you use max AC it goes to recirc too....so it must be colder.......after owning 2019 plus GM trucks the Ram is pathetic in AC.....When summer gets here gonna have to figure something out
Like someone said 70k truck shouldn't have an issue like this.....in this day and age absolutely no reason for bad AC or heater
Thats cool you pulled over to help those motorists. The road side is an extremely dangerous place to be! I always pull infront of the vehicle for safety reasons. It only takes one driver texting and not paying attention to create a really bad situation... Stay safe my friend!
My 18’ cools the truck down almost instantly. I get comments on how fast it cool all the time.
Same here brother. I love my 18
At 14:15 above your GPS it said numb numb. I got hungry for a second 😋
I think it still blows cold bud. Your pops just got in your head.
Truck is so clean bro!
ram may fix this soon by coming out with an update that keeps the compressor on more
I have a 2018 2500 with the Cummins and my AC sucks as well. The air doesn’t come out of the vents very forcefully and what air does come out isn’t as cold as I feel it should be also. I swapped my cabin filter out with a K&N one and it seems to have helped a little bit but like you I expected better from a brand new truck. I’m almost suspecting some sort of blocked ducting or something with how my AC performs. Definitely not as good as the GM trucks but that’s the only complaint I have about mine so far.
ksiville I wonder if the trucks without the large infotainment system have this issue?
azrwilkinson mine is a tradesman, just about the smallest infotainment system you can get
This seems to be the norm for these late model Rams. Mine runs 46*-53* with a ambient temp of 80*-90*.
im really not sure what everyone is complaining about. 46-50 degree F on a 95 degree day sounds good to me. Mine is about the same.
Why not let it run for a long time on hi, and as the truck cools off on the inside and the temp is at 75 or so, see how cool the vent is then and see if it blows out even colder? Homes should be around 20-21 or so below what the temp in the house is, so assuming vehicles are the same way, to an extent?
The A/C is different between the drivers and passenger side for sure 6 or so degrees, it does cool down and the pass side blows low 40's once cooled off, but it really takes a while to get there.
Do the ventilated seats use the AC system or is it just fan blown air?
Hey Eddie I dont have those AC issues with my duramax....lol
Do love the new truck and hope you get it figured out.
Lots of 5th Gen 1500 folks have been complaining, and '19 HD owners, too. Some have found a bit undercharged, some seem to have a blend door issue.
I have same problem with my 2021 bighorn edition, the ac blows cold but not enought , when its over 100 f outside
I wonder if the blend doors for the cold/hot are not closing to block off heat from heater core?
I might catch hell here but im willing to help you out .OLD SCHOOL ... Been charging ac for 30 years and I go by the beer can cold method and I just know my pressures . I've used those machines for years and I hate them. hook up the suction gauge and what's the back pressure at 2200 rpm? most cars should be around 18 -20 lb back . I bet you're BP is low Sir
the AC is horrible in the Rams.....not even hot yet here and it just doesn't cool the truck down.....should be blowing 35-38°....my silverados were iceboxes with AC on
Could be something with climate control for driver and passenger system ...?
blendoor issue, see the dealer unfortunately. good luck. thanks for checking to see if help was needed, awesome
I could be wrong but maybe the head unit is giving off heat on the driver side the screen is so big it has to give off a little heat?
Got the samething on my 2020 Laramie 3500 took it to dealership they said it was low on Freon they fill it up but still not that much of a difference my 1500 gmc 2012 blows ice thru the vents
I traded my Ford F-150 that spoiled me with cold AC, now i bought a 2020 Laramie, tinted my windows to keep the sun heat out . It helped a little but it’s not the best AC specially for a new truck
Eddy do you think is better buy my ram with no sunroof ??
I have a 2016 ram from brand new, blows ice cold. But has a very annoying tick in the blower wheel....😡
97 Dodge Ram 1500 4X4 ext cab 39 degrees on 90 degree day
I got the same issues with my A/C I close the rear vents and front of cab stays fuller. I think its the blower. The jeep Rubicon has more velocity in my opinion. ram should put the motor in the jeep in there ram's. Check out your wifes A/C Big difference.
No, my AC in my Ram is ice cold. Lol... not normal
Do you have a 3500 and same year as Eddie? He said other Rams are cold but gotta compare apples to apples.
Turn you max ac button on then turn your fan speed down if you don't want it blowing that hard. I believe max ac cycles your compressor longer. Mines a 2018 but what I described worked for me. I struggled with the same issue going from a gm ac to ram ac.
no when i try to turn it down it goes back to regular AC
@@EddieLife3500 That's to bad. Ram must have changed how that function works in the 19's . I'd be interested to see the temp yours blows when it is in max ac mode and see if it gets below that 49dagrees. The air temp should be around 34-38 coming out of the vents on high. If you think about it the evaporator gets to freezing to be able to pull the moisture out of the air.
My 2019 Ram 2500 is in the shop at the dealership having the HVAC Technical Service Bulletin being performed. They are having to pull the whole dash out and put in different parts. Waiting to see if this fixes my AC. 7/28/2022
Holly crap man that’s crazy
Did they end up fixing the problem?
Wassup loving the vids!!! Keep it up bro!
I'm thinking reason why its warmer on driver side is because that vent is between two big computer screens that are hot as hell and that poor vent has too push air next to them.
I have a 2020 ram1500 eco diesel and has been in the the shop twice for POOR air conditioning. Same story properly charged no issues. I say bs
I don't know about the new Rams, but most new vehicles are using variable displacement A/C compressors to get better fuel mileage
So would you say it sucks or blows?
Eddie- efrain Im having a problem with the ac!
Efrain- hold on I’m thinking, 2020 and you have problems with the fuckin ac ?
😂😂hell Yeah haha efrain
That looked like a CHEVY on the side of the road to me there brother 🧐
Passenger side is closer to the condenser Coil, that’s why it’s colder on that side... I have a set of fans from a truck stop that blows the passengers side to the driver side in my 2012 ram 3500 SLT... FYI 2500 and 3500s Do Not have cabin air filters so if you do a lot of dirty/Dusty driving the condenser will get dirty quick and slow your airflow way down... And the are a bitch to clean...
Recirculate should deff be cooler. And the unit shouldn’t have to work as hard. Also read on a forum where someone reported Ram had attached an incorrect sticker under the hood for the amount of Freon. Last edit, also check and see if you feel the ac blowing through the defroster vent. When it’s humid my windshield gets condensation.
This is well documented on 5thgenrams. It's "normal" per RAM TSB but not normal to anyone who has driven a vehicle with A/C in the last 50 years. It's a 2 minute fix by clamping the heater hose out line from the engine or you can get fancy with a $12 valve from the parts store. RAM is never going to acknowledge this so don't waste your time.
2015 DODGE HAS A SAME ISSUE. SOMETHING THING IS FREEZING UP
I test drove a brand new RAM 1500 this week and it never cooled off completely. I also test drove a Ford F-150 and a GMC AT4 also and they were ice cold. Seems to be a common RAM problem.
It's a Chrysler. You're lucky it works at all. The dealer will tell you it's normal until you're out of warranty then they'll say there's a problem with it.
The electronics on your center stack probably hold more heat for your center vents and that is probably why your outside vents are cooler.
Hi Eddie My 2017 2500 AC will get down to between 38 & 42 degrees out of the middle vent and I never run it on max air. Sum-Thin not rite Lucy!!!!!!!!!
Mine does exactly the same thing. Clamp your heater hose closed and watch it go down like the passenger side.
Does ram classic 2021 have same issue?
I never use my A/C always have my windows down enjoy the fresh air not no artificial shit even if it’s 80-100F I’ll still have my windows down...mama ain’t raise no B*tch
I've noticed this on other new vehicles not just RAM, I think it's a fuel efficiency strategy thing they're doing to meet EPA requirements just like the Auto Start/Stop technology that people also hate. BTW the passenger side is colder because the evaporator is on the passenger side.
My 2014 ram dually cummins is not as cold as my 2005 ram it sucks times in traffic it feels like warm air , had it serviced and everything was fine they said I even added an electric fan and that helps a bit but still not as cold as my 05
