I’m so glad I still gave both my PS3 and Arkham Origins. I’ve lost so my priceless games over the years. I played Origins about a week ago and it is remarkable! I only wished the DeathStroke fight would’ve been one of the lasts or was as good as the Mr.Freeze fight from Arkham City. I still like it though even though it was simple, and I don’t hate it like some people felt. I 🥰 loved the design of Copperhead & the choice of changing him to a she, since I only remember Copperhead as a dude from animated series, animated movies, or comics. I thought it was funny that they had some villain nobody, What was his name? Electrocutioner? Finally, really like what they included in Bane’s story how he knew who Batman was, the TN-1 project he was working on to overcome addictions brain damage to the memory center from Venom was mostly untested & unstable. Heck I remember when Arkham Asylum was released, even before I had an HDMI TV and was blown away at the graphics for the Arkham games. I’m not sure but I think that’s where I believe PS3 reached its peak, or pushed the limits further.
Yeah, I think the music is the most likely reason why it won’t be re-released. It doesn’t matter how good the game and it’s narrative is if simply releasing, the game would be a huge legal can of worms for WB (or at least more vacant of worms than they’re willing to deal with.) A lot of games don’t get ported for that same reason
I would personally love a remaster but I get why. I love the other Arkham games, Knight is definitely a great game and I love going around with the origins skin. One workaround I would think of is if they did a sequel or additional prequel to asylum. So you could have Harvey dent initially as an ally in a long Halloween type story. One villain you could have, maybe as the main one is the Phantasm. There'd be a lot of stake in terms of Batmans emotion and how he once struggled with his mission. I realize it was one of Conroy's main projects in terms of the timmverse but I'm kind of convinced it would work in a game context, Arkham in particular. Call it Arkham crossroads or something. But I don't think any of the games ever touched up on the relationship between Batman and Andrea or Harvey and both were great stories. You could also have David Cain who has been criminally under represented in media, especially with Bruce being framed for murder, it's something I've always wanted in a film or game. I've started to find Cain quite interesting recently and it might be a good option, especially if they didn't want to do Deathstroke again? You could also have maybe Batgirl involved? Either Cassandra Cain or Barbara or both! Have both Cains and Gordon as dlc characters?
Dlc ideas could include: Batman - Batman begins suit - love this suit and it has been modded to death. JL Affleck skins - think Ben did a great job and I wish we had gotten these with Arkham Knight The Batman skin - Robert Pattinson was a great Batman and this is a younger Batman and a sequel is obviously due and it'd be great to have both suits DCU skin - maybe the game releases around the same time who knows but it should be added sometime after if the game comes first. If it's a good suit, Kilmers third act suit - I've always wanted this one personally, don't know if others feel the same. Keaton suit from both returns and The flash - these suits are absolutely phenomenal and I think that Keaton's suit from the flash is definitely one of the best and would have been a treat in AK with the Batmobile
Origins may never get re-released, but I’m very thankful Xbox added it to the Backwardscompatibility list before the service ended. Having it playable on the Xbox Series X has been a blast!
I need to keep saying this to everyone that discusses Origins. WB has basically removed all DLC content from being purchased on platforms outside of Steam to my knowledge. It began at the earliest month in my current research in April of 2023. Please make this known to everyone, please make WB hear us fans‼️
You say that like it's a surprise lmao. The vast majority of PS3/360 era games have had their DLC delisted, and for good reason. Those consoles are obsolete hardware that haven't been manufactured for many years now, so of course third party companies aren't going to pay for their licenses to be renewed for those old storefronts. There are some PS3/360 games that still have most of their DLC available, but you'll notice that's only the case for a tiny minority of games. Old fans had a whole decade to get that DLC if they wanted, and potential new fans aren't going to be playing on consoles from before several generations ago, they'll be playing it off Steam, which of course still has the DLC available so it's all good. This is a non-issue.
Even though I personally don’t think there’s enough continuity errors that Arkham origins can’t take place in the same universe as the rest of the Arkham games, I do have to question some of the choices. Like say, for example, both arche Asylum and Arkham Knight reference that bane broke Batman’s back at some point, so I guess we just have to assume a version of nightfall off screen? I don’t mind the Harley Quinn origin since even Arkham city Reton, a lot of the information from Arkham Asylum, by making hush and Hugo strange new enemies for Batman, but I do wish the games were a little more tightly net, continuity wise .
In my perfect world i would definitely re-release/remake this game, have Robert Pattinson's batsuit as a pre-order bonus and have the release date between November-December
It’s a realm shame because AO has my favorite gameplay out of the bunch. The variety of enemies was my favorite especially the brutes and martial artist. AK just felt overwhelming and it didn’t have the same feel, like the sound effects for takedowns didn’t feel as pronounced and a couple gameplay decisions that I personally disliked.
What are the gameplay additions that you disliked ? Besides the batmobile And also the sounds of bullets when punching enemies in Arkham knight was peak
@@Mohamad-m7md it’s a “too much of a good thing is a bad thing” for me. In Arkham Knight there are so many abilities they add, that I kind of dislike it. Aside from that are more QoL things. They removed free flow focus. In Arkham City and Origins, and I think Asylum, once you reach 12 hits without a special, time essentially slows, allowing Batman to counter and attack faster. This isn’t featured in AK. Not to mention the art style and previously mentioned sound design. From a technical standpoint, AK is still one of the best graphically looking games today, but regardless I kinda like the comic book feel of criminal factions in AO and AC. Personally, I just find AO to be the most fun to play.
I love Arkham Origins - particularly the story. Yes, there are some glitches, and it could be better on a technical level, blah, blah, blah, but that's not what I have an issue with. There are elements of the levelling up system that require you perform particular tasks, and if you do not do these before certain story beats, you need to begin the game from scratch. That's not good game design, and the game never tells you this. It's quite a serious flaw. It means you can't 100% the game. Despite that, I still want this game to make a return. The Christmas touch really is the icing on the cake.
Wasn't allowed to air it. My editor at the publication used to work for, ran AO Gameplay b roll instead on the site at the time. And posted a transcript of the interview.
Honestly I doubt you'll read this but your playthrough of this game still sits fondly in my memory back when I was younger nearly a decade ago. I remember the intro with the joker and all. Thank you for carrying my childhood K family.
It’s unfortunate even for how good it was. I think WB missed an opportunity to continue with a Batman Beyond game. Now with Kevin Conroy passing the Rocksteady Batman is done.
@@TariqTheGuy because he is the voice for this version of Batman. Say if they did a Batman Beyond game, I think and older Bruce would have been in the game. They could get another VA to voice but it wouldn’t feel the same.
Arkham batman was already voiced by a different voice actor it’s not that big of a deal and definitely isn’t a good reason to never do an Arkham game again
Arkham origins was an amazing batman game. And yah it is riddled with glitches, they still never patched the art concept completion list, you have many missing entries that you cant get, its like they forgot to delete them. Also they were gonna give us the nightmare suit as a skin but i read somewhere it caused saves to corrupt. Thats a pity.
It's unfortunate. I personally like Origins more than Asylum because it had actual boss fights. Roger Craig Smith and Troy Baker also did great performances as Batman and Joker.
I have such a love/hate relationship with Arkham Origins. It is one of my absolute FAVORITE videogames...but I have it on PS3. The bugs are SO bad and it's an eyesore at times, but I fight through it. One thing I wish they would do for every game is introduce "I am the night" mode. Brutal difficulty where if you die, you restart. You REALLY feel like Batman once you beat it. Also, on completed save files it lets you basically do NG+ over and over again with the "restart when you die" mechanic.
lol we never make this much noise when the games originally drops then get mad when they don’t prioritize it 10 years later. I’m mad too but we gotta praise these games when they drop and show companies what we really want
I still say that WB Games can still remaster Arkham Origins it doesn't have to be part of the trilogy plus if they remastered they can fix the bugs the only reason I'm still saying this that's what people thought when GTA the definitive editions came out
I disagree whole heartedly. I believe the game will get a re release soon. First off, the music licensing thing is a rumor that has been debunked. Secondly, the idea that it won't get re released because it's not made by rocksteady is a bad take, bro. I could see that being the reason it wasn't included in the Arkham trilogy, but that doesn't explain why it hasn't gotten a stand alone re release. As to why i think they might finally remaster it, i got two words... Suicide Squad. After the disasterous Suicide Squad and the vad reception to their new VR only Batman game, WB needs some serious Positive PR, and what better way than to remind people why they live Batman with this gem of a game. It wouldn't cost them that much, and would turn a huge profit (sure the game received mixed reviews at launch, but the game has since become a cult classic and tons of people want to play it but can't, it would sell great) plus it would help with reminding people how good the arkhamverse was, and help mend that broken bridge caused by suicide squad. BTW, you said the game only has minor references to Origins, and that is just blatantly wrong. The game has major returning characters and tons of verbal and visual references. It's absolutely a part of the Arkhamverse.
No wonder. No wonder Arkham Origins hasnt gotten re release. Honestly I didnt think this rabbit hole would be deeper. A shame. Hell it was buggy on release and they would rather work on the DLC than fix the game.
fun fact: arkham origins is literally an arkham city mod. you can roam through arkham asylum and arkham city locations in this game if you play the alpha + in alpha batman in character models is literally the model from arkham city
Everyone knew that Origins is essentially a City mod. With the amount of reused sound effects, assets and animations. That's also why I like it so much.
I mean all they would have to do is license the music again. Maybe Drake would play hardball, but everyone has a price. And composers that are under competing labels work for or appear on other studios’ projects all the time. So if they thought they could make money on Arkham Origins, paying Christopher Drake the fee needed to keep to original music would be a heck of a lot cheaper than hiring a new composer. And it’s obviously not a money issue because we know WB has the money. It’s all based on how much they calculate the risk to be. If paying the licensing fee for using his music is more than what they feel is an acceptable risk for rereleasing the game then yes, they will not do it. But then it’s up to fans to communicate that they would be interested in a remake or rerelease so that the executives at WB games feel like the endeavor would be suitably profitable.
After GoldenEye N64 getting released last year, anything is possible. Not only was it a Nintendo game which was made by developers who are now part of Microsoft, it was based on a James Bond movie which involves an additional two companies along with the Movie Actors whose faces are plastered everywhere in the game. Then there's a separate license for James Bond videos games and a bunch of rules that were made after GE like how you can't have Bond kill any friendly NPCs in Single Player or Multiplayer, you must use the current Bond Actor (unless currently recasting so this one was fine), and other stuff that GoldenEye violates. There were literally dozens of reasons for why GoldenEye can't be rereleased but after 25 years it finally happened. Arkham Origins being made by a different developer that Warner Bros already owns and the composer needing a new licensing deal should be child's play compared to this...but WB often makes bad choices so who knows. Realistically it shouldn't be that big of a challenge to rerelease Arkham Origins but only time will tell.
they own it but I don't understand why kill the most popular version of batman on consoles, it fells like a cheap thing that can remaster/re-release but WB is chasing a high of "I want a new DC game" and it's hurting
1. So what if origins wasn't made by rocksteady? It doesn't mean that it can't be apart of a arkham collections. (Unless rocksteady are assholes about a game thye didn't make in a collection with most of their games in it.) 2. Why didn't you want them to reference origins stuff in knight?
@@keelanbarron928 To be fair this video is good he made good points on why it doesn’t have a remaster but he just never viewed origins as canon because some continuity stuff are different like for example in Arkham asylum and city bios it says Harley met joker in Arkham asylum but in origins they met at black gate just details like that that makes him not want origins to be canon he still likes the game and plays it every year tho he just doesn’t see it as canon but In the grand scheme of things origins being canon doesn’t harm the Arkham series at all but sucide squad kill the justice league SHOULD NOT be canon
I've pondering about why didn't WB include Origins in the switch version instead of Arkham Knight. I mean its cool to have a triple A game on the switch and all but graphics and performance wise Origins is like the best choice to include it into the trilogy collection.
Honestly, I would love to see you do more Arkham content. Maybe your favorite gadgets, how you would fix Origins and Knight’s story, rankings of the game, etc. Or maybe even some retrospectives. I know you guys have a very busy schedule, but I could see you being really great at it!
Here's the question for you Luke to why we never gotten a remake of Batman Arkham Origins because no one cared, The game was staticy when it came out especially on the PS3 and Xbox 360 That's the reason why. You right that is a interesting question.
It’s same on Xbox as well. We can’t buy it off the marketplace but we can buy the disc and it’s backwards compatibilble. It’s a shame it’s been forgotten 😢
I doubt the copyright issue for the music in Arkham Origins is the reason cause he stopped working with WB after injustice. Return to Arkham was released in 2016
Actually copyrighted music and trying to re-license older Games for reselling can be an expensive nightmares. That's the core reason both MVC2 and Earthbound had difficulties getting ports. Some companies are willing to meet Composers legal requirements. Others don't want to put in the effort. It has happened in the Game industry for 30 years now off and on.
I never knew music was that expensive to be used. Honestly if WB/Discovery get over themselves maybe we could finally get Lego Batman in its full glory.
Dude there's still a little hole in my heart from when they stopped supporting that multiplayer. I think if they updated the graphics and threw in some new maps people would love it.
That's a shame, Origins is honestly my second favorite Arkham game after City, I really like the boss fights, storyline, Roger Craig Smith & Troy Baker's performance as young Batman & Joker were amazing, If only WB were smart.
The 360 disc works on the Xbox One. I am grateful for that. The game runs however you do encounter glitches mainly in the combat. I would like to see this get a remaster because all of the pieces are there for a much more enjoyable experience
I am so pissed! I had the game on 360 and then lost it when X-Box upgraded their systems and I couldn’t get it back, I really love the game! I have read and heard rumors that it was going to be remastered and made available for the X-Box S series, I feel it belongs as part of the Arkham story arc and regardless of who made it! As far as I’m concerned it is a Arkham game! And I want it back!
Thank you for talking about this. What’s sad is given the state of the the ps3 and Xbox 360 digital marketplaces the Mr Freeze expansion could technically be considered lost media at this point
All of these reasons are just a bunch of bullshit. Whoever’s in charge of WB Interactive needs to take another look at this franchise before abandoning it.
Hate too say it but Arkham origins is my favorite of the games and yes I’ve played them all and I think the only reason is I love the tone and story and there are so many good boss fights
Genuine curiosity, what are the continuity errors I’m hearing about, is it the stuff that goes against the Asylum tapes (Harley Quinn origin etc.) or is it something bigger I missed
Harley meeting Joker, never occurred in Blackgate. Later in his career at Arkham. Bane turning into Monster didn't happen till he was tortured in Aslyum. Hence Batman's shock at seeing Bane's ordeal from Dr Young. Mr Freeze accident happened differently, then how Freeze tells it in City to Hugo strange. Similar to Dini's writing from BTAS. Origins changed how the accident happened. Arkham Asylum was the first time Joker had control of a prison and orchestrated a riot. Batman would've expected it to happen again. Everyone including GCPD and Arkham staff were not ready for that event. Had Origins happened and blackgate, they likely would've learned from past mistakes. Arkham City was created because of the failure of AA and thr incident that occurred. I could go on, but thats just a bite size portion what Origins goofed on.
Im playing Origins for the first time...and having a hard time staying interested. I really enjoyed City and Knight, just dont get the same motivation to play... I probably sound like a hater, and really don't mean to, I want to like it...
If I’m not mistaken, during the production of Arkham Knight, Warner Brother forced Rocksteady to include Origins into AK. During the time, many fans hated the idea because it was hated at the time. Of course, that was before we knew about the lackluster story of AK.
You know what I'd love? A Gotham Knights Arkham Crossover where Arkham Batman gets thrown into the Gotham Knights reality (something like injustice) and they're trying to figure out how to get Arkham Batman back while also fighting crime in the city. Playing as Arkham Batman makes the enemies more scared of you because they're all young punks and this new Batman is Scarier because he sounds like Rodger Craig Smith. Then we get a part where Gotham Knights Barbra goes to the Arkham universe to meet herself there and to see her "Dad" one last time.
Such a shame. I got this game the Christmas of 2013 and at the time I was very new to the Arkham series and a lot of Batman content in general. I played through this game nonstop and completed the main campaign in just under two days. Very fond memories of both playing this game and watching your original playthrough on the 01 channel. I will always look upon this game and the Arkham series fondly. Also thanks for the years of content. Keep it up and Merry Christmas.
That Batman yell at close to the end is my perfect response to what I'm feeling about us not getting a Remastered version over soundtrack. Origins is part of the Rocksteady universe in my opinion like it or not. It's such a solid game and it's a dang shame that they won't consider doing that. If they gave us an upgraded/updated version. Better graphics, better gameplay, and a lot less bugs, I feel it would sell a lot better now than it did on it's original release. That's my opinion. I almost never hear anything negative about Arkham Origins except for the bugs it has. If WB was smart, which they obviously aren't, they would reconsider.
Okay, but why does the fact that Origins was made by WB instead of Rocksteady mean they can't put it into any Arkham collections? WB are the ones rereleasing the games, not Rocksteady, right?
Okay story…….its absolutely the best story of all Batman games. And that is a fact. Best boss battles too. And just because wb Montreal made the game it gets all the hate, funny thing. Batman Arkham knight was even more broken on pc that origins was but it is origins that’s get all the hate. I wander why that is🤔

I don't know but an Origins Remaster would be nice with all the dlc and suits. It would sell with if done properly.

I personally loved arkham origins. It was a great addition to the others. But Arkham city will always we my favorite. But origins had the best dlc!
Mmm, guess I'll have to cherish the copy that I have already..
Yeah, I think the music is the most likely reason why it won’t be re-released.
It doesn’t matter how good the game and it’s narrative is if simply releasing, the game would be a huge legal can of worms for WB (or at least more vacant of worms than they’re willing to deal with.)
A lot of games don’t get ported for that same reason
Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi probably didn’t get a Blu-ray release due to music rights.
Such a lame reason
Dlc ideas could include:
Batman - Batman begins suit - love this suit and it has been modded to death.
JL Affleck skins - think Ben did a great job and I wish we had gotten these with Arkham Knight
The Batman skin - Robert Pattinson was a great Batman and this is a younger Batman and a sequel is obviously due and it'd be great to have both suits
DCU skin - maybe the game releases around the same time who knows but it should be added sometime after if the game comes first. If it's a good suit,
Kilmers third act suit - I've always wanted this one personally, don't know if others feel the same.

I'm glad I kept my PS3.
Warner Brothers could at the very least make all the Arkham games, including Origins, Verified to be playable without any issues on Steam Deck.
The only 1 of the Arkham games I can't get the work is Arkham asylum the rest of work fine
Batman Arkham origns is my favorite Arkham game i really want a remake or remaster on current gen consoles.
Origins remaster would be great
It's my favorite Arkham game out of all of them. Would love to see a remaster with all the DLC.
Besides the batmobile
And also the sounds of bullets when punching enemies in Arkham knight was peak

Arkham Origins is such a good game to play during Christmastime.

Cool video, I never would’ve thought music was a big reason why arkham origins and lego Batman 1 won’t get re-released
It’s unfortunate even for how good it was. I think WB missed an opportunity to continue with a Batman Beyond game. Now with Kevin Conroy passing the Rocksteady Batman is done.
Why would Kevin passing end the Arkhamverse? It's sad he was the batman voice but doesn't mean the Arkham games should be completely finished
@@TariqTheGuy for me it's finished, WB is trash now, i don't want to see them ruining batman
Thats a pity.
arkham origins has the best boss fight ever, screw the haters
The dumbest thing is WB Montreal made the most underrated game in the series that is FAR superior to Knight and to this day it gets no love
It’s not FAR superior people always love to downplay one Arkham game to hype up another one for some reason
Arkham Origins great!!!
I think Kill the Justice League will kill off Batman related games for a long while. Always online put me and plenty off enough to cancel preorders.
Like the batman film that shall not be named
It's unfortunate. I personally like Origins more than Asylum because it had actual boss fights. Roger Craig Smith and Troy Baker also did great performances as Batman and Joker.
Origins has always been the black sheep of the group. The outlier. The often forgotten.
I still say that WB Games can still remaster Arkham Origins it doesn't have to be part of the trilogy plus if they remastered they can fix the bugs the only reason I'm still saying this that's what people thought when GTA the definitive editions came out
Wouldn’t it be possible for the person who worked on the music in AO just partner up with WB again to allow them to re-release it?
Unfortunately egos get in the way. Neither side are willing to give up until a good deal comes along
00:50 what makes me mad about this is that Knight put origins events in the canon story, so yeah it is part of the story
fun fact: arkham origins is literally an arkham city mod.
you can roam through arkham asylum and arkham city locations in this game if you play the alpha + in alpha batman in character models is literally the model from arkham city
Well said 👏
After GoldenEye N64 getting released last year, anything is possible.
(Unless rocksteady are assholes about a game thye didn't make in a collection with most of their games in it.)

You doing the voice at the end brought back memories to the AO intros
I've pondering about why didn't WB include Origins in the switch version instead of Arkham Knight. I mean its cool to have a triple A game on the switch and all but graphics and performance wise Origins is like the best choice to include it into the trilogy collection.

Here's the question for you Luke to why we never gotten a remake of Batman Arkham Origins because no one cared, The game was staticy when it came out especially on the PS3 and Xbox 360 That's the reason why. You right that is a interesting question.
In case anyone is wondering, the game + season pass is around $38 on the PS3 PSN. The season pass by itself is $19.99.
Yeah I'm DL it right now on ps5 right now,, maybe this guy never learned lol
NEVER SAY NEVER
It’s same on Xbox as well. We can’t buy it off the marketplace but we can buy the disc and it’s backwards compatibilble. It’s a shame it’s been forgotten 😢
The music thing was also kind of an issue for Marvel vs Capcom 2 if I remember right. I've never heard anyone bring this up so I agree with you sir
Copyrighted music can easily lock a game to the platform it was released on.
If it is possible for a different composer to create a new score for the game, then I say they do it in order to have the game released.
3:55 what were the questions you asked
It’s a shame, because I think on a narrative level that it’s better than knight. It deserves a remaster
I agree. Once we have a clear understanding of what the main obstacle is, it shouldn’t be too hard to address.

All of these reasons are just a bunch of bullshit. Whoever’s in charge of WB Interactive needs to take another look at this franchise before abandoning it.
Origins was amazing. I'd love to get it again on current gen
I probably sound like a hater, and really don't mean to, I want to like it...

the sad thing is peoples will still ask about it
If I’m not mistaken, during the production of Arkham Knight, Warner Brother forced Rocksteady to include Origins into AK. During the time, many fans hated the idea because it was hated at the time. Of course, that was before we knew about the lackluster story of AK.
Lmao kinda like now with the new suicide squad kill the justice league game but for reason
Similar can be said for JSRF's re-release. It won't happen because of one artist
Okay, but why does the fact that Origins was made by WB instead of Rocksteady mean they can't put it into any Arkham collections? WB are the ones rereleasing the games, not Rocksteady, right?
I was lucky to get a physical copy of the base game. I just wish i could get the dlc.
