I Got a First Look at the 2023 Honda Civic Type R!

Honda invited us to my home state and track of Mid-Ohio for the first public debut of the all new Civic Type R. It was the official pacecar for the Honda Indy 200 and we not only got to see it up close and personal, but also go around the race track to start the race!

I actually like the look. Many ppl hated the previous gen Type R. I didn't I still love that car but this just look more elegant. Even with the camo

I'd buy new on over old, just based on looks. Hopefully there an option for smaller rear spoiler since it looks out of place with the sculpted design.

I agree - the new one seems like a more serious car. I looked at the old one, and it felt like "boy racer", inside and out. The new one is quite stunning.

its a second faster than the older one because the tires are better nice job honda if this doesnt have at least 350hp its just a refresh

265 tires - will not be on production car.
At one time, for many years, I attended IndyCar races (CART, the real series, still holding the grudge) and they had a fleet of pace cars. Some were incredibly stock to the point of boring. None were heavily modified, either. But big tires were common, given the high speeds they drove (relative to the race cars) while pacing the field.
So don't hold your breath.

Never did a better time in the Nurburgring , that would’ve bin the true diference in lap time , looks to me like it could beat the fk8’s Nurburgring time

2019 Renault Mégane RS Trophy-R holds the current FWD record at the Nurburgring. This car would undoubtedly top the FK8 time. That’s not the time they need to beat. All shall be revealed to us on July 20th.

@Jay Kune he definitely is, you could park one of these next to a m340i and it won't look awkward next to it. The fk8 still has horrible body lines and a ton over styled pieces.
