I have owned the BZ4X for about 1.5 months, I love my BZ4X. the charging is not that long with the fix and the car is supremely well built, 100% in Japan. The car has no stall upon acceleration and is easy to handle around curves. The range will improve and this will be a very sought after EV.
I have a Bz4x as well ! And it was the best option at the time trading in my negative equity car that would’ve costed me 18k ! But only rolled over 10! I do not like mine compared to other EV’s only because for the price ! It seems cheaply made !!!!! If you push around certain trims in the interior like near the window panel where it has the controls for the windows , mine doesn’t seem intact and I’m the first owner . Go to a dealer and get inside the Kia Ev6 ! Huge difference in quality and getting the best bang out of your buck😩 just my experience I’m projecting my frustration out , lol I’m glad you are enjoying your bz4x. I’ve had mine less than a month and the value of my car went from 48k to 26k ….. that is unbelievable!!!
I have this car and absolutely love it. Yes, charging takes longer than I’d like but I just plug in at home (level 1) every few days. Drives beautifully and no issue with seeing gauge cluster. This coming winter will be first winter so nervous about the range during cold weather so might need to charge daily in garage.
you need two go back to toyota and ask again bz4x stands for beyond 0 emissions 4 is the model size and x stands for crossover I own one had it for two months good car needs sum more looking into than A day drive good video 👍👍
In Québec, this makes so much sense. With the subsidies, low interest rates and rebates, you leave the lot with an XLE AWD for about the same price as a well equipped Corolla Cross hybrid. Honestly, I have no idea what’s the big fuss about charging. I can easily get over 120kw on a 180kw charger, at least between 15% and 65% of battery. Then it drops to 80kw, then to 60-70 between 75 and 80%. 30 minutes and you’re back on the road. It’s much more comfortable than a Tesla, much better built than a Tesla, takes bumps like a champ, really nice handling. I’d take better brakes, but I’m nitpicking. I welcome journalists to keep on shitting on this car. That way, Toyota will offer even more rebates. Sincerely, no regrets at all. Favourite rig I’ve owned, and I once owned an MK6 GTI.
I was looking at going to Quebec to buy a pre owned one I see you can get a 2023 with under 10K for just shy of $34,000.00. Is this a good deal or you can you find these even cheaper in Quebec?
@@begley09 You can’t get the subsidies in Québec if they’ve already been claimed for this precise car by the precedent owner. Remember it’s 7000$ provincial, 5000$ federal. On top of this, Toyota Canada chops 3500$ off the price tag to clean the lots. And on top of that, Toyota Credit is bringing the interest rate to 2,79% if you buy it new. So 44-45 000$ new for a base FWD with a 2,9% interest rate or the 34 000$ you found with a 9 to 11% interest rate. If you do maths like me, you’ll quickly get the answer to your question, especially since the 2024 updates make the car so much easier to live with. Your move.
@@begley09 You chop down (after taxes applied) 7000$ from Québec, 5000$ from the federal government and 3500$ from Toyota Canada (as of today). So about 44-45 000$, depending on the interest rate you’ll get with your credit score.
@@begley09 34 000$ for such a car is a very good deal. Granted, resale value is very low because EV enthusiasts s*** on that car, simply because it has less range. If you pull the trigger on one of these bad girls, make sure you want to keep it for a long time. That being said, usually, I buy a car thinking of the next one. I enjoy switching cars, guilty as charged. This time, however, I really don’t see what could check more boxes. It’s spacious, easy to live with, seats are so comfortable, recharge speeds are quite good if you have an updated one and built quality is light years in front of Tesla. So it’s designed to keep it for a while anyway. My three nitpicks; front headlights are not quite good, brakes are ok at best and that gawd awful piano black on the center console scratches in no time. That’s about it, really…
On pricing in the US, this seems like a poor value. In Canada, specifically in Quebec, the FWD version at least is far more competitive with the current government subsidies (though they will be substantially scaled back over the next 2-3 years). Going forward, in the US (and Canada post-subsidies), either a better range or a major price reduction will become necessary (ideally both, but not likely). In my market (Quebec), it remains on my list of possible options because of the subsidies (12,000$), the FWD better range/lower price (about 5000$), and the fact only the Kona EV represents a lower cost option (and not a huge difference). The market I envy is Europe as they have so many more options, but c’est la vie.
With the extra 3500$ rebate, the bZ4X FWD is now only 500$ more than the base Kona EV, and is 1800-2500$ cheaper if financed because of significantly lower interest rate at Toyota. I expect the rebate to remain in place until 2024 stock is all sold. With a combined 15500$ rebate and EV incentive, I’m far more tempted to buy one.
Right now you can find a used 2023 Bz4x with under 10k for $33,000.00 + tax....not a terrible deal when you think a Model Y will be about $15,000.00 more.
well it's likely going to be the body style of the 2026 ravs going forward. it's not ugly IMO, but it is a bad fully electric vehicle. not a large battery / no super fast charging support.
I thought it was weird but after seeing in person, it is good looking. it actually looks a lot like the RAV4 but more futuristic. Sorry but the cybertruck doesn't even look like a car. when i first saw it, i thought it was a prop someone was driving to a movie set
I agree with you, normally I think looks are subjective, but I have to guess that Toyota made this ugly on purpose. It looks like it was in an accident and they didn’t have the right parts to fix it. Personally I really dislike the looks on the inside too and I’m against using buttons instead of a knob for volume. The size of the battery is the clearest indicator that Toyota didn’t really want this to succeed. It has a smaller battery than the competition and the worst horsepower/range combination of any of the competition. You kind of have to try to do that. All that said, I’m sure its fine for driving around town, especially if you haven’t driven any of the competition. All EVs are fun to drive around town. Toyota put no love into this car.
Toyota must be horrified people are buying these things. They sold almost 10,000 of them last year and might sell double that in 2024. Toyota tried like hell to make the bZ4x look ugly and be uncompetitive in every single way, they gave it a WTF name and no glove box, they even told people the wheels would fall off and they are STILL buying them. These are all Toyota customers so every single one sold takes a sale from the high profit tailpipe models. Toyota should have left EVs to the experts and the willing.

How much does the FWD version cost all in after all the incentives in Quebec?
