  • While the Ford Raptor was the first hardcore off-road truck, now just about every manufacturer is getting in the mix. With the all new Tundra coming out recently, Toyota had to step up their game if they wanted to compete in that space with the TRD Pro. Today we take the latest TRD Pro, in an all new 2024 exclusive color Terra, for a drive to see if it stacks up.

Just picked up this exact truck in the Terra color! A lot of people say they thought they didn’t like the color from the pictures but love it in person. I loved it either way. lol

Great review..along seeing you driving around in my neighborhood..:) I'm super on the fence/ torn giving up my 23GX460 to for the Platinum TTV6 only with the off-road package and a few mods..daily driver..Main reason is the extra space..for my bikes/skis and Colorado road trips and such.....Been test driving and doing a ton of research.. I've owned 5-6 4Runners and x2 GX-460's. Just wished they had a bit more room..

Probably not enough to justify the nominal gain in mpg, however the added power is really what justifies the added complexity. At least partially.. that’s for the buyers to decide

As a mountain biker, having a Tundra or Tacoma is a standard. I am still driving my 2017 Tacoma and the backseat was perfect when my daughters were 7 and 8 years old. Now both are 5”8 and 5”7 tall it’s no longer a practical truck for a family road trip. I am debating whether I should buy SUV and keep my Taco or buy a Tundra and get rid of my Taco.

For offroading, you dont need nearly 600 ft/lbs of torque. With that said, why so high torque numbers? One would say, it's for towing. But wait, you can't get tow mirrors from Toyota, they are literally made from unobtanium. I waited 19 months for a Tundra and finally gave up because of this shitty allocation system. My brother is still holding on. I move on to a 2024 Titan XD. Kept my daily driver 2006 Tundra for trail beat up.

Trying to "poor" someone online is such a child move. I can afford the Raptor but most logical people will make their decision based on actual real world need vs. want. Raptor is very cool but most of us don't actually need that much off-road prowess.

Overpriced, ugly and still needs modifications to compete with the GM ZR2, AT4 and AT4X, TRX and Raptor and Tremor.
